- This is an acoustic/live/looped version of a new original of mine that should be available on iTunes, Amazon, Spotify and hopefully everywhere music is streamed today. The studio version of, Never Meant To has some different arrangements and a lot more keyboard pads but it’s basically the same song I play for you here. I want to thank Dave Roenbeck or @Dave Beck here on YT for sending me a Guitar Center credit that he said I could put to better use than him. I took it as an opportunity to buy something that I could never justify myself but that I thought might be a very useful tool for someone that tends to play more than one part of a song. I’ve experimented with looping for months now with this pedal and on Ableton and I’m beginning to imagine some live possibilities that this sort of technology might open up for me. Thank you Dave for your generosity and I’ll continue to try to make good use of your gift.

I’m going to continue to focus on writing and recording over the summer and I hope to make it a cornerstone of some sort of music career. I never take your support lightly and I’ll continue to try to improve my songwriting and recording. I hope, Never Meant To connects with some of you and thanks again for any and all interest in my original music.
I’m 14 years old and I want to be a musician when I grow up. I try to play many instruments but the one that I feel most at home on is a drum set. I would say the only thing that impresses me more than a great musician is a great songwriter so I also spend some of my time trying to learn the magic of songwriting. I thought it would help me keep focused on music if I started a drum series where I learned a new song every couple of weeks. After 4 years, it’s now turned into a larger musical search but my goal hasn’t changed. Hopefully, I will keep doing it, keep loving music and keep getting better.

YES! I'm coming to town during the CMA's this year and was planning on seeing you at the Listening Room when I was there. Will you play this during the round? I've been watching some of Stephen Taylors lessons on drums. "Is he kidding me"
there is that much to learn just to play the drums. I had no idea.... My Applause to you and the rest of you drummers!
I've flown an airplane and it was less complicated then learning to play drums!
How ever....when I said I want to land it, he started hollering " Nooo Oooooooo "
I believe I could have done it
even with hearing " Hit the brakes, hit the brakes..get it as we go off the runway..lol

:) I think it's a specific sort of skill that is a lot easier to learn if you have limb independence but I would never claim it's complicated. I know it's all relative though. Stephen is a Nashville guy.

What you did was really cool. Nice.
:D It took me a lot longer than I had planed to figure out how I was going to work with a looping pedal since my songs aren't generally built on a single repeating pattern but I've actually worked out two originals now with it and I've got a pretty good handle on how I could utilize it and looping in general with my style of music. Thank you again Dave and I think it will see a whole lot of use now.

I love it! And wow, when you say you got a looper, you got a LOOPER. 😎 I got an RC-1 a few months ago and never messed with it, but I think today will be the day. Thanks for the (unintentional) encouragement!
Ha! I know, I would never have gotten the big dog if it didn't feel like found money but it's pretty cool. They work the easiest with the looping style songs that build on a single theme but you can do a ton if you start to utilize multiple tracks and lay it out just right. It really turns into more like a portable, live studio.

It's basically a sequencer but it can loop any sound or source I have and has some cool control for layering and turning things off and on, on the fly. Thanks for listening to any of my originals.

and then it ended. So I'm sitting in the store in a tranquil state of mind, not realizing no music was even
playing....then it came to me

This song might have a better shot at being soothing than the one I just recorded :) It's got a few screams in it and some more distortion, but I really appreciate the general message. I hope I can write songs that make you feel something since I think that's the real power of music for me. It certainly won't be the same feeling on each song but any connection at all with what I write feels like a step in the right direction for me - thanks Dave.

thank you! I know right.. he sent a comment and said he had a guitar center credit and he put it my name. I said wow, that's cool I need to buy a chord and thanks.. He wrote, "this credit will buy more than a cord". Anyway, it was all a bit strange at first but he said he wasn't going to use it and he knew I would :) He was right, I'm in there every couple of weeks.

OMG, that was amazing! You keep getting better and better. A recent Pete Thorn video talked about other UA-cam musicians complaining about copyright strikes. His advice was to just play original music. Keep going and you'll have a million subscribers and a nice music career.
