Cannot thank you enough for putting this on UA-cam. Also great to see Paul Maguire who was in the tv booth for so many of our 1984 thru 1998 run of great teams and wins over our lil brothers.
Being from Beaumont I went to high school with Jeff Nelson. He was a Sr. when I was a freshman. Then a few years ago I got to work with him while he was coaching here at both Beaumont Central and Beaumont Ozen. I also had interactions with Craig Stump who coached at Beaumont West Brook.
Awesome reliving these memories for those of us who didnt get a chance to see this part of the historic turning point in the rivalry. Also as we have taken an unfortunate time out from this rivalry game due to conference switching I look forward to the renewal of this rivalry game when the Longhorns merge with the Southeastern Conference SEC, and we reignite this great tradition between College Station and Austin. Gig'em Aggies !
When I was a student at TAMU, I saw this game at a bar called the "Sunset Grill" at Northgate w my roommates. After the win University Drive was filled with Aggies celebrating the unexpected win. Great memories.
The turning point game. In the 10 prior years, the Aggies won 4. From 1940 to 1983, the Aggies won 7. From 1984 through 1994, A&M went 10-1 over Texas. Gig'em!
