  • Budget overland gear; Overlanding on a budget isn't as hard as you might think. I found tons of gear oat REI. If you live somewhere where there aren't any overland or offroad shops nearby, maybe you can find the gear at your regular shops or online instead.
    Obviously I would say try to buy local when you can but if you can't there always other options.This is just one part of a series of videos where I go to local shops and try to find budget offroad and overlanding gear.

    Been running the Rightline for 2 years now and we love it. Wife didn’t like the idea of being on the ground in bear country and felt more comfortable with the truck tent. Seen rain and temps down to the 40s, it’s been great

    Goodwill and Garage sales are great places to pick up silverware, plates and knives. Just depends on how much your willing to bring with you. Plastic utensils and paper plates are easy but wasteful with just one use before tossing.
    Keep up the good work I really like this series!

    • @OXFOOT
      @OXFOOT  2 роки тому +1

      Yeah the plastic plates and utensils are something we did growing up camping but I for sure left that in the past. Plastic but reusable is the way to go for me now. Regular metal utensils are a really good way to do it as well.

    @Oxfoot, hello Jason, very much appreciated your overview on REI, I've been looking at REI but haven't bought anything from them yet, I know that they're into camping, but like you, I mostly get my stuff from Amazon, REI a little bit spendy, but higher quality, can't get enough of your channel, keep doing what your doing brah, stay safe and safe travels see you on the next one 👍 🤙👊✌

      Yeah it is probably one of the more expensive places I’ve been to on this series if not the most expensive. I really do like the garage sales they have but I have missed the last few of those.

    Don’t forget to always check the garage sale. I’ve gotten most of my stuff half off there. The one great thing about the pandemic at least as far as REI goes, is that they made the garage sale stuff a permanent part of the store now, whereas before they were only do a garage sale twice a year I think

    • @OXFOOT
      @OXFOOT  2 роки тому

      I used to hit up the garage sales all the time I didn’t know what happened to them. Glad to know they started it as a permanent fixture. I’ll have to hunt around for it at my local store. Might have been there but I was so zoned in on finding my list of stuff that I missed it though.

      @@OXFOOT I stopped years and years ago because they were then working actively against motorized recreation of all forms. Less publicly they were also against bikes, equestrian, and other forms of recreation. Timber and motorized rec were their top bad guys though.
