Ah, GREAT. I'm riddled with osteoarthritic pain. I can't adequately convey in words what your films mean to me. So glad to have found your channel. Thanks John, thank you.
Loved the shot of St Anthony's Head lighthouse. Spent a beautiful day there a couple of weeks back with the good lady. Some absolutely stunning little coves and beaches that way too. Great kelp beds just off the rocks, guess who didn't take a rod!? King Harry's Ferry was a blast too, didn't even know the satnav was taking us via a ferry till the road turned into river! Simply stunning part of the world. Great session as usual John, every single video imparts new knowledge. You, Sir, are a star!
I paused the blog to put a comment on and I’m only a couple of minutes in John. Just reading some comments and your replies. You are such a kind man just by saying that it’s great if your vlogs help someone. You take the time to reply and not that many do that all they want is the notoriety of UA-cam. You seem to care about people too which is an endearing kind thing about you. Fish Locker does me good just by seeing the sea and learning about it too..I.e..your coastal foraging goes down a treat…eating the scallops on the shore with a homemade log cooker. Your a good man John, a nice well mannered man. Be happy stay safe give the wife and son hugs every day too. Steph xx
Thank you very much for the lovely comment Stephanie. I do my best to respond to as many comments as I can but honestly just cannot keep up with them all.
Seeing the fish on the fishfinder makes perfect sense to me from my experience in freshwater river fishing. They're hanging back low in the slack water watching the faster flow overhead. Conserving energy until they see a food item pass over and then rush out and grab it. Awesome content as always John.
I would like to echo the sentiment expressed by the subscriber with osteoarthritis, I am housebound and your films transport me to a wonderful experience, thank you John.
Young man..I've fished all over Europe and Africa.. been lucky! I really enjoy your explanation of catching..its a winner and so self explanation ..we'll done..and great twang with your voice..I explain to my Italian wife the differences of English..(she can't understand you..)
That’s brought back memories !! - only difference.. was a caravan on our driveway not a boat 🤣 Me and mi brother had a deal after a night out - if the caravans rocking’ don’t come knocking 😅
This reminds me of a bad joke. What do light beer and s#x in a canoe have in common? They are both effing close to water. I apologize if this offends anyone. But once you mention bad joke you gotta tell it.
Dear John Mate! I Love your Cornish accent, heavy to understand. Fishing, foraging the Cornish tides (along with your son)! Like Grannma Gina cooking pasta, however allowed two lobsters, three big crabs waving with claws before cooked . That’s the juice! You’l never eat all the seafood by yourselves. You catch and you share with Family and with Friends.
what a lovely fishing trip , that wrasse looked like a tench colour wise. You mentioned bait fish, well up the canal today the surface was bubbling with tiny fry, there was hardly a calm section for half a mile or so. Cheers John 👍🏴
Oof; when the waves are that choppy, I'd be packing a 1-liter thermos of ginger tea (soothes upset stomachs; good for nausea)~🤢😅 You've got the balance of a cat, John, to keep from tipping into the drink in those waves! 😂 Lovely fish; the green-gold color of pollocks is so pretty~☺🐟🌊
Your easy informative manner makes you a top-shelf teacher, John. And the wonder of it is, you interact with a camera as though it were friends present with you. During my teaching years, I needed the presence of others to give my best, whereas you convey your best to an unseen audience. One of the few others likewise is mustie1 the restoration mechanic.
When I started the channel I simply said to myself that I would explain things as if I had taken a friend with me who just didn’t know what I was doing. 😊👍🏻
You did have a very good morning John, interesting information about the water speeding up as it goes over the reef. Thanks for asking about my wife John. She is getting worse almost by the day & goes back to the neurologist in a couple of weeks where he is due to review her medications. One thing is for sure, neither the Dementia nor the Parkinson's will ever improve, they both have one way tickets it's just a matter of how fast, just the same as my multiple physical disabilities. Regards to you, Hannah & all of your families & thanks for sharing your wonderful videos, Don from South Aust.
John another lovely day on the water. love the analogy of lying on the sofa after a full Sunday roast but then someone says who's for up for the stilton and port :D Best regards to the rest of the Fish Locker Family
I just discovered your channel a few weeks ago I'm from the u.s.. Pennsylvania as matter of fact. I just had to say I can tell that by the way you carry yourself and I'm here to the rules. I enjoy what you and how you you're a very personable person with a great and a great passion 4life and survival and the survival of our food resources. I enjoy your channel .thank you for what you do.and for your service to not just your country but mine as well and for the world.
A really fantastic fun session with so much useful information imparted. How I wish that we'd had that ectronic equipment back in the 1950s and your modern tackle.
Hi John i'm not a fisherman myself but i find your vlogs very interesting. I never knew one type of fish from the other till i started watching thank you for that. I especially enjoy the lobster hauling vlogs, keep up the great work...cheers.
Another grand day out on the boat and plenty of action, the light gear does add a bit of fun to fishing, crackin video again, see you in the next one John 👍🎣
Great session John. Nothing like a light setup and some good sized Pollock, really tests the skills ;-)...Enjoyed...All the best to you, Hannah and of course James. TC... P.s Looking forward to Jim cooking some of your catch soon. 🙂
Another great video John I remember fishing off a boat off Dunbar for cod & pollock I was fishing without any rag or lug worm & the pollock were taking my silver hooks I had a great day when I was a boy many moons ago 🐟🎣😂😂
That was a fun fish adventure. Its amazing how the certain fish, go after certain colors. Watermelon, cotton candy, green and silver, and my favorite is pink. Salmon love pink and Watermelon, trout here love green/silver, and rainbow. Thanks for the show John Cheers 🍻 🇨🇦❤️
Great sport, John. I've been using the same Sidewinder casting jigs plus Savages Gear ones, quite similar. I've been changing the trebles out for inline 2.0 and 3.0 lure hook singles, Mustad and Savage Gear. Also increased the front single by a size or two. Thanks for the video, mate.

I have a similar sentiment; just fibromyalgia instead of arthritis. Glad someone else finds that comfort in these ❤

Got yeh! Lovely end of the weekend viewing. Had a lovely thornback this weekend. Looking forward to getting down to Cornwall with some lures soon.

Great footage. Seeing the fish on the radar was interesting, as was the explanation about the water flow over the reef. Thank you.

Fanstatic fishing. Great that you show the action on the fish finder.👍🏻

Really cool to see the fish finder images to show the behavior and schooling patterns. Great stuff, as usual. That pollock looks tasty.

On the right day light lures and rods are 100% the best way to do it.
Quality stamp of fish, good fun on light gear too!
Really informative this video as usual john always learning here 👍
Thanks Phil.
Nice lad... Keep good keep real.
Cheers Andy.
My Fave fish are Roach caught in Scotland. Rudd may always steal the show in actual weight but a net full of reds on whip is sweet.
I’ve had some great sessions with a whip on the silvers in my youth.
The best awesome thanks biggie fan of your channel 💯 😅

John, what is your favorite way to cook Pollock? Fish and chips? Would love to see some more catch and cook videos.

Love the guy next to you shouting John I love your channel whilst you were showing your fish 😂 best fishing show going since Rex hunt lol 😎💪🏼
Haha. Wasn’t sure you’d hear that. 🤣
Good looking fish man👍🏻
Thank you.
Love the fishing videos!
Thank you.
Another great vid, John loved it. Pollock used to be so prolific here in Brixham but sadly no more gill netting had the lot.
Wreck netting here has destroyed the wreck fishing.
Another great video John I remember fishing off a boat off Dunbar for cod & pollock I was fishing without any rag or lug worm & the pollock were taking my silver hooks I had a great day when I was a boy many moons ago 🐟🎣😂😂

Excellent as usual but the disturbed water disturbs me Hi Many thanks
Haha. 🤢
Fascinating as always, and takes me back to jigs and rigs; live bait was lugworm, ragworm, limpet squid and cockles; usually worked best on plaice.
This one made me seasick lol.
Haha. Sorry.
I see my favorite chef coming soon to a kitchen near you …. Lol good catching 👍
Thank you.
hook size would make you smile. im on the upper severn at the end of july , size 16 and 18 for the grayling. fishing can be a different game
Haha. I usually don’t use them unless there’s an /0 behind the number. 😬
Nice session with some good table fish. I see you went lefty with the low profile reel. I did try that and it left me totally confused! 😂
It’s the same as light fixed spool fishing mate.
Great days fishing John 👍

Great sport, John. I've been using the same Sidewinder casting jigs plus Savages Gear ones, quite similar. I've been changing the trebles out for inline 2.0 and 3.0 lure hook singles, Mustad and Savage Gear. Also increased the front single by a size or two. Thanks for the video, mate.
I keep the trebles on the tail as they bend out from snags, singles have a heavier gauge and I lose more lures that way.
Awesome little session mate 👍
