I swear I always watch this when I am down and it always seems to pick me up everytime.
i figure if you love motorcycles it shouldnt matter whos sitting on it. its just dudes diggin the vibe and riding. no need to hate although its easy to do.
yeah dude. it's good.
90% off the people here hating on them won't even experience any thing close to this in their whole lifes. hating is too easy.
hate is easy, period.
daum, that is the life man.
chillin with buddies ridin wherever the roads take you.
So scary riding through Mexico with a whole film crew, guide, support vehicles, and any amenities one could think of. Loins, tigers and bears, oh my!
They not wearing helmets this is scary not mexico.
still had to do the miles themselves... 2k miles.. most of them on sporty's no less
I didnt have a front tooth for about 3 weeks. That was an epic time in my life
Once again Vice hits a home run !!!!!!! A couple years ago I was lucky enough to do a similar trip through the Baja and it was a life changing experience for me, watching this takes me back to that time. Thanks for this vid !!
I agree mate!!! This guys riding in a big group and freaking out during this baja ride??? don't get me wrong, its a great adventure and I loved it when I did it. But mates, baja is no different from the US, in fact its a "free zone" meaning you can drive down from California with minimal requirements. 4 years ago I rode my v Strom 650 from los Angeles to la paz, 2up and it was awesome. Then took a ferry to mainland mexico (mazatlan), we rode about 3 weeks through Mexico, then a month to cross central America. In Panama we took a ferry to colombia and 6 months later, I had to sold the bike and we flew back to Los Angeles. how I did it? fuck!! hell of a ride. we worked, volunteered, he faced dangers and went through a lot of pain. I was 26 years old and an inexperienced rider while my now wife is asian American, but im fluent in spanish. Yeah it was stupid, but I would do it again if I could. That changed my our life but one thing I can assure you, I never freak the fuck out. You fucking cant!!! ride safe mates, love from California.
That's not accurate. You have to have a passport to get back. There is a very very very small area that is "free". But your comment isn't accurate.
You got me wrong mate, mexican authorities call it a "free zone", which means that you dont need to pay the required fee and permit for the rest of mexico. In baja you dont need anything. But youre right, crossing the borders is another thing. Cheers from Argentina
I'm sorry then. Thanks for the clarification!
Sounds like fun.
One of my favorite documentaries. Hopefully I can go on amazing trips with amazing people on bikes one day
I'll give you gnarly, travelling through Wales in winter at night.
Right, who fancies a pint?
I'm literally drinking a bottle of Guinness "Extra Stout" right now. The bottle is 22oz and since it was bought in the US, that's probably US ounces instead of imperial ounces like is used in the UK. Seems like an odd size for a container though. Even in metric, it doesn't come out to a nice even number -- approximately 0.625 liters, so I guess 5/8 of a liter... I've driven through the UK in the "summer" (which is about like the "winter" we have here). It would have been nice to have had my Harley over there instead, but the shipping cost is prohibitive unless you plan on spending a few months.
A ride through wales would probably last 2 hrs, before you know it you are out of the country.
Color me incredibly inspired... and sad that I can't find like-minded modern Harley riders here in Nashville that are under the age of 40.
J. Prentice Parton I'm in mid tenn. but more respectfully to the places I go. but love to ride. explore and shoot photos as well as bullets. life_of_kaos insta.
brokenupbeat I like you.
From Ohio but I feel the same my friend.. skate and ride on!
J I feel exactly the same. No young harley riders around me either. I live gulf coast Alabama
I'm 8 years too late to this comment but I live in the Nashville area and ride long distance if you're down
I miss Baja! This docu is bringing back many happy memories, thanks vice!
fabulously well produced! great panoramic views. well cut dialogue. I'm on this trip to the end!!
loved watching this when it was first released. def will watch again.
still my favorite motorcycle series go back to and want to do in with all my fears of bridges. I only ride side road and ferries.
I'm with you Rocky Mountain. these guys are Awsome.
not really a group I would hang out with, but at least they got together and did a great ride, and made a good video. I've never ridden that far, and never crossed the border- so I can imagine all of those things are a little unsettling the first time you do them. They could have / should have planned a little more, but overall it was entertaining to watch.
So far so good. I'm watching all 8 segments.
When they talk about going into mexico like it's the last frontier I think about the mexicans crossing the border to usa, on foot, through deserts and shit, ending up in a country where you not welcome and where you must work your ass of to survive. That is a story truly worth telling.
Dude, seriously? Everybody has to work there ass off to survive; and maybe they'd be welcome if they took the proper channels to become an American citizen and contribute to society rather than thinking they don't have to abide by the laws in the "land of opportunity" and can come over here illegally and take the jobs of citizens. The reason they're on foot walking through the deserts is because they cannot use the roads like people obeying the law. Get off your liberal high horse and ditch the little guy syndrome. I feel more for the people who came here legally and struggle as much as the illegals and have shit to show for it; the only difference is they did their due diligence and are in the same boat as the free riders.
2000nissansilvia I don't think they come for the soul purpose that they want to sneak by without having to pay taxes.. it cost to much, many will be declined and the may sneak by on taxes but that means they have to work mainly odd jobs. They still get taxed on food and goods. .
2000nissansilvia The legal way is broken. It takes decades and thousands of dollars. The people that are most desperate to come are the people that can't afford to do it legally. The system is what causes the problem and unless it is reformed, this problem will not go away.
Mark Reynolds Haha. I hope you are just trolling, because you sure sound like a racist moron.
Half of what you are saying doesn't even make sense.
I love riding in mexico, this video is epic, thanks for sharing
Les Haserot "Baja King" was doin this run every year in the 40's when the "roads" were little more than old cart paths. He used to soak his bike down so all the bolts would rust so the old Harley wouldnt fly apart on the heavily rutted paths.
I spent a winter down in Baja, traveling and camping in a campervan. What a great place. So wonderful. I'm quite sure I'll go back on a motorcycle some time in the future. Perhaps many times. On a motorcycle, I'd have a lot more concern than normal about being hit by a car (people drive furiously fast there, even the semi-truck drivers), and, all the potholes. Most roads are fine, but some stretches are really, really bad. I'd probably go about 30mph on those parts on a bike like these. Problem is, the cars still do 80. But still.. awesome place to go spend a week or a winter. I think it's better to go for more than a short trip because IMO the good parts are just starting when you get into the lower half of Baja, and it's quite a ways to get there, and to get all the way to the bottom.
WOW!!! Great video. And I have seven more to watch. YESSSS
I ride a bike and i live 5 mins from the TJ border and even i haven't done this ride yet. dam I guess i got some planning to do.
Ya'll need to watch 21 days under the sky.
Thanks dude gonna give it a watcj
🌵🌵
I enjoyed the hell out of this little flick but the Cannucks obviously don't know phuck-all about the desert. It actually pissed-me-off when Harvey Foster, took his machete to the stalk of that Century Plant that was almost to bloom. Crap like that will give us Gringos a piss-poor reputation and you'll phuck it up for everybody.
Have some phucking respect‼
I'm oilfield trash and even I know better than that.
I'm watching this series through again for the third time in two days.
for the intro alone this documentary is legendary.
Blaugrana 95 what song is it?
They are riding Harleys. Chase truck is a must
I bought my bike because of this vid 7 years ago :)
Great videos, thanks for sharing!
Arto's bike is so sick!
I don't ride but I would really like to do a Baja trip in my beater of a Bronco and take a lot of back roads which all the travel guides say not to do but I never was much good at following rules.
Authentic. I love it
I'm going to tell you guys a secret. This may come as a shock to some of you but actually.... Actually you can read/watch something you disagree with or something you don't like and completely move on with your life without making a bad comment? Isn't it awesome?!
+Mr23325 Haaaaa...couldn't agree with you more...not a big skateboard fan...but the whole point of the film isn't to please me specifically...I was just thankful to find a watchable riding flick...can't help but love getting away on a long ride...even if they do have a full crew, that's pretty much necessary to make a documentary/film...a lot of negativity here.
Hmmm, I thought it said “comments” not “positive comments only”.
Who knew?
"AS LONG AS I'LL BE COMFORTABLE"What a donkey.
This ROCKS!
i am SO doing this... Not to Baja.. but from Florida to CALI
....maybe i'll bring my dog.. LOL
i laughed the ashes out of the ashtray dood!
Two words: Dual Sport!
Dual sports make to much sense and aren't hip enuff
geraldsamurai
hahahaha I guess :) This trip would be real nice to do on a little 250 dual sport like the WR250
I want more!!!
It's the only way to travel…Respect.
I agree with you! I'm not from there but my daughters father is. He seems to say the same thing also!
I really like the attitude of these guys, to me, they're cool as chips.
I havnet even finish watching this video, and i already feel like its amazing. Enjoy life man, do shit like this, dont discriminate anything in life, live free die young. One life one chance..
Enjoy Mexico... it's plenty of nice places to discover and you can always rely on local Motorcycle Clubs for help or advice on riding inside our country... Motorcycle Life is Full Global Experience
Hint: Mexico Law's require you to use the Helmet mostly in the Big Cities
Instagram @SoulandFuel
Coffee house nomads. Oh man, they are working so hard at getting that rat-rod Harley Born-to-be-wild look going, I thought it was an Onion satire piece.
A lot of skaters look that way. Just people being themselves, not everyone is a SoA fan!!
go ride a goldwing
cool judgments tho
What do you mean by "coffee house nomad"?
If it means going to coffee shops all over the country/continent then why would that be insulting lol? Do coffee shops make someone less cock-diesel?
I mean, if a dude can ride across the country without any help or backup, but then stops in coffee shops, is he a pussy lol?
Josh Bowling Most Coffee House Nomads do not ride across country they ride from their house to the coffee house..... I get your point if you are riding across country you are not a CHN!
rad bikes
Being in Paradise and can't open your beer..... lol
These guys are just doing their thing. Why so much hate. Who gives a shit if their not real bikers
Thanks man!
Looks like good times if ya ask me ...
thanks vice!
I love this video. It inspired me to buy mu first bike. 4 bikes later and a serious near fatal accident (got tboned) I regret nothing.
Damn I want to ride a bike, but I’m worried about getting in an accident.
@@ishmael802 You'll probably get into some type of accident on a motorcycle whether you want to or not. I am still recovering after my surgery and plate insertion but am already looking to buy another bike. It is completely worth it once you try it. Take your local MSF course and if you like it send it.
I love you Vice!
So epic.
the best way of life !!!
y agree with you !!!
Love this video.

Awesome!!!
porfin esta completo en youtube
Hell Im in Mexico, loving it!!!
I'm thinking that the guy with the ape-hangers quickly realized that it wasn't the best design for motorcycle handlebars on a dirt road or soft terrain.
a for effort on your travels. Most entertaining. Glad to see a lot of v twins. It wouldn't have had the same punch on a bunch of rice. Rubber side up man
Is this what I’ve been missing? I’ve been seeing a ton of advertisements on Facebook
FULL SERIES FINALLY FUCK YES!
They're not bikers, they're bunch of crazy bikers. I knew it when one of em asking about wearing a helmet!
I guess Baja is the safest and one of the most beautifully states in Mexico.
Ignoring the slight sarcasm, you are both correct and incorrect. Naturally, the reason why most big youtubers continue to make videos is for the income. But you know we are on a media site which provides free content to it's viewers. 'We' do not pay Vice, the process works like this: Company's > Ad's > Money to UA-cam > Videos > Viewers > Money to producers of videos.
Look at that process, at what point are they obligated to cater to us? Welcome to UA-cam
“2000 miles through the desert”🤣🤣🤣🤣 you mean the pacific coast line
Good Stuff!!!
This is completely different.. Vice has a wide range of productions, and I agree the hallucinogenic tree frog wasn't the greatest episode of Hamiltons Pharmacopeia, but there are some really entertaining ones. If you had ever been on the Vice website you would not that was an older episode that only just got uploaded to UA-cam
This is making me so jealous.
What kind of Harley's are they riding?
need to work on their lines in corners
What model bikes are in this video...which is which ?
ready to go back.. Bill the guide, and Matt the chase truck driver are friends of mine.. heading out around Oct 18th/ 22nd for a few weeks. Who's in?
How do we find the soundtrack to this entire thing???
so after opening your beer, you just gotta throw the lid in ocean? i hope you didn't.
i agree, why 8 parts divided into such short segments.
is that 8mm in the beginning real or is it an effect. Cuz that would be pretty cool if it was
Anyone know what kind of Harleys they using?
There is no need to be so negative, It was still an interesting perspective none the less. If you don't have anything nice to say you probably shouldn't say anything at all.
where did you put you're bottle caps !!
agreed
I read the title as Embryo on an Epic Journey
What kind of motorbikes you riding here?
2,000 mile4s is a 2 day trip for me
@Virginia HOSS good call :)
Nice!
I'm down, when's the next trip?
what are these guys so scared about...
About riding through the most harmless part of mexico
I lived on that peninsula, there's cartel there, lots of army w/ machine guns, cops with cages in their trucks. Its no joke, and def not all harmless
destination unknown
man ,you don't know what goes on down there. shut up.
Getting secruztado by cartels. For one their white guys so that’s a business opportunity for cartels. A good ransom.
.... im not sure going to mexico counts as a super extreme and dangerous thing... maybe because I lived there for 18 years... but hey... I don't understand harley culture either... hope you enjoyed it!
