Just the fact that there are at least three women around at the moment that can run faster than the record set by Tirunesh is ridiculous. The fact that they can run so much faster is mind blowing. I know, better trainers, faster tracks, etc. it's still incredible.

Yeah and all 3 - Tsegay, Gidey, Kipyegon - are still in the right age band and can compete with each other.
And if motivated enough I feel sure that a certain Hassan can also get very close to these women too!
(At the very least she could be the best pacer in history in a WR attempt, if she focuses on longer stuff now)

I'm not usually one for predictions, but I will say it seems more likely than not that sometime next season the 14:00 barrier will be broken in the women's 5000m, and the 2 hour barrier broken in the men's marathon. An astounding possibility.

I stopped regularly watching television about 1984 (the Los Angeles Olympics) due to the excessive number of advertisements found in that medium's programming, and I've stopped watching other YT channels due to integrated ads. But I understand a lot of web video producers are integrating commercials into their videos these days to get around demonitization. It an "in-flux" situation right now, so it remains to be seen how many folks who regularly view videos from TRP and other sites will disappear in the future.
