I'm in the middle of building this bed through FourEyes Furniture. I agree with Donny - - solid plans and videos. One feature I like about these plans is that you can post questions on any chapter you happen to be working through, and other woodworkers (as well as Chris and Shawn) will respond and help you solve your problems. Very cool.
Great video. I enjoyed seeing the bed in walnut as opposed to white oak. I also appreciated the comment at the end about the headboard being mostly covered up. I am about to get started and this helped me narrow down my wood choice.
Great video and best review one could hope for! I recently bought plans for the glenn lounge chair. I would probably make one from cheap pine first before using expensive wood :D hopefully that should build some confidence. I am planning to make a bed as well (queen size) but using inspiration from thuma bed with castle joints. I am planning to use ikea metal central support beam along with their slats instead of making it out of wood. My experience with wood support beams has been mixed at max. The curved nature of ikea slats and metal support beam is tried and tested! Thanks again!
Been sleeping in it for several months now - rock solid. Kids jump on it, dog hops up, no wobble to speak of. Between the hardware design and the slats, there just isn’t any room for it. Thanks for checking out the video 👍🏽
$90 is steep. I'm afraid to buy the plans and then not have all the tools to make it. I do not have a table router, bandsaw, spindle sander or domino. Do you think this bed could be made without those?
@@number6803 it would be tough, but I don’t think it’s be impossible. I’d say you need - table saw, handheld router, jig saw, and then either a doweling jig or pockethole jig of some sort
You’d have to alter the leg sizes to go up higher. But in theory you could scale everything higher. But I’m really a fan of the platform height, easy for the kiddos to climb in and out of
Great video. It makes the beautiful furniture less scary for beginners-intermediate woodworkers! Also good feedback on Foureyes build kits.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed the project !🤙🏽💯
What a great job you did !!!!! Bravo
Thanks Danny! Appreciate that man 👍🏽

Pumped to get a new video!
Thanks bro! Lovin the support !
How solid is this bed, does the frame skew or twist or wobble? Apart from that, good review, thanks!

Sweet!!!! How do you like that bandsaw
Thanks man!
She ran like a beaut haha. It was good to actually put it to use!
These are not just plans. They are exactly what the name states, "a woodworking COURSE".
Haha you’ll find no arguments here m’man 🤷🏽♂️👍🏽
Hey Donny! Great video as always.
Did you move? Your garage looks bigger
Hey man! Thanks a ton! Yeah, we did (which is why I hadn’t posted in awhile). Thinking of a quick shop tour video sometime in the near future 👍🏽
What wood species did you use? I might have missed this in the video.
I used American Walnut for this build. Thanks for checking out the video!

Could you add a bigger head board in post?
