I am truly sorry for the ahead rant but if you are up for it id like your take on this. My dad was a Portuguese guy who got killed in a police chase you know. They pursued him against policy and ran his bike off the road killing him in the process. What should have been a vehicular manslaughter or murder charge was never even looked at. I support police reform but not so much "defunding the police". You know what I gotta be able to call somebody when some possible terrorism is happening on the block and I don't think anybody gonna drive out and help me for free. We need to get GOOD people in there who truly want to serve their community. People who want to give back. Not serve the system. And those guys need to be able to feed their families and pay their bills. We need those guys who help grandma across the street, help you jumpstart your car, that one cop we all knew who was a legit good dude and they need to know we value them. Public Servants. Not smol pp meatheads who wanna fill quotas serve "justice" and fucking shoot people to feed their Napoleon Complex from highschool. His name was Walter Botelho by the way, a father of 6 sons who grew up without their father. People loved him so much all his friends gave my family money to bury him with dignity. His life mattered. I disagree with some of the nuance in the movement. Particularly the racial connotation. Racism is very real and very vile and we need to call it out. BLM feels exclusive and makes me feel like Im not supposed to say anything and like im trying to steal thunder if I do. It doesnt feel like a platform open for me. Theres nowhere for me to talk about my experience with police brutality really. Back when BLM came up I said all lives matter, and people didn't ask me what I meant. They didn't care that I lost my dad to cops. They assumed I was doing an alt right meme and was trying to bash but like dude I cant put up a picture of my dead dad with the hashtag black lives matter. He wasnt a black guy! We should be looking for ways to unify our message and make it stronger in my subjective opinion. We aren't gonna stick it to the man if we divide ourselves up racially. Thats what "THEY" want. I respect you man. You aren't afraid to speak your mind about shit that needs to be talked about. You strike me as a well meaning and sincere guy. Love and Light to you Mr. Lucifer. And I hope something gives. I don't want to see people die needlessly anymore. And I look forward to any and all future content!
Whipped out my lands of ice and fire maps as a companion to this awesome discussion about origins of peoples in Essos. I wonder if we will get more symbolism in TWOW for the Dothraki.
I've been wondering about when/if the Dothraki arrive with Dany in Westeros in the books. If some of them settle in Westeros once the War for the Dawn is done, which I think is feasible, what cultural and genetic variations will we see in another 1,000, 2,000, 8,000 years between Essosi Dothraki and Westerosi Dothraki? Very interesting to consider.
Catching up on any episodes I missed the first time around. The hits just keep on comin! These tunes however not only have a nice beat and are good to dance to, but are deep, full of goodness and intellectual stimulation. A most worthy endeavor!
Damn, you a real one. Sadly, way too many people in these circles are tied to some mad reactionary and bigoted perspectives. It's a cancer. It's hard to even really rock with somebody and support em fully cause of it. Good to know it's not an issue here 🏴
I’ve been binging your old videos and I gotta say…your perspective and support of BLM, LGBT, etc, with how conservative/redpilled most fantasy content creators seem to be, is good to see and quite refreshing
Its something that plagues some longer videos atm. Funnily the adds here are only on the first 1h. Anyway this is great content even with adds. Just hope ytube gives tubers lots of moneys for all those adds
Just casually rewatching your videos because they're too wonderful, and this has me wondering about Old Ghis. Old Ghis was already an empire before Valyria existed it's said, so could its founder Gazdan the Great be one of those that fled the GEOD? Or could Old Ghis have been contemporary with GEOD? Do you have any theories for the origins of Old Ghis? Sorry if you've been asked this before or have discussed it somewhere and I missed it! And as always, thank you so much for all the amazing stuff you do!
The Lion of Night could also be George saying this particular god is a Black Leopard or Black Jaguar which are Melanistic variants of Leopards and Jaguars which both happen to be in the Panthera genus of cats. Which includes Lions, tigers, snow leopards, and clouded leopards. Also wanted to add onto this with the thought that since space in martins world exists, there might be other worlds in his universe. Maybe the first God emperor of the Great Empire of the Dawn came from another world with a large population from his homeworld. These people could have brought the dragons with them as well as other magical fauna that would’ve come from their homeworld and thus dispersed wherever the great empire had sway. Maybe these proto Empire pf the dawn folk were fleeing from some sort of cataclysmic event that rendered their homeworld uninhabitable like another long night, and the first God Emperor was the “Moses,” this pre empire of the dawn civilization. Which could explain the “descended from the sky,” or maybe he could have been sent to the planetos by his homeworld’s government to engineer a race that could control the native dragons and when he returned to the stars that’s just code for he left the planet and went to his home planet. It’s gotta be one of the two right?
When covering royal events and the opening of parliament etc the BBC pronounce Ermine ‘ur-min’. But that might just be the Brit way of saying it, I dunno.
Thank you for mentioning the black pool in the Winterfell godswood! Is it symbolizing the Cosmic Womb/Tomb as well? We all know that Starks looove dipping their bloody swords in those kinds of places... 😑 I do keep wondering about that black pool though. Are there others like it in other godswoods? Is it unique? How does it relate to the hot springs? Or to the network of caves/ Gorn's Way? And what's its relation to the Winterfell Weirwood, and the weir-net at large? Is the blood that Ned is cleaning enough, Weir-Net-wise, to feed it with a soul?
Thank you so much for sharing about how Rage against the Machine influenced your early life! Wonderful story and a great way to articulate nuance into your talk!
I’m listening to this after the fact, but it’s always great to hear myth-lovers take an anti-racist stand. It’s awful and goes against the universality of myths and archetypes when nationalists or racists co-opt gods or symbolism. It’s good to hear where ya stand.

The last hero's sword breaks against the others, then the Children of the Forest help him and he has a new sword. If Nissa Nissa was a Child of the Forest, then the Last Hero = Azor Ahai. Nissa Nissa helped him reforge his sword.
Good job lml. We really need twow, were diving in way to deep into lore and stuff. Fascinating, but we need new story content. Hopefully grrm has news in july. Thanks
Hats off to you for the BLM shoutout. Seriously. Been bingeing your videos for days now and as much as I’ve enjoyed your theories, I have to tell you that now I just think you’re awesome. Way to be a cool human.
Hey LmL, Scorpiax the Golden here, another amazing episode, enjoyed the whole stream! It suddenly dawned on me that Brienne’s house sigil includes moon and sun, day and night transition. Dawn, in other words. Maybe possible foreshadowing that Brienne will be knighted, just like in the show, but by the sword Dawn instead of Widow’s Wail? Which might mean Jaime gets possession of Dawn temporarily in the books? The very sword he was knighted himself with? Just a fast thought.
Yes! The Tarth symbolism basically says "sunrise and sunset." Morning and evening. The transitory stages... it's straight Venus stuff for Brienne "the Beauty." Her current sword is an evening sword, and that might be perfect for her... but her hero is morning associated, Galladon of Morne (I discussed that on the timeline heresies livestream!). She's big enough to wield Dawn... who knows! I'd love it if she killed Darkstar somehow. We'll see.
Lucifer means Lightbringer Excellent points! I completely forgot about Gallador of Morne and Oathkeeper the black sword symbolisms! It is very possible for Brienne to engage Darkstar in a duel with Oathkeeper and Dawn. That would be awesome. For some reason, I always loved the theory of Stoneheart passing her Kiss of Life to Jaime, and him becoming the new leader of Brotherhood without Banners and getting them back on path of justice. Goldenhand the Just. I firmly believe that most of Beric’s arc in seasons 7 and 8 should have belonged to Jaime - leading the BwB north alongside Sandor, his Clegane to Cersei’s Gregor; him teaming up with Jon to venture north of the Wall and discuss their shared experiences of resurrection and purpose and then staying to defend the Wall, or in other words, trading his white cloak to black like Ned wished; protecting Arya alongside Sandor and Brienne against the wights at Winterfell, etc.). He always wanted to be Arthur Dayne, but along the road became the Smiling Knight. Jaime IS a smiling arrogant knight. Maybe foreshadows a possible clash with Dawn wielding Darkstar who will be on a mission as fAegon’s Kingsguard to hunt down former white cloak and now outlaw Jaime and his band? Darkstar is a cruel human being who maimed Myrcella and probably does lots of nasty stuff and war crimes to people and possibly smallfolk in the Winds, so it will be Goldenhand the Just’s duty to put him down. No? Maybe? Ugh, a man can dream lol
4:21 I just had a thought (I know this is years old and this comment will likely never be seen) about warging a dragon. Jon will most likely ride Rhaegal, that’s a common theory, BUT your comment here got me thinking about Jon and him maybe going into ghost now that he’s dead (another common theory), but WHAT IF instead of ghost, Jon death wargs into Rhaegal? Yes he’s across the sea and there’s nothing to imply a bond yet, however! What an epic way to confirm the r+l=j theory!
Is the ghost grass prophesy a memory of the Long Night in the Far East? Is the ghost grass thought of as the remnants of The Others who were stopped at that time?
Just watched it and good video but I'd add that "Nation States" isn't what I'd call *any* of the political entities in ASOIAF (very little sense of Nationalism/Patriotism in the Books which is knd of dead. A better term would be *Polities*, some "governence" but like many pre-modern politiy, strong armed by Warlords (Historically IRL, even pre-Modern where even the likes of Ancient Rome or Dynasties in China was de-facto ruled by Warlords). I mean ASOIAF is quite accurate in depicting pre-modern history as everything being ruled by warlords and strongmen/women.
Exactly, nation states are a modern idea, and a world inspired by the Middle ages would not have them unless the author invents a plausible explanation for such a jump in political thought.
However, an alternative to warlords in history is a Republic, like Athens, early Rome, Venice or Novgorod. These polities used to have checks and balances, though usually no universal voting. Not nation states though even those.
I don't know why people get upset at your political opinions. If you disagree, then you disagree don't have to write a stupid comment. Anyway keep up with these streams, your channel is growing a lot.
@@hamarbiljungskile8953 I don't want to see this comment section decent into irl politics, I want to see us talk about Ice and Fire politics. We have too much irl politics elsewhere. That's why I don't speak up.
Hi LML, for your future reference you can find word pronunciations online like here: www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/ermine where you can click on a symbol and hear it. Also since Ermine is made from the animals called Ermine, it would be a fur not a fabric. Ermine is white with a black tip on the very end of the tail. The other very expensive fur often named in medieval-type writing is Sable which is a dark brown.
Can you even imagine getting to the end of July snd George is just like "Winds of Winter is out today, have fun"? There would be riots. It would be awesome.
One thing to keep in mind from our real world regarding the point you make about Azor Ahai sounding like Huzhor Amai is that in real-world historical texts there is the medial s, which looks like a F. That's coming from fairly recent history in our world: www.onlinewritingjobs.com/fun-stuff/medial-s-the-old-english-s-that-looks-like-f/ People born in the last 50 years who do not know of this letter will pronounce the medial S like an F. That causes different pronounciations over time. Like how the Greeks started translating the Bible and changed the Hebrew name of Yeshua into the Greek name Jesus.
These are actually two different patterns, both occurring in language history. Yeshua to Iesus to Jesus is the typical process of adapting a foreign name (no SH sound in Greek, let's use S) and then changes in the target languages (J as in jam is a relatively late sound change in English, later than Christianity anyway). It's not about misreading or mishearing words. There are however some few examples of actual misreading in history. The word zenith is one. It ultimately comes from the Arabic word "semt" that means direction. But late medieval European scribes read this routinely as "senit", and so it went.
After Bran warged Hodor and Varamir Sixskins tried to warg that spearwife I'm convinced anything can be warged. Hell, the Others essentially warg the dead so what's off-limits here?
Chiming in re: sarnor’s matriarchy: is it possible that the last descendant of the Fisher Queens is actually a last descendant of the Amethyst Empress? That might explain the moon symbolism, as well as the matriarchy. Makes sense with the Fisher myth as well; the Amethyst Empress dies and everything goes to hell…
Luci, you gwon make me crai. Thank you for supporting the BLM movement. The world is filled with injustice, imbalance and ignorance, your words bring together so many threads that need to be woven together and not only mythologically speaking, but politically. Our voices need to support and resonate with those whose voices cannot be heard. I am so, so, so fucking proud to call myself a MythHead at this moment, thank you.
GOT, as well as tales of the Rosacruzians speak about the same thing where the female principle (moon symbol) they say, went through some sort of rape by the masculine and from that, Mother Nature became Kali with that ruthless/savage way of operating we find in the absence of light (consciousness) or night symbolizing the absence of it, irl literally consciousness retreats at night during deep sleep. They(RC) associate this event with the Iron age(?) If we were to equate what is known about this from GOT with real life stuff, would b interesting to get clear about what exactly would George be pointing us at, provided it would be how it happened fr. It's been said there was am Earth-like planet I think called Tiamat(that implies a lot! Including another race human) apparently something made it get shattered, a portion of it remained fragmented in its gravitational field and the other part was pushed out of it closer to the Sun and became what we now know as our Moon. The fragments that remained suspended are thought to be the Asteroid belt amd it makes me think a lot of the dragons being associated with meteorite
@@DavidLightbringer omg and I just read someone out there saying Tiamat means Dragon Queen and that she was the 1st mother of the Anunaki "gods". Apprently Tiamat got banged by something big (some say Nibiru , but err ??) Also Venus is called a planet but maybe it is that Moon that catched fire in GOT perhaps that is actually the other piece of Tiamat? Vedic astrology call Venus as Shukra which is the sphere corresponding to the guru of all Azuras(evil entities) an enlightened malefic sphere ..what a tangent from your comment, but coming accross Tiamat being the Dragon Queen after having talked about it yesterday got me hyped on the whole topic, so much to this puzzle! Now calling the metheorites with the horn would make a ton of sense I feel , specially if someone has the will and mean to invoke a doom
Zorses are not straight up zebras as those just cannot be tamed. In real life zorses are the infertile offspring off horses and zebras. With about half the temper of zebras. I asoiaf the hybridized are likely not infertile, similar to how there are all kinds of fertile human x dragon/other/squisher/giant, etc offspring. I think the idea is to make the Jogos Nhai even crazier by riding half zebras that are more aggressive and unwieldy than horses.

Yes, ermine is pronounced "erh-min," rather than "erh-myne" no. Not sure where the "majority" got the idea it's pronounced "erhmyne." I searched several dictionaries for pronunciation and they invariably pronounce it "erh-min"

No, that’s not a coincidence at all, I think that’s a clear indication that the Valyrians descend from the GEOTD
This man is speaking nothing but truth, proof that sometimes these things only click after reading them the 12th time, that is a mfing sLaM DuNK
I loved you rant. All life is unique and because it is unique its value cannot be quantified. Thus all life is priceless and should be valued.
Ah this was a really fun deep dive :)
Love a little lore talk! Thanks for the Sunday fun!
I am so annoyed UA-cam is giving me ads like every two minutes
Hmm someone else mentioned that. I wonder if they are increasing the frequency of ads; I dont usually control that, I just let YT do its thing.
@@DavidLightbringer lol Nothing will stop me from watching you my friend.
I think they're just contemporary. I don't see any mysteries in their origin really
Amazing stream all round! Thank you for your work.
I do keep wondering about that black pool though.
I don't want to spoil an amazing moment for you so I'll just recommend you read martin's short story "The Ice Dragon" ;)

Thank you so much for sharing about how Rage against the Machine influenced your early life! Wonderful story and a great way to articulate nuance into your talk!
Greetings from America’s Fleabottom 🐊
Black Lives Matter, thanks man. It´s good to know where you stand.
I’m listening to this after the fact, but it’s always great to hear myth-lovers take an anti-racist stand. It’s awful and goes against the universality of myths and archetypes when nationalists or racists co-opt gods or symbolism. It’s good to hear where ya stand.
Hells yeah, this comment more than makes up for the “I was with you until you said BLM” guy from yesterday lol
@@DavidLightbringer we are with you man, even from rural forgotten places
As a white male with military service, a homeowner, a gun owner, and a father, I say this. black lives matter, trans rights exist, it's your body your choice and lastly orange man bad.. to be UA-cam friendly I'd say F. T.. if I wasn't afraid for your channel and mine. Much love to LML for being a good human. 👍
How could this possibly get 29 dislikes? Ppl really out here hating for no reason smh. Keep up the amazing work LML, we’re lucky to have you help keeping ASOIAF so exciting with the incredible content!🔥🙌🏾
Well 3 or 4 are bitter trolls who downvote me based on the fake-cancelling nonsense from a year ago, and the rest are racist white boys who somehow didn't pick up on ASOIAF and myself in particular being fairly progressive. I'm happy to have their downvotes
Lucifer means Lightbringer Lmao they are so delusional one of the things that makes this community so awesome is it’s progressiveness. Honestly one of the difficulties about being a ‘nerd’ of color so to speak is unfortunately there are a lot of spaces that we’re not welcome. It truly makes me appreciate UA-cam personalities like yourself who aren’t afraid to take a stand when necessary and truly make an effort to create a space that is inclusive. Honestly man you’re awesome, thank you for being you!
Quite sad to think of all the ancient cultures that the West has completely destroyed.
Wait, I meant the Dothraki. 🤪
This guy might be the biggest ASOIAF nerd around.
Dany - no mortal man can blow Dragonbinder - have we ever considered that Dany may have died and resurrected in drogos pyre when she hatched her dragons??
She was resurrected as what
Talking about Tool, Kendrick Lamar, System Of A Down, and Rage Against The Machine; that was the icing on the cake.
This one I really enjoy. I love the history in a way I just can't get into with some of the politicking. And the dothraki and sarnori are my FAV. Well, well done sir, as always!
I had way too much fun doing this one too!
These livestreams are awesome, thx
Watching this after the stream, and the weatherman bit was the BEST. omg
I think Dany is reborn in fire and blood in the khals’ funeral pyre in a mirror of Drogo’s pyre.
Sarnori = IRL Scythians
I wonder how Tomyris feels about this.
Awwww yeaaaaaa gettin' our comparative history awn!

Another hitter!
Black Lives Matter. Well put LML, your search for truth is inspiring. Much love
I am sure if you aak anyone, their life matters
why don't you think Dany and Faegon become allies, since backfires are Targarians too, couldn't he be the third head of the dragon?

That's true. Hold on...

Aw Yeah this was a ton of fun. This is like playing fake historian / anthropologist to the max!
great stream, great content creator
One thing to keep in mind from our real world regarding the point you make about Azor Ahai sounding like Huzhor Amai is that in real-world historical texts there is the medial s, which looks like a F. That's coming from fairly recent history in our world: www.onlinewritingjobs.com/fun-stuff/medial-s-the-old-english-s-that-looks-like-f/
People born in the last 50 years who do not know of this letter will pronounce the medial S like an F.
Are you telling me that some of those who ran zorses are the same who found horses?
🤣🤣🤣
Chiming in re: sarnor’s matriarchy: is it possible that the last descendant of the Fisher Queens is actually a last descendant of the Amethyst Empress? That might explain the moon symbolism, as well as the matriarchy. Makes sense with the Fisher myth as well; the Amethyst Empress dies and everything goes to hell…
This may be one of my favorites
Thank you for showing your support for and solidarity with black lives matter. I think you’re brilliant. Keep up the great work!
I thought you were pointing to areas on the map with your horns . . .
I've wondered if George imagines an asteroid belt or oort cloud from which magic comets can be called or something like that
@@DavidLightbringer omg and I just read someone out there saying Tiamat means Dragon Queen and that she was the 1st mother of the Anunaki "gods".
Thank you.

2:00 who is that saying "hi quinn" in background?
I will say that I am disgusted by police violence, and have been for years!
Aside from the politics, love the video
I misheard "Huzhor Amai" as "Whose Whore Am I?" :D - and I'm probably not the first. I wonder if that's GRRM being silly. I wouldn't put it past him.
Hey, would you mind pinning that dragon containing souls link, or something? I can't find the one by jaystargaryen - probably misspelled it.
