  • Today we check out the Meteor65 brushless 65mm whoop by BetaFPV. We take this beast of a micro quadcopter and put it on the track to see how she stacks up. Does the Meteor65 stand a chance?

    I put the bt2.0 on helination faf batteries and they are fantastic. The RDQ ones are nice to but the FAF are my favorite. Also the tinywhoop 0802 20500kv will give you the power you want to pull out of the higher to lower gates and still get the same flight times

    Thanks for a great VID! Did your Special Edition with the DSMX come with it integrated into the AIO board or a separate component that you can remove and use on another quad?
    I am looking to get the FrSKY version, but I fly Crossfire and not sure if I should get a PNP and add it or if I can remove the FrSky receiver and add my own... any info you can share about your quad?

    Awesome video great review. That’s some sweet flying. Do you fly the tiny whoop in angle or acro? I bought some of those connectors and switched my tinyhawk s to those connectors. There is definitely an improvement from the jst 2.0. A little longer flight time and not near as much voltage drops as before with the 2.0 connectors.

      Thanks. I fly angle mode on my whoops. Look back in my video history and you'll find a video explaining why.

    Hey John E! I’m just getting into FPV quads and I’ve been looking for this video for months! I bought this same quad from BetaFPV. I also have the same radio you have. I’ve had no luck finding info on setting these two up! I upgrade to Betaflight 4.2 when I got this whoop and ever since then I can’t even get it to bind. Is there anyway you can run me through the setup of this thing to get it up and running on the ix12?

    Sounds like I made the right decision buying the freestyle version, even though I plan to race it. I looked at the advertised flight time on 'em and thought it was a no brainer. 😁👍

    Thanks for the review! You say it's the best whoop you ever used, but that was only after you changed the motors and the camera angle. You didn't like how it flew stock, right?
    What version of betaflight were you using on it?

    • @JohnEFly
      @JohnEFly  4 роки тому +1

      They also sell it with the 19500kv motors as an option, so you can buy it with that combo stock. The camera mount I used came with it in the box, they just installed the higher tilt by default. With the default 22000kv motors and higher tilt mount, no I didn't like it. But I wasn't configure what I changed cheating since you can buy it with all of those components for the same price.
      Betaflight was the stock 3.5.7 betaflight.

    ?
    Id like to see what proffesionals tunes look like

    • @JohnEFly
      @JohnEFly  4 роки тому +3

      Thanks! This is stock tune, pitch/roll rates aren't used in angle mode, yaw rate is 2.05 rate .2 super rate currently (some of this video may have used something different, I've changed it over time) and my angle limit is 60 and angle strength is 100.

    Have you done the Mobula test yet?

    • @JohnEFly
      @JohnEFly  4 роки тому +1

      I've been working on a mobula review for a month now... Let's say it hasn't gone so well and I've been doing everything to give it the benefit of the doubt. My first mobula arrived DOA. My second one worked, but it broke before too long. I have it flying again, but not flying well, and still trying to get the first mobula replaced from happymodel (a month later). I love the Meteor, but the Mobula is definitely a more capable quad. But the Meteor is also easier to fly and be consistent with.

    The 22000kv motors are too much, drain power fast. 19500kv are perfect. The meteor65 is my go to 1s class race quad. I have the mobula6 and it is a better build and lighter but no matter what I can't get it flying as smooth as the meteor65. Canopy is trash on the meteor and so is the camera but I will fly it over the mob6 anyday. Hail the Newbeedrone 300mah hv. I stop flying as soon as it hits 3.4v I don't understand why people think they can run 1 cells down to 3.0v it kills longevity ...

  • @zachbishop3795
    @zachbishop3795 4 роки тому

    It rips harder and faster then anything its size. I'm not sure you can even build one faster. The one upgrade though would be 4 blade props but it wouldn't last long enought for a race, so keep it on three 🤣🤣🤣
    Also that black Friday version is the best and always buy black frames they are stronger and more ridged
