      Especially on mine salons never get my hair blonde it turns orange because they use too weak of a developer it takes a 50 on my dark hair. I've done it at home it's just a pain.

    sis bless your soul! i have been trying to get this sh*t out of my hair for over a month with vitamin C treatments. I just bought bleach but was still afraid it would turn out bright yellow. I’m gonna try to bleach it sometime this week & use the ion lavender to tone it. thank you so much for uploading your hair journey!

      Hey girl! The ion lavender moon toner washed out pretty quick so I recommend using a wella permanent liquid toner to tone. I ended up toning one more time with wella t10 because it just wasn’t toned enough. I’m so glad this helped someone. Good luck on your hair🙌🏻🙌🏻

      How did it go for you? I tried to bleach it out of my hair and it was such a terrible journey, I bleached 2 diff times and before that, I had used vit c treatments and oil treatments overnight for a couple weeks. After bleaching it, it was super yellow and just really terrible looking so I tried to tone it with a wella toner Idk which 1 and it went green on me and just a bunch of diff colors. I was over it and just turned my whole head hot pink with manic panic to grow it out. It’s been over a year now but damn did it suck

      Kendra A Wow, that’s rough. Was your henna pure and did you have other dyes under it? I had put lush henna over bleached hair. I think the color oops really did the most for removing the henna before bleaching. If I were to do it again I would have skipped the vitamin c and oil.

    • @kendrasheart

      MauraTV it was indigo and henna the very very 1st time I did it and then after that it was just henna. The vit c did good at lightening it for me but not removing the color. I tried color oops on the henna and indigo after I did it and it just made it darker lol it smelled so bad that I never tried it again to remove just the henna

      Have you talked to a hair stylist about it? I’m curious what they would do to color correct.

    Turned out pretty well I would do a little more toning with something purple harder to help combat bass tones but it wasn’t too brassy you look nice with a slightly more ashy tone to your hair :)

    • @mauratv
      @mauratv 3 роки тому

      I know girl. I wanted to get it lighter so I could go for more of a silvery lavender. What happened with the toner is I used a level ten toner on a level 8/9 canvas so despite being violet and blue based it didn’t disguise all the brass. I really didn’t want to use a darker level toner but that’s what was really needed. Thanks for watching love 💕

    I've had henna in my hair for eight months and was told my hair will fall out if I try to remove it. Did you lose much hair?

    • @mauratv
      @mauratv 2 роки тому

      Hey there 👋. No, I didn’t lose anymore hair than I normally would just shampooing.
      I would look up the ingredients that were in the henna you used. Your hair can be ruined if it contained any metals in the dye that you used.
      I used lush henna which had no metals in it and that’s why it was safe to bleach. I recently posted a 1 year update and I cover all those things in that video.

      @@ginnyleedays That's the same brand I used for my hair. The henna lifted pretty well. But once I tried the brown, my hair went downhill from there because it contains indigo. Watch out for indigo, it won't lift well and you could be stuck with green hair. You're fine with lifting just henna though.

  • @damnedgirl9860

    Hi thanks for the video! Anyone knows what would happen if i use box dye 6.1 blonde over my hair dyed with henna? I've used henna just about 2 months, but i wanted it darker so i mixed the natural henna with dark brown henna (and i think it has PPD) but the colour faded and now i have it just orange... so i wanted to dyed it a darker blonde 6.1 and i think its okay with my base colour... but is there any risks if i do it? :( like its my hair going to melt or something? (I read that somewhere..)

    • @mauratv
      @mauratv 2 роки тому +1

      I don’t think it will help get the color you want. Henna is a direct dye so it lays on the top layer of your hair shaft. The box dye you’re talking about probably has peroxide in it. Which means it will lift the hair cuticle and deposit the dye into the hair hair shaft. So you’ll have the orange color on the surface of your hair covering the new color. Probably will look very muddy brown. Whether your hair will melt or not depends on the type of henna you used. Many brands have metals in the henna which when met with peroxide burns your hair off. To be safe I always do a test strand to see what will happen. I did that before bleaching my henna dyed hair too. Good luck 🙌

    • @mauratv
      @mauratv 3 роки тому +1

      That’s a good question. So many people have that same problem. I’ve never used the black henna but I know that the only reason it would have a bad reaction with bleach is if it has metals in the henna dye. It will be very difficult to remove unfortunately. The darker the color the harder it is to remove.

    • @mauratv
      @mauratv 3 роки тому +1

      I forgot to mention you may want to use a semi permanent black dye for you roots instead of reapplying the henna. The semi dye is much easier to remove than henna.

      It would turn green when you bleach it because of the indigo. I used a natural brand called light mountain henna which did not contain any metallic properties thankfully but my hair still turned a hue of green on the test run I did with bleach. In the past I was able to bleach over henna that was only red not black, so you're pretty much stuck till you grow out all that hair. Take it from me because I did everything I could to fade out the black henna and it's still very noticeable.

      Not as light as I wanted to get it in the first month. But what you should take away from it is that it’s possible to lighten it and it’s a process. A lot of people believe it will just melt or turn green! Haha. I continue to lighten it every six weeks in order to get it to my goal which is level ten so I can go lavender. Today I have it at level 9. 😜
