  • Inspired by Max Niessl's videos. Except way crappier. For actually good videos visit his channel! This is more for having someone to play along to and to learn the song more or less all the way through.
This was made with the tabs currently uploaded on Songsterr, which are inaccurate to say the least. I tried modifying them before uploading to make it better, but some errors still remain. Don't follow the tabs as much as you should follow what I'm doing with the guitar. Don't follow me when I fuck up the timing on the full bar harmonics part though :P
For example, after the second chorus, the chord progression ends in a D power chord instead of D#, so it transitions better to the following riff.
Also the harmony solo notes are very desynched with the actual song. No way around that, even with speeding up the tab clip or slowing it down.
For those who want to make these types of videos:
Record the tab program with OBS, Color Key the background out with either OBS or Premiere, and then overlay it upon a clip of you playing the guitar. Then you can adjust the clips to fit the song, so even if the tab is inaccurate it doesn't matter THAT much. If you want to do it properly, make the tab yourself as Max Niessl does. It takes a lot of work, but the results are very noticeable.

not crappy at all man really really good video !! I read the last paragraph of the description but since my technical knowledge is crap I couldn't really understand the process, lastly how can you make the tab yourself as max niessl does? which program / app do you suggest? or any tutorial I can watch? thanks a lot for the video again :))

Damn, you must be one of those few souls that read the description all the way through!
Well, it's simple really. OBS is a streaming software that lets you apply some filters. And Adobe Premiere, I'm sure you know, lets you both capture video and apply filters as OBS does, but also lets you edit it together in a coherent video.
If you capture your screen with it, and then you apply the Color Key filter (which works kinda like chroma key) it just looks for X color that you want to remove from the image, and replaces it with another color.
I did this twice, once in OBS to replace all the space behind the tabs with magenta, and once more to remove the magenta in Premiere and put my video in the back, but it can be done once.
The correct way would be to do this same process but with Adobe Premiere, which I'm sure you can find a tutorial online on how to do the following 3 things:
      1. Capture your desktop with Premiere
      2. Apply Color Key / Chroma Key filters to a clip (and at the same time get an add-on that lets you modify your browser's colors, or touch up the pages' code to change the background to something easy to color key out, like magenta or green, although green can't be used for Songsterr since there are words in green fonts. You could change this up if you touched up the page somehow) .
      3. Edit a video with Premiere (this includes: cropping audio and video clips, and making sure they're properly synced. Since I use a separate software for my audio than for my video, I had to match them up manually).
That's the exact three things I had to figure out to make this.
If you bought a green screen and had some nice lighting you could color key out whatever is behind you and you could overlay the guitar playing on top of something else, but that is more expensive and harder to edit to make it look ok.

Hi, what's the tunning for acoustic?

    • @tommapar
      @tommapar  Рік тому +3

I use the same tuning as for the whole song. It's Drop D, then you tune down your G string to F, and your B down to A, but you keep your high E string on E, if I'm not mistaken.
I don't know if it's an Open D tuning or something like that, but it surely is quite awkward, lol.
