    Great video.. so what do I do if while tightening the new wheel studs they spinning..? 😩😩 I’m using hand tools, ratchet and a socket.!

      This means the splines stripped the hub, you need to replace the hub.
      Hand tools are fine, use a torque wrench to tighten it to the correct torque. (maybe at one point they were over tightened?)

      @@santiagodavila1426 if you have to, you can try from the back, the hub may be alum and the stud is steel. What year, make, model?

      @@valleywrenchin the reason I’m replacing the stud is because the stocks ones are too short, am putting spacers and the spacers are too thick,’so needed longer studs, but. Now that am having issues. If I dnt replace them all at all am just add the spacers, you think should be a problem if the stud nut doesn’t go all the way in…? I tried and even if nuts are very tight, Can see the there are still lot of threat left on the nut, because the stud is too short.. shouldn’t be a issue as long as they very tight.? What you think?

    What if the holes on the hub have no spline lines ?

    • @valleywrenchin

      They may spin out on you when you try and torque them down to spec. Perhaps the hub needs to be replaced.
      What year/make/model?
      You could try using loctite, but it it fully cure before installing the wheels and or lugs back on.

      @Valley Wrenchin It's an 04 Yamaha Banshee. Rear hubs. I pressed them in with a hammer but wasn't easy. They're still not flush so I was thinking of doing it with the lug nut and spacer to ratchet them in

      I just spent $45 on 8 studs.... but maybe I do need to get new hubs 😕

    • @valleywrenchin
      @valleywrenchin  2 роки тому

      Yeah try putting a nut on the studs and see if it will press them in all the way.
      When you torque the lug nuts, don't overdue them. 32-33 ft/lbs all they need.

    Can't you just put a nut on the stud and crank it down?

    • @valleywrenchin
      @valleywrenchin  3 роки тому

      We would not recommend it. The splines on the stud will wear out the hole. That is why it is necessary to try and match the spline groves when reinstalling it.
