This video discusses Saudi Arabia's Megaproject called The Line. A $1 Trillion 170km (75-Mile) Skyscraper that will span across the desert.
And the line is under construction now! Recent drone footage shows a massive line being dug out across the desert.
Most people will wonder what the Saudi government is thinking by trying to construct a 1,600 feet skyscraper that is 75 miles long with a mirrored glass exterior. We know that is a lot, but this plan has a perfectly logical explanation.
In January 2021, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman announced that the city would be called Neom. He believed that Saudi Arabia could take on a construction project as monumental as the Egyptian Pyramids. Engineers in charge of this project have said that this Mirror Line skyscraper will take 50 years to build, but the Saudi Prince intends it to be ready by 2030.

Arabians actually know how to work so it aint gonna be like that. They did Burj Al-Khalifa in 6 years and if they took 6 years in making the tallest building in the world, they will take a lot less making these silly towers. Maybe 2 minutes or less (Joke)
@@Nashville_129Even if they manage to finish it, there will be no incentive to live there. You get maybe 1 hour of sunlight per day, you need an insanely expensive cooling solution and it exaggerates the problem with cities like Dubai, by being in the middle of an uninhabitable desert, with nothing around you for miles. This is just waiting to become a dystopian hellhole.
And the Burj Al-Khalifa has it's own fair share of problems. Like needing a long line of trucks to transport the sewage away, because they messed the sewage system part up during planning. Now imagine all the things that could go wrong with a 170km long building in the middle of nowhere.

When the project costs more than the country's GDP
I think their GDP is more than the project cost
@@mdhasiburrahman8806 the project cost is estimated at $1T
The Saudi government has massive amounts of investments globally through the Public Investment Fund which is worth around $700 billion today and is estimated to reach around $2-3 trillion in the next 5 years. So a country’s government could posses much more money than the GDP of their country, just like the Saudi government.

Jeddah Tower was not under the supervision of the Saudi government and MBS, it was built by company that later was founded guilty of embezzlement of money, that’s why the building was stopped for a while until recently MBS stepped in and bought the tower and now the construction process has resumed, everyday on my way to school I drive by it and I already witnessed the process, so don’t compare a project that’s owned by a private company to a government owned project.
