I can never get enough of watching this game. I remember watching it live my sophomore year. 3rd deck, 3rd row, 50 yard line. Each time A&M scored it snowed cotton.
I remember being at this game and watching from the middle of the first deck. I still remember watching the cotton fluff floating across the field, shining and glistening in the night lights!
@@kurttheturt7679 It is TU in Aggie Tradition and it will always be. Texas A&M was organized in 1876. TU was organized in 1883. TAMU was the first university of Texas. Now do you understand why Aggies say TU?!
@@EsotericTucker Take it up with the Texas Constitution: "The legislature shall as soon as practicable establish, organize and provide for the maintenance, support and direction of a University of the first class, to be located by a vote of the people of this State, and styled, 'The University of Texas,' for the promotion of literature, and the arts and sciences, including an Agricultural, and Mechanical department." Establishing a university of the first class evidently took a little more time.
@@EsotericTucker I bet you didn’t even know that Texas A&M used to be a part of UT but something about Texas constitution allowed a&m to for their own university. A&M is still to this day considered a branch of UT lmao.
Shades of Jackie Sherrill's 1985 Aggies and the 12th Man...the noise level will be worse than when t.u.'s QB Stafford wouldn't snap the ball until the crowd quieted. He wound up being sacked. Kyle Field still had the south end zone open and only one level on the north end. Give a listen to the crowd during this game.
Every Bowl selection season should have this conversation between the Big 12 and SEC officials. "Is there any possible way we can put the Longhorns and the Aggies together in a Bowl game this year?" Can't believe nine possibilities of this happening have gone by unrealized.
Texas refused a bowl invite a few years ago if the bowl invited A&M. I don't remember which bowl it was. But Texas has a history of refusing to play A&M. They did it back 1911 refusing to play unless A&M fired Moran Sorry, i just saw this post was a year old
@esquiredan2702 sorry liberal loser he is going to win just like Texas A&M over the sorry butthole dookie orange loser longhorns. Were the woman are more men than the men in Austin! Sux to be a longhorn.
Well A&M beat up on tu in the 90s too. Almost like after A&M stopped being an All male military school after Vietnam, they started beating Texas quite a bit
@@johnnyfoosball12 not so much in the 90's as the 80's. I respect AtM as a university but they are a little fanatical when it comes to beating Texas at anything.

My freshman year - I was at this game. So many great memories…glad to have found this!
I watched this game up in Alameda, California because I was in the Marine Corps at the time. Still by far one of the best games I ever watched.
To think that A&M from 84 to 94 that the Aggies would only lose once to Texas only in 1990.

Class of '88 had a great run against tu!!
The stadium was relatively small back then...was it still pretty loud?
I was up Hwy 6, a sophomore at Baylor.
I was a few rows above you. Incredible win for the Ags.
I was at this game. Great night

Same thing happened in the 91 game - I loved watching the cotton float past us on 2nd deck.
Thank you Mr. Flowers for the upload. Gig’Em Aggies !!!
Correct...tu is texas 'university' in Austin. UT is the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, TN.

Texas couldn't handle the crowd noise. What a bunch of babies.
AtM sucks big ,huge, cow balls. Loud Fart.

How else do you think the universities can afford to pay head coaches $7 million per year.
