Yeah--appreciate your honesty here. This pack feels like a "well, we've been working on this stuff for a while, the toolkit is coming out, let's just make a 'world's fair' and call it a day." There *are* some nice things here but overall, kind of underwhelmed. Thanks for showing it off and giving your feedback. I think you're spot on.
This DLC was a huge disappointment, especially since I was more excited about this pack than most others. Upon hearing about it, I was immediately thinking about how to make a EPCOT-like park, but these theme pieces are totally insufficient to do that. Some of the countries are remarkably superficial. And they don't even have roof options for most of them?!? The China theming is the amount they should have devoted to each country. Instead, it feels like they put all of their attention on that one and rushed a lot of the others to get the DLC out on time. A real missed opportunity here.
The Chinese set looks a lot like Phantasialand's China area. I bet a lot of fans are excited about that. It is a little weird that there is only benches and tables for that one theme though. I love the new brands! Personally, I really like the game's fictional brands and it's great that they added more that fit right in. BUT I totally agree that ten is too much. Four or five with bigger buildings sets would have been a lot better.
JELL-AH-TER-EE-AH! :) and yes it is Add-do-Bee. I think that people-mover thing would be GREAT as a parking lot to front gate tram or a park-to-hotel/waterpark/resort tram.
I would take some instant noodles or a frozen burrito out of a machine. Heck, there are vending machine sausages, like slim jims. That sushi one though is going inside my haunted house... near the end of course, don't want to scare people too quick too soon.
If I was a decent builder, I'd probably like this. I can't believe there aren't any roofs! Some of the wall sets are really pretty & I agree the brands are quite lovely
These parts are so awesome, I know people will find creative uses for objects as always! It'll also be super beneficial to the BroLandia project, since the park is themed to areas across the world!
Meanwhile at Paradox, every Patch and DLC brings major progress in game mechanics, gameplay and usability. I LOVE this game, I like what Frontier is doing. But... it really needs some core development that fixes some of the holes in the simulation aspect of the game.
That's why they are bringing out the thememaker, so the community can make scenery, while Frontier could focus on more rides and gameplay features, or atleast, that's my way of thinking.
I'd kill for any major improvements to how the base game works. Something of personal interest is changing the way triggers and the display sequencer work. Making a show or ride sequence that requires timing is plausible but it takes forever and uses the most clunky system in the game next to the pathing tool. I'd also love for new things to be added like having actual park hours and making a park that runs off of admission possible among other things would make even think about going into career mode. These DLC's are mostly ok, with some, like this, being somewhat mediocre, but I'd be way more interested in them tackling base game problems.
The people mover can be used to transport people to higher elevations like a escalator. Lots of possibilities for it since you can use multiple stations.
Thank you so much Jonti! I think with the TONS of building sets already in the game a few of these sets can really come alive. But I do agree they should have concentrated on five or six. But that people mover made my day! My Tomorrowland will be glad to see that coming!
Its kinda sad, that again the german aspect is just inspired by Bavaria... Bavaria is just a small country inside Germany - why dont get something else for Germany? Why dont developers try to use other stiles inspired from other cities? The nordic achitecture from Hamburg, Bremen or Lübeck for example... :/
I don't really like the argument - well...the TMT is coming out soon so..... I mean this is still a DLC and people are still paying extra for it. It seems grossly underdeveloped - some really useful things...but a feeling I haven't had with the DLC thus far. This feels cash-grabby...clear out the cache of old models, call it an exposition and that's that.
I like the pack, but I don't think I'll buy it. I see why people would be hyped about it, but it's not really adding something I've been missing so far. But I have to say, the German stuff is awesome. It's the typical stereotype, but the little owl is so cute *-* One other thing, Jonti: Maybe next time you could add an archer in, next to the pieces. Especially if you say that they're huge or really well sized, just for us to get a better idea of the scale.
Really mixed feelings about this one. I absolutely love the brands and shops, really strong and needed. I also love the idea of the new building sets .. and here comes the but: the selection of some of the sets is really really weak. I would rather pay more and have ten great and fully equipped sets than this. Imagine all the possibilities with ten full sets. But not even having angled walls, roof pieces with most of the sets is a huge let down for me. I don’t care about the coasters and I like the people mover. So ... am I going to get this? Probably one day. For the brands and the poor selection of great building pieces. But it will have a little bitter taste and that is new for me with planco or any of its DLCs. P.S.: Who thought that a giant helmet and that other random stuff would be a great idea while including only three pieces in the Spanish set? Sometimes I don’t get their decisions.
@@jaysonv2 well they could just get rid of a few of the thousands of signs in this pack and instead give us the peices that are needed to finish each theme
Thanks Jonti! Your DLS preview/review vids are terrific. I was really hoping for a simple, plain round stucco arch with the new adobe/Moroccan/Spanish sets. It's hard to recreate southwestern US facades without one. Guess I'll have to wait for the creator's update.
I'm glad the Chinese/Japanese theme exists now. As far as the other sets go, I feel like it's mostly filling in some holes, and these sets are really meant to be combined with each other for some of the promised themes.
I don't think it was a bad move to pretty much rely on existing in-game assets to supplement the new parts - the problem in that situation becomes more of Planet Coaster's organization system being rather unwieldly though I think they're sort of addressing it in the next free update? Either way, the coasters are also a major disappointment. We STILL do not have a proper generic Arrow Corkscrew train that isn't the 'All American Arrow' - seriously, it's a simple reskin, why did they spend more time on a bike coaster and whip up two whole train sets for THAT when they could have just stripped off the lettering on the Arrow coaster cars and produced an infinitely more versatile offering? Peoplemover was a surprise, though - I was expecting something like those airport maglevs in China.
I think we've been spoiled by how good some of the previous updates and DLCs have been. They're pretty hard to follow up. I'm happy to blow a tenner on it.
Honestly, there are some cool things here, but this pack just seems rushed and lazy. A lot of potential left on the table. Also, with the toolkit coming out maybe we can finally have some properly scaled objects and signs, a lot of the in-game ones are absurdly proportioned.
I absolutely love everything about this game...except that it's not compatible for a MAC! I need money to get a PC, a good PC, to play this game. Love the updates! The peoplemover is awesome! But I'm still waiting for a skybuckets and riverboat ride!!! Still, the design for the elements of this game is always superb.
There's a guy "Strictly Dumpling," on YT that goes into the 7 eleven stores in Japan and has the most fantastic meals. You should really check his channel out. It will make you so hungry, I'm not kidding.
The walls and brands are strong but i fell like this DLC is only half finishing in comparison to the other DLC. that being said ill be buying just for the wall pieces specifically the Japanese walls thy are perfect Nagaya building blocks :D Love you Jonti clearly never been to japan vending machines are a one stop shop and the sushi from vending machines and family marts are better than half the restaurants in Australia
100% agree about maybe fewer countries, and just have two different kinds of stores for each country so we'd still get 10...maybe one food, one souvenir. Still, very happy to see new scenery pieces in a larger pack. I hate the tiny little packs.
Looks like they have gone all out for the themes that had the least service in the game thus far. Chinese, American vintage, etc. All the other ones that are European themed appear to be made for use with existing parts because the game does have plenty of those. I don't know why I still watch though, because I've only bought one of the packs, and have only got 38 hours in the game which I've owned for over a year. i personally would have loved to have seen each country released separately with this much content in each.
I agree - but there's also so much potential with some of these items. It's a shame it wasn't quite pushed as far as it could have been.
I wish they had added at least one new mascot to wander the parks. Prof. Wurst would be a cute one.
👏👐👐 I've been dieing for more mascots!!!

how about we just get the option to resize pieces
Hellfire245 Yes!!
When the toolkit is released, someone's gonna make a mod that does nothing but make all the pieces smaller. I'm sure of it

Still no sub sandwiches, or stall/brand. ::
I think Frontier is done with this game. I love this game, but I do hope they make a sequel.
Really liking the new wall and window pieces but just don't get it why they didn't add some new (matching) roof pieces besides the Japanes ones.
I honestly just want an update where we can resize scenery items and freely place on-grid building items.
