- This camp I head out to a Craggy Edge in the Northumberland countryside,
Virtually in the middle of nowhere, Expecting to see no one, And who turns up from the other direction, The Back Packing Geordie, Phil, We had a chat and a pleasant evening,
The wind, mist and heavy rain came in, and it was a blowy night.

Nice spot Adrian you are the top bivvi and tarp camper of the Northeast that hooped bivvi is working out well for you nice of Phil to drop by for a visit 😂 only joking he's a canny lad atvb Jimmy 😎😎👍👍
Hi Jimmy, yes what was the chance of that, both from different directions and heading for the same spot
It’s a great location for sure
Cheers Adrian
Cool camp Adrian, stunning views as always, I used my british army bivvy bag last night (had a center 3'zip put in ,easier to get in and out of the bivvy bag now), with my tarp, no condensation, just like the Dutch hooped bivvy, the crags look so inviting for a camp, tbf, everywhere you look up there does lol, good health and safe travels my friend, cheers craig
Hi Craig and thanks for watching, yes it’s pretty much unspoiled up here with so many spots to choose, haven’t even started with the coast yet ! With is empty as so cold !!! Your bivy sound good I will watch out for it
Cheers Adrian
a other nice one 👍
Hi and thanks for watching
Glad you enjoyed it
Cheers
The guy lines anchored to the cliffs edge scared me for you. So easy to trip over in the night. You are a well seasoned wild camper and you know what you’re doing. I had to keep telling myself this through out the video 😅
Hi and thanks for watching
Glad you are enjoying the videos
So tempting to go near the edges !!
Cheers
Another great trip and amazing scenery.
Hi and thanks for watching
Glad you are enjoying the camps
Got to end up with a no views camp soon !!!!
Cheers
Smashing place up there Adrian and great that you got to meet Phil too. There are some great pitches right on the crag top 👍
Hi Graham, yes a great spot, loads of pitches but limited parking
Cheers Adrian
Another lovely one Adrian. Bivy and tarp....music to my ears!
Hi and thanks for watching
Glad you are enjoying the tarp and bivy camps
Cheers
Come over from Helen and Katarin Jusk-Law - recommendation. Absolutely loving your videos. Not an area I know but your system and camping is inspiring. Thank yu for making and sharing your videos, Stella Jorgensson.
Hi thanks for watching and welcome, hope you enjoy the videos, mainly tarp and bivy as I enjoy the openness of them.
Cheers
@@northumberlandmountainhopper I and my friends also enjoy the tarp and bivvy. So much nicer than being enclosed. Stella.
That Northumberland Plank I was shouting NO NO
You could have been just the weight to tip it & you over the edge, as the fulcrum point was exceeded.
Nice Spot and great video.
Hi and thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed the video,
Think those crags are safe they are so old
Cheers
Really enjoyed all the content. Weather just getting better in the South now, hope to get out soon. The reviews you produce are so helpful , especially the gear for filming. One tip for you, when you leave early morning in the thick mist, make sure you walk the right way .
Hi and thanks for watching
Glad you enjoy the videos
Cheers
@@northumberlandmountainhopper I like to see you make tea, it’s the ASMR in me no doubt. Wouldn’t be the same without making a brew. I use a Meths stove, love it. I have the Swedish Army Kit,
1:21 - Ahh, the number of times I’ve gone “taters deep” in one of those water-filled puddles! I remember on MR training, one lad coming back soaked up to the armpits. That brackish water makes your boots stink too.
Hi and thanks for watching lol
Yes I have started testing all puddles !
And they do make boots stink
Cheers
Great to watch
Hi and thanks for watching
Glad you enjoyed it
Cheers
Such a nice little camp and a lovely location, those craggy cliff edges are so tempting to look over, makes me shudder, but you just can't help but look. Cheers Adrian another good one 👍
Hi and thanks for watching, yes a cracking spot and yes oh so tempting to get too close
Cheers
That’s a great spot Adrian, Shame the spring weather hasn’t fully come in yet. The speedster stove is a great little set up too.
Hi Shaun thanks for watching
Glad you liked the spot
Love the stove
Cheers
Magic ! We're a recent subscriber, however, we enjoy watching your trips ,especially ones with Graham. And that's how your great channel popped up on the radar. Thank you for filming your trips and your narration as you travel😊. 🫡🫵👍🏼
Hi and thanks for watching, glad you enjoy the videos
Cheers
Got to ask where this is, I must visit, amazing camp area. Just the views at the top, the sort which could make anyone chill out
Hi and thanks for watching, glad you like it, locations ! Well sorry to say, not many are giving locations away, due to over use of spots, but the clues are in the video and use a map of Northumberland,
Cheers Adrian
Understood, just looks amazing would love to take the boys there. Try and tempt them in a great hobby
Was up there this Friday but got there late and had to pitch well back from the crags as was running out of light. The climb up the front of the crags following the marked path is brutal, I'm guessing you came in from the East and Phil from the West the sensible way 😂
Hi and thanks for watching, yes it’s steep, I came in from the lough path, it’s a gentle walk
Cheers
Great to meet you mate, what were the chances of that. Really nice having company thanks for the shout out.
Hi Phil
Yes a great chance encounter and what turned out a pleasant evening
Put your link in my description now
Cheers Adrian
Another great relaxing video with a cracking camp Adrian and what a beautiful spot even in the rain 👍
Hi and thanks for watching
Yes the spots are coming thick and fast with so much choice
Cheers
Nice spot that Adrian, well said regarding the naming of locations 🙌. Lovely set up as always, keeping it simple but still a thoroughly enjoyable video. Cheers, Dave 👍
Hi Dave and thanks for watching
Glad you are enjoying the videos
Has to be a bivy if I can lol
Cheers Adrian
Might give that tentfood
...a go. Looks nice. Looked a nice spot.
Hi and thanks for watching
Yes tasty and small pack size
Hope you enjoy the videos
Cheers
awesome thanks for the vid I'm stuck in hospitial here in nz with a fractured leg enjoying this film
Hi and thanks for watching from afar
Glad you are enjoying the videos
Get well soon
Cheers
Another great video Adrian. No disrespect to Phil but id be proper pissed off if someone came over and pitched near me when there is so much space. But im an anti social git when it comes to wild camping as rarely get time to myself. Still envious of you mate lol
Hi and thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed the video, to be fair Phil did ask if I wanted company, we both turned up to the same crags, so we made the most of it, had a chat in the evening, then went in respective shelters, I do like a quiet camp normally but it made a change, I am pretty solitary myself !
Cheers
Nice one again Adrian. Can you say which Speedster set up you have? I love you filming the stove 😀
Hi again and thanks for watching so many so quick, it’s just the one he sells to go with the Alpkit miti mug
Cheers
Some cracking looking crags up there mate , is that the Dutch army hooped bivi then ? I had loads of condensation in my snugpack hooped on the last camp . I might give my British army one a run out next time . Atb Dave
Hi Dave, thanks for watching and yes a great spot, yes it’s a Dutch army hooped bivy I have had no condensation since I started using it, as you have the hood to stop draughts you can vent a bit at the side, heavy at 1.6 kg but hey I love a bivy me !!!
Cheers Adrian
Another brilliant camp and the views were stunning, what editing suite do you use.
Hi and thanks for watching
Glad you enjoyed it,
Editing suite lol it’s called an I phone and I movie nothing special for me
Cheers
@@northumberlandmountainhopper Thank you
I am relay enjoying these videos
Hi and thanks for watching
Glad you enjoy the videos
Cheers
Thanks Adrian for showing me the crags. I only know it from Google Earth where the pics are of poor resolution. You and Graham have shown me the place well enough.
Hi Damian and thanks for watching
It’s a great spot
Cheers Adrian
Hi Adrian, I've been subbed for a while now, but rarely comment. Every video you post I think right, I must camp in some of those spots, then you come out with another cracking video/spot, I'm being overwhelmed with choices. I am over in the Scottish Borders, and often your camera pans over in the direction I live, when your in the Cheviots, which is nice to see. I camped on the Schil last weekend, and the views were stunning with a cracking sunset, but like your video the next day was a white out.
Anyway I waffle.
Thanks for the video, and keep up the good work.
Atb cheers Stuart.
Hi and thanks for watching, yes don’t know how to fit all the spots in ! Time is so short, my favourite part of the Cheviots is by the Border wall with the views to all the hill forts on your side
I have to start on the lower part of the border soon
Did not realise you had a channel just checking it out and subbed
Cheers
I find your videos very relaxing. I think your probably an adopted geordie by now, as soon as "ya lorn te taak proper like".. Keep them coming. 👌
Hi and thanks for watching
Glad you enjoy the what I hope are chilled videos
Cheers
Nice one again Adrian, I think I know that spot , another one on my list 😜, thanks for sharing again atb Deka 👍🏻👊🏻
Hi Deka thanks for watching
Well worth the visit it’s a great spot
Cheers
Hello great channel.
Just wondering how much all your gear weighs ???
Hi and thanks for watching
Without water this kit is 11.07 kg
Hooped bivy heavy at 1.6kg lighter in the summer without the down gear
Cheers
Thanks for the reply.
I think I'll try a bivy.
Adrian, in settings, hold comments you haven't viewed and delete any you don't approve. Dude lovely location, ATB.
Hi Damian, glad to see you enjoying the videos, thanks for the advice, not really any dodgy comments yet 🤞
Cheers Adrian
This reply is hiding ?
@@northumberlandmountainhopper Not sure what you mean by, "this reply is hiding" your comment is visible to me. I have all comments held for review by default unless its an approved user. That stops dodgy comments which I sometimes get.
Hi Damian,I must have a glitch as sometimes my reply’s don’t show at my end

Shame about the morning view but how wonderful to be woken to the birdsong. Thanks for sharing again
Hi and thanks for watching, can’t believe how many nice spots must be out there waiting for a camp
Cheers
Adrian, top draw video as always and as usual very much appreciated so a big thumbs up from deepest Dorset 👍 My only question is what brand of meths stove are you using? and is it pot specific?! ATB👍
Hi and thanks for watching
Glad you are enjoying the videos
Link for stove in description
It’s just the wind shield to go with the Alpkit Miti Mug and his small brass burner
Cheers
This is a great video. Can you tell me exactly where you went? I live close to Northumberland and am always on the look out for places. Thanks 😊
Hi and thanks for watching
All I can say is the clues are in the videos
As many land owners don’t approve I don’t name the spots anymore
Cheers
