If you haven’t guessed, in this video we’re going to be making a live-edge epoxy river table out of a couple of walnut slabs. This one is a beaut, let me know what you guys think about it down below!

Amazing
Thanks Jack!
Job well done! Looks great.
Thanks! Appreciate you checking out the build!
Good job man. Looks great.
Thanks!
Table looks 👀 fantastic!! I’m trying to figure out the best way to pour my epoxy river table in a two car garage without climate control. Was this an issue at all for you? Temperature/humidity effects on the epoxy? Thanks 😊
Edit; I guess I should’ve watched the video prior to making this comment 😂 I was thinking of doing this too. What was your thermostat temperature set at for this pour?
Haha no worries, I had it kept at 70 degrees F.
You better leave my sister alone!!! 😤 🤍🤍
🤣🤣
Pulled this from the web…I’ve heard that black walnut is not conducive for animal bedding materials…”Black walnut shavings are not recommended. Black walnut (Juglans nigra) wood shavings can elicit clinical signs of laminitis or founder within 8 to 24 hours of coming in contact with the bedding. Consumption of the bedding may also cause laminitis signs as well as colic.”
Sawdust is not good bedding because your active chickens will kick up a fine dust and that will cause respiratory issues. Also, be aware that not all types of wood makes for good bedding. Cedar and oak can be caustic, and black walnut is very dangerous for some animals. Pine shavings used as chicken coop bedding.
Huh - I’ve never heard that before. I’ll mention it to my buddy who owns the farm/chicken coop. 👍🏽
Not sure if it's a cheeky question, but what was the profit?
Unfortunately, there is no profit on this piece. It's one we're keeping - I just grabbed the estimated value based on similar tables (wood species, size, resin color) on Etsy. If I had to guess, I'd say including labor costs, I'd make somewhere around the 2500 (USD) range for this piece. All depends on finding the slabs and what kind the customer wants. Hope that helps!
