The Eagles are somewhat common in regional parks. Snapping the cable also means that of the ride goes fast enough you can rapidly turn the car in a way to where the cables become slack for just a moment to "snap" back and give the rider a bit of a jolt. Some parks slow them down to prevent snapping.
Snapping the cables is a bit of an artform :) If you do it right it will elicit a loud crack and the tub will careen out of control, which makes the ride even more fun. It is fun seeing those in line turn pale when it is done and they don't know it is possible. :)
Well said on 'SNAPPING'! I've done it many a time at Conneaut Lake park, PA, USA, Cedar Point Ohio, USA. Decades ago a park called Euclid Beach Park in Euclid-Cleveland Ohio (closed 1969 had the Largest one ever made. I was 7 when it closed but remember it well.) I LOVE the Flying Scooters!
You turn hard left all the way in- if you time it just right with a switch to hard right the cable will snap and you'll swing way farther out than everyone else. I remember my mom used to do it with my sister and I at Kings Island when I was a kid- I used to think we would for sure hit the surrounding trees! Great times! Very fun ride!
I still really want the game to have a coaster that has elements where it can go backwards and have vertical drops like thirteen and expedition Everest, plus the gondola style chair lift
I think everest has eight block zones. For those that don't know on roller coasters a block zone is a section of ride only one train can occupy at any given time. This is a safety system that keeps trains from colliding. It's also how Rollercoasters are able to have multiple trains running simultaneously. Everest has eight. So they can run seven trains simultaneously... Eltororyan made a really good video problematic coasters everest anyone who wants to try and build it in planet coaster should watch.
Hello! I am 5 or 6 years late and I finally purchased Planet Coaster on my computer. Used to play RCT as a kid and went to parks and observe rides to recreate. Your videos about all your ride information has helped me decide which packs to get and what I should anticipate. I don’t know how many in community still play planet coaster currently but am excited to start my own park again.
I absolutely loved that they were open and honest about the bug and pushed back the release to fix it. When so many other developers don't take that higher road, it's nice when the devs I'm personally invested in show that integrity.
American here. Disneyland Resort used to have a Screaming Eagle type ride called Flik's Flyers at A Bug's Land in California Adventure. It was closed (along with all of A Bug's Land) to make way for a Marvel area.
Yea that flying eagle is pretty common in the USA, although I don't ever remember it being painted an eagle. I've seen roosters, fish, and just plain colors. Also, travelling fairs have them too I think. As far as the 'snapping' goes, if you wiggle the thing in the front back and forth (which directs airflow) the car you're riding in snaps back and forth somewhat violently. That said, these are pretty smooth and gentle but fun, especially since you can control the cars.
I rode the "Swift Eagles" for my first time at Darien Lake, NY, USA (Called Hornet's Nest). The ride is quite fun because you get to interact with it (you can steer the rudder to catch air, which swings your car a bit).
Snapping the car on the Swift makes a loud snapping noise, we called it a snap back at one of the parks that I worked out. It involves getting the car up to its top height and getting it to go back down quickly
I would say that the "planco scale" droptower actually is realistic this time, lots of theme parks have the 100m version of those :p happy they added both a big and small version, frontier did great!
I've never seen an Eagle in real life and I've been to many a funfair in America. It appears as though the passenger can control the eagle using wind and the large flaps. The footprint of the machinery on this looks 'temporary' like it can fold up quickly and get back on the road. I think the software development on this item is very complex and Frontier did a great job on it.
Knoebels grove the home of the bobsled coaster that you love so much, is also home to an old swift eagles ride. It is super crazy cause you can snap the carts around and end up really really high up. I think they call it knoebels flyer. There are videos of kids snapping the carts.
I've riden the eagle ride although i dont think they had eagle paint on it. was pretty cool at my time as a kid I loved it the main thing I was able to control how far out or in I was able to go
Need an omnimover. Need a boat ride with rows of seats (WITHOUT A ROOF!), similar to Small World/Pirates of the Caribbean style boats. And more scenery of course, can always use more scenery.
The Eagles ride is present in Lagoon Park in Farmington Utah. Named the Flying Aces, each of the ride vehicles is themed as a different ace pilot's plane, such as the Red Baron. Been there since the first time I went to the park, at least 30 years.
That Eagle ride: there's a handle on the front "sail" that you can move to soar outwards or dive down. If you flip it back and forth quickly at the right time it makes a loud noise on the cables that hold the cars. Many parks have rules against snapping. Conneaut Lake has one of the older models if you want to see what a real one looks like
The eagle ride could work in the 60's Americana (I have no clue how to spell the word you always use that people got angry about) area of pinewood where it has the eagles on it
The flying eagle is the first ride I ever rode in my life, it's at my local amusement park called Knoebels. It's pretty popular for younger people and parents.
Just started playing Planet Coster last year and found your channel. Knotts Berry Farm has a Swift Eagle ride but it’s not themed to an eagle. It’s just a “flying ride” it is located where Perlious Plunge used to be across from Hangtime.
the Swift Eagle is like "Plane Crazy" in Oakwood, UK. Except the Oakwood one is obviously planes, not eagles. I rode it on a windy day when I was a kid, managed to touch a nearby tree after getting the oscillation just right with the wind. The ride got shut down for the rest of the day - worth it.
The Eagle ride is so fun! I've been on several and the riders control the height of the cars by turning the wing. I love them because there are very few adult rides that let the riders control the movements. They're very fun
Snapping the cables is fun as hell haha. The operators at Knoebel's let you do it. The ride is so old, that it's powered by a diesel engine connected to a gear chain
Oakwood in Wales has one of the "swift eagles". Themed to Tinkerbell making it look like a kids ride but its actually a decent flat. That's the only one I've been on in the UK though
The eagle ride is a favorite among my kids (US) so I was really excited to see it in the pack. However, a bit disappointed that the eagle head is always there. The ride near us is called lakeside gliders. You can control how fun the ride is by moving the front panel back and forth to dip the glider and cut through the wind.
yeah, but its better ^^ no, really. The Intamin LSM launches are great, forceful coasters, but they break down a lot. Macks are a bit tamer, but run better.
There is a ride like Swift Eagles at Oakwood in Wales :) didn't get to ride it because it was closed the day we visited. Also it's the only one I've seen.
Every park in the Cedar Fair chain has flying skooters like Swift Eagles, also Grand Carousel are a staple of pretty much every American amusement park, not just family parks, Cedar Point has multiple carousels, including a Derby Racer which isn’t in the game but it’s not an essential ride the game needs, I think this is my favorite DLC, I’m very happy with this pack.
Swift Eagles are easily one of the most common rides in American parks and are manufactured in real life by Larson which is the company that also manufactures Super loops like Hellion Ring
Regarding Tracker, Beauty and the Beast will actually be the second of these rides at Tokyo Disneyland, the first being Pooh’s Hunny Hunt. Huntsman is based on Mystic Manor at Hong Kong Disneyland btw. Also on real chairlifts with turns like Skyride at Busch Gardens Tampa and the former Skyway at Magic Kingdom the ride goes back to ground level and does its turn on ground level then goes back up rather than turning up in the air
Thanks for showing us this update, I cant believe how far this game is coming from where it started! Have a great holiday and good break and look forward to your videos in 2019.... full time YAY!!!
Yes the flying eagle ride is here in the states. You know Hershey's Chocolate. Hershey Park has one that is located in Hershey, Pennsylvania. They have the chairlift ride too. Very popular here in the states.
Also check out the Great Bear rollercoaster and the Storm runner at Hershey Park, Hershey, Pennsylvania both like the new roller coasters we got in the game.
The swift eagles are a great addition! I wish we could customize them more but that ride has been something lots of people have been wanting. The eagle decals themselves actually come directly out of Cedar Point’s Version of that ride. All of these rides are super awesome and the MACK launched coaster I am just totally stoked for.
Great job Jonti. I always love your overviews. I agree with you on wanting more frontier designed scenery pieces but love that they're up for putting things in the game that we're begging for. I am most excited about the chairlift!!
6:00 Swift Eagle, I have actually been on one of these in the UK, Guilvers Land, The Whirlwind, which was themed with hot air balloons. Would love to be able to produce something like that rather than American eagles! I do think it is a shame this game doesn't give you more customisation for the flat rides.
"Snapping the cars" most likely refer to bouncing the cars. Since the eagles are on a cable, that can snap the cable, which will cause damage to the ride, and the occupant. However, it doesn't look like the cars of the old ride have any rider controls; but you can still do something like that on the Yo-Yo Swing rides by just bouncing. Flat ride operators at parks have to watch out for these things because well, they're all death traps, and it's better to prevent downtime in the long run than to have car bouncing on the plane ride Timmy likes that can damage and shut down the ride for a day or more.
Havent checked in with PC for a while. Did they ever make it so you could "link rides" so you could have 1 queue/2rides? It always struck me as wierd that you couldnt do something like the Materhorn with 1 "ride" 2 coasters. Or dbl up on capacity for some of the lower throughput stuff by having 2 of them (think WDW Dumbo).
the only cedar fair (a big amusement park chain) park I've been to without an eagle ride is Michigans adventure and thats got nothing good since thunderhawk
What I really want is them to add more cinematic kind of rides, like those where you go in and it moves you around like the simpsons one and then you see a lot in universal. With custom videos and stuff I think it would be great! Also would like to see shows added. You always see stunt shows and magic shows, etc. So it would be cool to have really high capacity shows with customisable routines and show times.
About the Eagle thing , it's probably based off the Lake Erie Eagles, a ride at Cedar Point which is an American amusement park. I actually live close enough to go there a couple of times a year. A lot of other American parks have them too. A little bit of an odd addition , but fun none the less 😂
Another amazing content! Speaking about the vekoma S.LC, if someday you come to Brazil, try the amusement park BETO CARRERO WORLD, the best of Latin América, they bring one of this models from the Suzuka racetrack! But they change the old over the sholder bars and bring new cars, so, the experience now is very smooth and confortable!
I am new to PC, and yet I recently bought the upgrade Magnificant but did not get the flat ride Power Moves. However, I did get the display background "view only." It does come with ads, scenes, and short videos as well. Did not get the Swift Eagle ride, no Mind Melt coaster, and I haven't seen the Tracker either. Be forewarned before purchasing this addition to Planet Coaster from Steam. Know the package inside and out before buying it because you only have so many days to get a refund or issue a protest with Steam. I'm sorry I am that person to complain about getting ripped off, but it is what it is. Thanks for all your videos. From now on, I will watch your channel before spending my hard-earned cash.
9:53 a good explanation of how that's named is in the video named: MACK Mega Coasters: Explained, by coasterbot. I'll post the link as a comment but in case it is banned look up that video.
They have one of those eagle swinger things at Oakwood in the Neverland area themed to Tinkerbell! I like it as an addition to the game, but yeah shame about the huge eagle decal, makes it look pretty murican by default.
Actually new ish chain lifts detached from the main line going into the station to slow down for people to get on the chair Older lifts do not slow down, because they don’t detach from the main line
I agree with everything! Awesome that Frontier was honest and held off on the release. Also glad to see they rides have a very plain theme. If they want to provide themes keep them as skins! Though I would like to see options to change things like the planes or the animals/vehicles on the carousel.
I'm very happy that they made a pack like this but there are way too many bugs. First, if you can see, the restraints on the chairlift stay up but then go down when it gets to the second station. Second, while building the new coasters if you try to invert a regular piece of the track it automatically flips it back right side up so you always have to align it up to 180 degrees.
The Eagles are somewhat common in regional parks. Snapping the cable also means that of the ride goes fast enough you can rapidly turn the car in a way to where the cables become slack for just a moment to "snap" back and give the rider a bit of a jolt. It’s not very hard with my excellent method... I go out, turn in, straight and repeat. I swings out and snaps hard, even on Larson flyers
But what cables... they look to be suspended by magic in this game .

I agree, I've always wanted them to add a coaster like everest, such agood ride!
You can make a similar ride with some of the boomerang rides!
I think everest has eight block zones. For those that don't know on roller coasters a block zone is a section of ride only one train can occupy at any given time. This is a safety system that keeps trains from colliding. It's also how Rollercoasters are able to have multiple trains running simultaneously. Everest has eight. i really want to be able toamek somthing that is like a preimuier rides almost multi-launch kind of ride
5:56 They have one of these at Great Escape, Six Flags, Lake George New York
If they've got the chairlift working in a way that it's constantly moving, it means they could do an omnimover like The Haunted Mansion.
I would personally love a Peoplemover style omnimover for outdoors.
@@andrewreegs6319 they have a peoplemover in the game but forgot what DLC
waiit... that means we can do peter pan's flight!
@@ThoosieJP I remember seeing that, and it's pretty good, but I don't think it's an actual omnimover like the real one.

I agree with everything! Awesome that Frontier was honest and held off on the release. Also glad to see they rides have a very plain theme. If they want to provide themes keep them as skins! Though I would like to see options to change things like the planes or the animals/vehicles on the carousel.
13:00 think the first one was in the Efteling in the Netherlands.
My only critique of the SLV is there’s no option to have the train launch right out of the station. Hopefully they fix that in the future.
help i cant find the chairlift, where do I find it? I looked in transportation rides nothing
You should have a pinewood hill lodge/restaurant that you can only access through the cable cars 🚠
Hulk coaster can be made with the mack now!
“You get off these so sick and it hurts your head” Great For Pinewood Hills
Ive rode the soaring eagle ride at Six Flags America in Maryland before
The tracker is what's used in Jorvik
Chair lift makes this well worth it! Nice Video!
Where do I find the skylift. I can't find it and just downloaded it in December 2020
Sybolica in the efteling has a trackles ride system
