RPO, Run Pass Option, Wheel Routes,
Yep I saw this early from Texas against Bama I believe and it looked so good.
Assuming 2 high, What is great too is if the field safety tries to spin to the boundary with the motion to take away the glance wheel flat into the boundary you now have one on one to the field with the single receiver. Or next wrinkle you send the back post snap to the field flat with a field WR glance and can run Q dart.
If they spin to the boundary to take away glance/wheel/flat pre snap you can read the field box LB if he chases the back or tries to wall the field WR and field corner takes away the back you still have a run play against a 5 man box that you can block them all!
Apologize if this doesn’t make sense. Sometimes typing out something like this doesn’t make sense but talking it out loud/drawing it makes more sense.
All good
As a Bama fan, all I can remember from that game is the penalties they committed. All 15 of them. I can see why Bama almost lost that game. That RPO that Texas was doing was pretty deadly. If a team commits 15 penalties, they're most likely going to lose that game despite how they are, and how bad the other team is.
What is the answer if you get a cloud corner?
Cloud Corner would be the flat defender who is probably responsible for the wheel. They would then have to match the ILB on the Flat Route if the end is a chase player. You can also mess with the fits by locking the End and reading the backer or using a similar theory with a sniffer iso blocking the LB. It's always a numbers game.
We run that as well. We call it Swipe and run it off of a lead play and call it when they load the box as a counter instead of a read. It is good either way. But run it as a called play with the number 1 and 2 on a seam and go as what we term ROB routes, or Run Off Blocks.
Great play for sure!!!
Thanks coach!
Coach Mac is back with another Gem! Thank you for the RPO
Thank You
Could you explain the QB read to me? Give/pull on the 5, then what? Thanks!
Flat defender, carry wheel throw flat. No carry throw wheel
@@CoachMac thanks coach!
Gamestrat is the 🐐
So what’s the QB reading with the 5 technique? If he sits hand it, and if he crashes pull it?
Yes, but sometimes i think based on the look the QB may know what he is throwing
@@CoachMac Thanks I appreciate it!
Big fan of this concept
It’s basically a mix between the run and shoot slide and 3 man snag
I think it makes an excellent play action pass which will allow the qb to progression read it wheel, flat, snag ad opposed to trying to hit those routes on the fly vs an unblocked 5 tech
Love It!!!!
Check laser!
