This week, Coach Albaugh heads to Jacksonville, FL and visits Coach Thomas MacPherson of Orange Park High School. We have coined Coach Mac the Wizard of the Whiteboard. He is fantastic when it comes to talking football.

Great video coach. Love the collaboration between you two. Would love to see a video where you talk about how your 3-3 stack would defend coach Mac's offense. Do you see a good amount of Spread offenses in Illinois?

Oh yeah! 7 of the 9 teams we played were mostly Spread.

So you must have gotten some good tips on how to defend it?

Well, it's like everything else in the game, you learn little by little as you go. Some things you learn by trial and error and some you pick up or steal from other coaches.

When you wham to the 2i, you are obviously getting the guard to 2nd level to get to the LB immediately. The outside release really makes a good false key for the 2i.
What if a team has a 1-shade on the center and allows the NT to come down and spill the trap/wham by the sniffer? Does this make it tougher to run that play?
The only reason I am asking this is because if the Center blocks back, it should look just like a down block to the 1-shade, allowing him to close down.
P.S. I know this increases to bubble to that side, but like anything in defensive football, you give up one to take away another.
