I love this. As I watch it, many memories come back. My friend, 20yrs my senior, passed away aged 72yrs on a trail ride. Was still riding fast, still riding every weekend if possible. RIP Ron Rodger, you are sorely missed.

These sixty years olds are basically pussies. I am 74 - sure I wouldnt go riding off road, I have no death wish, you can bet that sooner or later one of those old timers will end up on a weel chair and having to feed themselves through a straw. I always use the bike every day.

Frank Yuhas: Thanks for sharing that! I’m “only” 67, been riding (long and hard) for only 50 years. To meet people riding in their 80’s makes me want to keep living and (almost) makes me want to grow up!

I'm a 60 year old who's been riding 51 years. I have a scrambles track behind my house set up in three cloverleaf sections that have multiple options so you can stay out there several minutes and never do the same exact lap twice. My house backs up to a river that has miles of trails, in both directions. No need to load up and go anywhere. Fun ? Hell yeah !

In 1991 a friend and I were out at El Mirage dry lake, riding our KTMs for the day. We were back at the truck, taking a break and two riders on XR250s stop by for a chat. One was 72 and the other was 77. I'll never forget our encounter and after they left I thought, I'll never stop riding dirt bikes until I am physically unable.
Paul and Larry are just as inspiring. Great film!!

I crushed a vertebrae back then and thought i would never chance it again in the dirt. Now at the age of 47 i guess I'm young enough to give her another go? I'm having lots of fun and just wanted to say thanks for the wonderful story!!!!!

These two are inspiration. Glad someone video-taped them. Whoever it was, they have real vision for what this sport is about. They're getting the multi-generational aspect. They're getting that this about what's said between the rides. They're getting everything the Sueprcross guys just don't seem to ever get. Good job to Paul and Larry. And good job to guy who knew this was a story worth telling.

What a pair of great men, I am 73 and enjoy both off road on my DR 500 SUKUKI and long distance touring on a BMW K100RS. I also have vertigo and find it hard sometimes to walk in a straight line but I have never found it a problem when riding, I believe it is because my mind is focused on what is going on in front of me and I do not let it become a distraction. I also surprise a lot of younger riders when I pull up amongst them and take off my helmet and they see how old I am. More power to Paul and Larry.

Just awesome. This is a really great story, and beautifully told. I hope both Paul and Larry have many more years of riding ahead of them. My grandfather (who gave me the gift of a love of motorcycling when I was 6 years old) rode all forms of on and off road motorcycles from the 1940s until just a few years ago. He actively rode until he was 92 years old. He was and is my inspiration, and these two guys remind me a lot of him. I hope to follow their example.

you know i may be the youngest one here at 49 but i really really enjoyed watching this video, i lost two people that where close to me on motorcycles and now i look at it in a completely different way. I will be getting a new bike next year and then to a supermoto, these men really sealed the deal for me on what i am going to do. Had plenty of bikes growing up but then the fear of really getting hurt entered my mind. At 49, worrying about the " what ifs" has really stopped me in my life and now im jumping in whole! This video really hit my soft stop at the end when I saw that Paul is getting a new bike! Thank you gentlemen, Larry and Paul, for sharing a small part of your story. You two, are truly super men in my book!

This is a great video if you ride dirt only. it sure brought back a lot of memories for me when i was a young boy growing up in rural Maine. my first actual dirt bike was a OSSA 250 that I bought from a neighbor and he had modified it to a 350. the bike had big beefy knobby tires and quite often out on the trail would get right up and dance across most mud holes that other bike dies in. tearing down old county roads and old railroad bed was a blast. of course the local loggers didn't thing to much of us ripping up there logging roads nor did the snowmobiler's in the winter when they would catch us out on there trails. but they were always right there to cheer us on if we raced on the ice. I ride street bikes now and live in North Carolina. but I never forget were I got my start with bikes and were my roots started when I first started riding.

Oh guys, God bless you always! You two are truly an inspiration. Two Timeriders that don't quit, no matter of how old or situations, amazing! When this is in your blood since those good old days, no one can't take away your passion. Just train and practice, be in good health, but keep riding. And I thought I was old at 59 to get back in the saddle. Use to ride for fun in the 80's and I want to ride and show my kids that anything can be done when you have the will. Thank you dirt road warriors, you have become my inspiration.

I started on a beat AJS and then a pre-unit Triumph. In 1965, I discovered a '47 Indian Chief covered with an old canvas tarp and rotting away under a crab-apple tree. My dad (who was English) helped me restore that Indian. He died shortly thereafter. I took my first long-distance ride (on the old Indian) in memory of my father. I'm in my late sixties and I haven't ridden in years. These days, there are far too many "distracted" drivers on America's roads. In truth, I don't miss riding anymore. It happens. Ride safe.

When I was a kid in the mid-70s, I rode motorcycles with my dad in an offroad club in Columbus, Georgia called the Broken Spokes. One of the members was Colonel Gwynne, a man who had to be close to 80 years old. He rode an early-70s DT175 Yamaha that was set-up for offroad use only and he could easily keep up during the big group rides we had. Some of these rides could be brutal in the Georgia summers, too. In my mind I can still see Colonel Gwynne up on the pegs and scooting up slippery, red clay powerline hills pretty good. It's hard for me to believe I rode offroad with a man who fought in WW1, the first one, not the second one. I never forgot him or his very charming wife... Mrs. Gwynne. I never knew either of their first names.
