Just wish they would make that backseat space a little more roomier.. at least by4 to 6 inches
With that much extra length, you'd be longer than a Tundra Double Cab.
@@AkioWasRight good.. a tundras double cabs purpose is for longer bed space not backseat space.
@@therealmccoy2004 But the Tundra has more leg space, too. If you're interested in more bed and leg room, the Tundra is basically what you want. The Tacoma is an odd truck. It's big on the outside, but small on the inside. If it were to get any bigger, it basically becomes a Tundra.
@@AkioWasRight but I love tge way tge Tacoma looks over tge tundra.. just wish they took the Tacoma design and incorporated it with the tundra.. that would be a bad ass big truck..
Then you ruin the break over angle for offroading even more, which is what these trucks are built for. If you want more room by a full size truck and problem solved.
I'm looking at a 2021 tacoma sport short bed looking at 35k .. I was gonna buy a 2016 sport with 60k miles for around the same price might as well get a new one
Up here we unfortunately need 4x4 lol. I hate snow
I had a 2014 Barcelona red 6 speed manual before the 2017 and the truck was beautiful. I've owned them since 1987 my first. Hope it's in the cards to get another TRD sport.
I love the way the engine sounds when you start the car🤩
You guys should definitely check into all the problems.
One guy just commented down below that he could not get the dealer to fix his truck.
And it wasn’t just one problem
@@ericbuchta9765 what problems? There's no problem with these trucks especially that new
Look down 20 comments for my comment and there is a guy that commented on my comment.
He explains it, the problems.
I am not really 100% on some things but I do read up on these trucks a lot.
Just one complaint I can think of off top of my brain is lack of power.
No torque and under powered.
When you start your car? Do you mean truck?
@@ericbuchta9765 wrong bro, do some more research, the truck had plenty of power. An ob tune solves all issues on power and torque. And these arnt race cars. The pussies that hate on these trucks are looking for extreme horsepower are looking for the world truck on toyota. That's not what tacomas are about ..they are about extreme reliability and resale, and they look fuckin awesome. Simple tricks and awesome
Awesome video! I have a 2019 TRD Sport in Super White.
Great video!
Just picked up a 2021 TRD Sport/Premium Package/Technology Package in Cement Grey and I love it! Non functional hood scoop is quite functional actually as it makes me sooo happy 😃!
Just bought one as well .
Very nice truck , moving up from a 2003 chevy s10 classic .
@@chrismaronen -Yes I just got a 2021TRD sport moving up from a 2003 Ford F150 and this is an amazing piece of work I love it I just wish it had the Birdseye view on the one I got. I’m gonna check in to see if that’s some thing I could add on.
Traded in my 2018 Corolla for a ‘21 cement Tacoma DCLB trd . Got the technology package but unfortunately not the premium
Is it better than 4x4 Off road and TRD Pro?
@@peepsg I think its really up to you and your needs etc. IMO the TRD Pro is quite pricey and considering there are at least 30plus configurations, you can get a TRD off road with a nice package (premium/technology/sunroof/leather seats etc) for a lot less than a TRD Pro. I got the TRD Sport mostly because I live in a warmer area with no prolonged threats of ice/snow , however if I would do it again I would def get an off road.
Are all model and year Tacoma has the same rear seat space?
Lease turnin 2 weeks ago on my 2017. This one is just amazing
great video. The tacoma has radar sensor in front and back?
why does it have a mobil oil sticker up there if its 2021?
I Love this guys videos
How are these trucks on long highway drives? Considering a Tacoma or Silverado.
I have this same truck except mine isn't the premium with leather. Same color. Long bed. Absolutely love it.
Love the rims
Great video!! Looking into buying a TRD sport in a couple months and this was by far the most detailed review.
Anyone know what the price is on this bed cover? I've got a 2016 version of this truck in the longbed, but I've only been seeing the shortbed options for the covers.
The OEM hard tri-fold tonneau cover for the 6 foot box is about $1500 CAD. If you have and older truck I recommend looking into other brands that sell similar products for much cheaper
I got my 2021 Tacoma Sport and I love it so much I dont regret buying it!
how much do you pay monthly for it? did you give any down payment?
I just bought the 2023 Trd Sport 6spd manual. Love it.
Cunto bale la Tacoma TRD sport modelo resiente americana
Is that the 6ft bed?
Is this stock or upgraded
Great truck that is simple, reliable and holds its value.
They hold it's value?..lol...
Soon as a buyer sucker leaves the dealers lot for these way over priced plastic boxes it will lose depreciate 15K+$$$ automatically that's fact...
@@EarlGoremanyou just a hater because ask you call afford is a lawn mower
@@EarlGoreman all trucks are expensive.
@@EarlGoreman lol why are you attacking every comment with that negativity let people buy what they want go ahead and get into your Ford on the way to your mechanic.
The demand for a new Tacoma Double Cab is really high here in Hawaii. You can't buy it off the lot.
The first shipment coming in a couple of weeks have been all sold at MSRP, sight unseen. You could practically sell it for what you paid for it a year later.
Sup Ben its yours truly 🙃. Lovely Tacoma ❤.
Wish they'd offer the 6 speed manual w/crew cab/long bed......
Well that makes me happy to hear, I have a manual, 4 door and regret getting the short bed, but if they never made a long bed with the 6 speed manual 4 door to begin with then no regrets
Do tacomas not come with rear defroster?
Is there a eval on TRD Sport (Not 4X4) ?
Do you think a 2021 TRD sport with 25,000km on it is worth 52k Canadian money?
What advice would you give someone looking to buy one?
I want the 2021 Tacoma TRD Sport in Black just like that one long box & sunroof.
buy an orbital buffer if you're getting black. Color is beautiful but a pain to maintain
@@jamesmaloney9764 I have had 3 Black cars a 1990 VW Jetta GLI a 2004 VW Passat & my wifes 2016 Toyota Highlander . Red cars also look great but black if it is cleaned up right it will take the prize ever time in a car show.
I can’t believe the pricing on these things! Almost $46k!??? Ridiculous
Yeah & I bet each time when a sucker buys one of these over priced junk boxes then drives off the lot the salesmen & finance manager buckles over laughing hard holding their stomaches saying their goes another sucker dummy...
I am in Chicago and the 2021 TRD sports and offroad are at 36-37k here.
@@chaumander9378 yeah the base TRD Sport is $36k everywhere. This is not a base, this has $10k in options which ridiculous.
@@EarlGoreman Average new car in the US is around 38k.
You can buy a TRD PRO with a manual transmission cheaper than this sport. Also, all the add ons on this truck come standard on the PRO...
Nice truck but it does lack some features like rear ac vents USB ports very small gauge cluster screen and a very annoying startup chime
Is the bird eyes view included in the access cab version?
I understand it's been 5 months but no you can't get many of the premium options on access cabs not even leather or a jbl stereo
How about a regular cab Tacoma , 2 inches wider....1 inch for her and 1inch for me. 7 ft bed .
Option number 2 - Add 4 inches of rear leg room on the bigger cab.....lop off 4 inches from the 6 ft bed....keep the wheelbase the same.
4.0 v6 280 hp 290 trq - stock
4.6 v8 320 hp 340 trq - optional
8-speed auto
I just had the dealership factory order the same red taco for me but without a long bed and not as many options as that taco. I told them between 35k-38k just have to wait now to see exactly how much and build it.
Too much $
I want the TOYOTA TRD SPORT 4X4...
What package is this truck. Or how did you get the leather seats???
It's the premium sport package it's almost 4k upgrade comes with alot though.
Does it have apple car play?
I just bought a 2020 TRD sport premium and technology package and in black...is there even a difference with the 2021s...?
Dual zone climate control.
I have that. It comes in the premium package...
The sports come standard with that bed length in Canada.
Ya, I'm factory ordering a TRD Sport Premium and it's weird how certain things are available in one region but not another. In Canada I don't think you can get bird's eye view on any 6A package but you can on the 6A SB TRD Pro package
Just got this exact same truck in voodoo blue. Loving it so far.
Update? I just ordered this. With the 6ft and 2021. In cement. That voodoo blue is real nice though
@@davidt.7558 I got the same truck its a beauty
@@thinketernal260 cement?
@@davidt.7558 yessir, 6ft bed, 4x2
@@thinketernal260 ahh i see, im from MA i need the 4x4 but still waiting. They had to make it , since they couldnt find one.
I paid ~$33K for my 2017 Sport and I am very happy with it. Can't believe 2021 models are now $46-$48 K. Sucks but try getting a decent Ford or Chevy for that money. No where near as reliable either.
33k before tax?
USD$ or CAD$?
The used Tacoma prices have now also gone up like crazy, so if you can find a new 2021 it’s a good time to trade up like I did
$52 g in Alberta
I paid 29.5 before tax for 2015 sport new .
I know that road. Lol. Great video.
Reliability and quality 💯
Longevity on this?
But whats new since its intro in 2016????? Same 6 speed automatic same 3.5 V6 same body.
Gauge cluster, infotainment and led lights. I’m probably missing a few things but those are big ones
I just got a 2021 but regret not getting the LED daytime running lights...
You can buy some similar one's from Tacoma Beast or Running4Tacos. I think they're around $800.
Congrats on the new truck, nice meeting you👍🏻👍🏻
I think led running lights are standard? Mine 2021 trd off-road came with it. I just threw in some Auxbeam led bulbs for my low beams and it looks way better than halogen bulbs.
@@ns3v3n LED running lights come standard but you have to upgrade to get the full LED headlights
Love it.. I am trd sport fun...
Has anyone been in and leased one? I’m curious what a typical lease would look like on this as I don’t care to mod anything on it.
I just did. 36mos/12k miles a year.
$700.10 - $750.00 monthly payments. Let’s unite and stop buying so they can lower the prices it should be 35-38k most
@@alphaandomega2709 way too high a price for a lease. I'm only paying $400.
@@beefraz9510 a Tacoma Sport 4x2 is running 38K 42k with tags and license brand new. Do the math. You probably have the Sr model that goes for 25-27k
@@alphaandomega2709 I have a 2021 TRD Sport MT with 4x4, V6, leather, LED headlights, tonneau, bed mat...
Just picked up mi 2021 voodoo blue 😁
Dam these tacos are getting closer and closer in price to the tundra
They're raising the price, because fan boys will pay it and Toyota will increase the price of the new Tundra and open the pricing gap again.
@@weirdshibainu Tacoma life
@@weirdshibainu You can get rangers and colorado's equipped to be more expensive than a top trim level trd pro tacoma. The whole mid sized segment is expensive.
@@steve8803 True. That's why the mid-sized market all but disappeared a few years back...they were getting to full sized prices.
@@weirdshibainu Tacoma will likely be my next vehicle. Yes, they're expensive to purchase. But, the re-sale value is very high as well as very low maintenance costs. Making your actual total cost of ownership quite reasonable at the end of the day. Much cheaper than a full size truck that's equally spec'd all things considered.
It certainly is
Toyota its best feature is that is reliable and is for off-road it doesn't has the best interior but it has the necessary features Ben u go to the gym?
Yes, I do but I’ve had to take a small break due to my back recently
I dont know why I love tacomas
You missed the Cruise Control for the steering wheel stuff!~
I got same one in an OR. Love my shit
And what’s with the lever parking brake thing? At least put it in the footwell to free up space and why is the gear shifter a maze
Hand brakes help in certain off-roading situations and it's not something you can easily do using the foot pedal type
so glad I got the manual transmission in my 2020 tacoma sport.
Been saving and trying to get a newer tacoma. Was wondering how it drove in manual. You liking it? Does it feel like it has a little power or no? I keep hearing bad stuff about the automatics
Only thing I hate about the manual in Tacoma is they grind pretty bad after 100xxx miles
@@leftbumper4548 manual is awesome, buy one
@@terrynichol577 comment is a bit old now but I actually did buy an army green m/t. Got super lucky🤘 I love it!
@@leftbumper4548 haha nice, keeping the haters and manuals alive..some of these videos I see on here bashing the tacomas. Jelousy I'm guessing..
Sweet!!!
Chevy all time
It's not a bedliner, it's an all-composite bed. Hope these vehicle review channels ask the question or do the research and figure that out eventually.
I had to rewind a few times to make sure I heard right. 46K, you can get so much more for that price in a F150 or RAM 1500.
Who wants to that shit? Lol
True but I know from experience theyre not as reliable.
Pierre-Right you are! I just bought a beautiful 2021 Big Horn crew for 40K out the door.❤️
@@leedanielson7452 Congrats. Ram gives you so much more and theyre nice trucks. I wanted a Tacoma but bought A Ram Sport back in 2015 because I couldnt stomach the ridiculous price of the Taco.
Lancelot Link-I’m on my seventh new ram they were all great!
What was that leaking!?
Pee
Tacos look bigger than they look inside especially the back seat
It is not a bed liner. The bed is a composite material.
Why would anyone get a short bed truck? You can barely haul anything with it.
12" shorter and its a little more nimble off-road which is probably why the Sport is a long box (luxury packages) and the Pro etc is the beefed up short box off-road packages.
Cool
I had the Toyota 4x4 it rusted back into the earth no tanks once bitten twice Shi I have a 2001 Ford ranger 4.0 20 years still running ford tuff lots of power 3.5 dog
ben, it'd not a berliner the whole bed is composite made
🤡🤡🤡
Midsized trucks are ok but the prices they are approaching undermines one of it's purposes, to still do truck duty without having to buy a bigger one. Well now these newer midsized trucks are the same price or close to and are not as well built or have the various options and configurations as a full size which now offer 4, 6, 8 cylinder motors and diesel options. For my money, higher tow rating, payload, better ride and more room and capacity, I see no need to buy these poser trucks, get a full size, you can get shorter beds, even shorter cabs the difference of maneuverability is minor if not the same, albeit the full size will be slightly wider. But don't think your going to blaze through parking spots easier with a midsized truck.
Let me debunk your idiotic premise.. "poser truck" tell that to all the people that buy these to overland or offroad on trails, rock crawling in canyons where no full sizer can get to. You also said they aren't as well built lol? The Toyota trucks are legendary for being extremely well built (check out Top Gear's video) where they have survived the harshest beatings imaginable (drowning/being dropped/surviving a building demo). You might want to check the reliability on these trucks as well as alot of other different brand mid sizers that are basically better then full size trucks because of what they are intended for. Larger and smaller cars exist but a Porsche is not a "poser" car because it's smaller or only seats two people because it has an intended purpose. There's larger and smaller sport utility vehicles but the smaller ones aren't "posers" due to their size. Also the mpg are not going to be what they were in the compact truck era because these trucks are MIDSIZE and are roughly the same dimensions as full sized trucks just 7-8 years ago and weighing almost 5k pounds. Oh yea, the resale is by far better then any American truck (or car for that matter) on these trucks also because they are QUALITY BUILT. Resale has a direct correlation with reliability.
@@Boltdriver70 Thanks for your insight, but most who do what you say off road in need to upgrade, tires, suspension, etc I was referring to the average person who uses trucks to go mall shopping, hence "poser" the prices of midsized trucks are crazy high considering the options, so in that regard your better off with a full sized truck. Using Toyota as an example, the Tundra has a way beefed up frame then the Tacoma and can we forget the horrendous recall on Tacoma for rusted frames. Let me throw some off road tires suspension on a F150 or similar and I'm doing circles around your Tacoma or similar midsized truck, first I'll have more power a better and beefier suspension, more off road options and still be able to ride on the highway without feeling like I'm on a ship. Yes you may be lighter maybe have a better turning radius but when it comes down to it, I'll have way more options with a full sized truck then a midsized. Perhaps if you have the older mid sized trucks you'll fair better but still IMO these trucks can't compete with the full sized trucks hence the sales numbers and what's seen on most job sites and Yes off road expeditions. But I get your point and is better then most can come up with.
Dealers are NOT negotiating right now.
Here in Metro Vancouver you can't find one on the lot anywhere, you have to factory order them. I used an auto broker and managed to get about 2% off including his fee.
I want my TRD TACOMA to be a 4X4...
Wow too many Ads
So no Apple CarPlay
Comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. I just wish I could play my CDs on it

Btw, why 3 question marks???? Isn’t one enough????? Or were you trying to make a point that I missed??????????????????
TRD 4X4 SPORT PACKAGE
6 speed in a 2021 vehicle? 🤦🏼♂️
Exactly what I was thinking.
The transmission on this vehicle is so dated and the gearing is terrible. NEEDS to be fixed for 2022
Why the face palm? I love that a manual is offered. So much so, I just picked up my '21 TRD Sport last weekend...
@@beefraz9510 I think he is talking about the 6-speed automatic transmission Toyota still has in the Tacoma. It's so dated. Most trucks now have 8, 9 and 10 speed automatic transmissions. Ram introduced their 8 speed in 2012.
@@beefraz9510 he is talking about the 6 speed auto which the video above shows
On back side too small
i just got mine for 34k brand new. long bed
4x4?!
Nice truck but wrong time to buy a new vehicle, dealers only want to empty your pockets during a microchip shortage.
Naw they only have the highest resale value of any vehicle on the road. How could that be a great value?
Curious. My 21 TRD Sport came with the Toyo tires. This one has firestones.
Led package is well worth it!
Also- way to many adds man. Almost unwatchable.
Just came home with mine and have Toyo on mine too in Arizona
The “bed liner” is really the bed.. there isn’t anything under it aside from the frame.
the sport dosnt have the locking dif, thats why the Off Road and Pro cost more.... newb.
You don't need all that TRD garbage. SR5 is more than enough for 99% of consumers.
Once you hit the 40k bracket that’s SUV prices. XSE highlander looking better now.
Transmission sucks on that truck.
C8 Corvette please > :)
Soon hopefully
Great truck but it is overpriced. Way too close to a full sized truck price.

46K$$$ for that over priced over rated plastic box on wheels lol... obviously the greedy shark dealerships are pushing the prices of these plastic boxes up & up 3K$$$ more every year & with millions of people lost their jobs the economy in the dump can't tell me that people are out in droves buying these way over priced plastic boxes.. there must be thousands of em sitting in parking lot fields & dealers lots & the small amount of gullible suckers who are buying them the repo man will be showing up sooner then later taking them back nothing but total corperate greed by these con shark dealerships every year rubbing their palms together laughing all the way to the bank...
Why do you have too do all that to a Trd Sport 4x4 Tacoma to make it comparable to a Pro? It's NOT that great a VALUE, because by the time you get through with ALL the MODIFICATION, you've spent at least 4k, and did you VOID ANY WARRANTIES? Power Train? The seating position is OK, but the arm rest is to low if I have to do OVER, it might NOT BE, a Toyota Tacoma, DISAPPOINTING Truck, with a Camry Engine, how does going from 4.0 liters too 3.5 liters come across as an improvement? Power Seat, with NO Memory Function?NO MORE TOYOTA TACOMA
That's all factory. No mods.
