He warned us.
I definitely did
@@imback1770 IKE!!!!
I had to pause the video because seeing and hearing, again, an actual President express humility was too much for me to handle emotionally.
Shut up!

One of the greatest U.S. Presidents, ever
Eisenhower always been my favorite president and i was born in 1992 and never knew anything about him
Well one thing you need to know he was the 34th president of the United States and he was a General before he became president.
That is why it is always important to learn about and study history.
Just when I start to no longer believe in America, I remember Ike.
Best POTUS ever.
Ike would have won a third term vs Kennedy and possibly a fourth if he was allowed to run
He wouldn’t have ran
Too many health problems- he could barely campaign for Nixon
His Heart Nearly Failed Him In 1955. He Would Have Died After the Bay of Pigs Invasion and Berlin Crisis.
Bye you were missed
I saw you on Tok

President Dwight D. Eisenhower delivered his Farewell Address to the Nation on January 17, 1961, as he was preparing to leave office after serving two terms as the 34th President of the United States. In his farewell speech, Eisenhower discussed a number of important issues and warned the American people about potential dangers and challenges facing the country.
One of the most famous and enduring parts of his address is his warning about the "military-industrial complex." Eisenhower expressed concern about the growing influence of the defense industry and its potential to exert undue influence over government policy and spending. He cautioned that the United States should maintain a strong national defense but also be vigilant about the potential for an unchecked military-industrial complex to lead the nation into unnecessary conflicts and to consume an excessive share of the country's resources.
Eisenhower also stressed the importance of maintaining a balance between national security and preserving the principles of democracy and freedom. He warned against allowing the pursuit of military power to undermine the nation's values and domestic priorities.
Here is an excerpt from President Eisenhower's Farewell Address, where he famously discusses the military-industrial complex:
"In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists, and will persist. We must never let the weight of this combination endanger our liberties or democratic processes. We should take nothing for granted."
Eisenhower's warning about the military-industrial complex remains relevant and is often cited in discussions about the role of the military and defense contractors in American politics and policy. It serves as a reminder of the need for a careful balance between national security and the preservation of democratic principles.
Executive order the president is simple hope
Just for laughs: We need Dwight Eisenhower. Lol.
I used to tease my grandfather with Eisenhower because he hated him.

Greatest President Of All Time. Nevermind This Abraham Lincoln Crap. Sure, He Did Free The Slaves, And The War. But Eisenhower Is The GOAT Of Presidents
Lincoln was a tyrant who overly expanded federal power. Slavery would have ended on it's own in the south with the rise of industrialization. Not to mention, Britain wouldn't have continued to trade with them if they kept up the practice of slavery.
@@cultofthevoid5677 Notice how the South is still overly racist and noted as the most toxic place to he in America. I call bullshit

I’m looking for a specific speech he gave. I remember a few lines that go as follows, “Confessions of a sadist.”, “Soldier, President, American.”, and “Homosexuals. Lesbians. Abnormal sex.” Anyone know which one this is?

He also stuck his tongue 😛 out then as well.

What a stupid choice of clip from such a seminal speech.
