You are correct and I already got him but it was not easy with 1 hand as I am a handicapt. Despite that fact I do not think it is fair that a boss 1 or 2 shots us and we do not get the tools to do the same to him, peace out!
It didn't work for me, the video is not well explained because I have the entire bild pointing at the ground, I don't target it and even so I do very little damage.
@@thecolorsideofthemoon3346 make sure you are striking with the ash of war. it works. during the boss fight she doesn't explicitly say to use the ash of war to attack, but she mentions it is essential to the build earlier in the video. i am on xbox and have never used a weapon ash of war so i had to learn that a left-side button on the controller triggers the ash of war on the main hand (right hand) weapon.

The only thing I felt bitter about in this game was beating the original Radahn on the battlefield before From nerfed him, then everybody beat him, then they buffed him a little bit again. A lot of players don't know what that original Radahn fight was like in 2022, and I'm here to shake my cane about it!
Well I'm not having fun with this boss and isn't that the point of a game? Feel like the completely missed the point of their own game design with this last boss. It's not fun. I even went back to defeat Melania as a way to get a break from him lol

I genuinely believe that FromSoft designs their games for the purposes of cheesing. I remember back in Dark Souls 1 facing the sewer dragon, the best strategy was to get lightning grease on your weapon (weak to lightning) and cut off it's tail. Boom, you win. Can even summon npc's to help. Seriously, FromSoft WANTS us to take advantage of these leverages in battle
@@HerMi.T99.9% of attacks you can dodge. Radahn is 100% unfair. Very fun fight though, I’m on my 3rd playthrough of the DLC now. Most of the DLC bosses play like Nioh, or just flat up say “fuck your rules here’s a 27 hit combo”
@@goodhoonter9882 The same case is made for Elden Ring. Lots of bosses have moves you can jump, dodge specifically, or even fully script fights. UNFORTUNATELY, like I said. This dlc and the bosses play like nioh instead of ER. And THAT is the reason why most people are having so much trouble. In Nioh, unless you use cheese, it’s one of the hardest games of the typing. Obviously it’s case by case and it’s personal experience bottom line. For me; Nioh is the hardest(without cheese like sloth and def talisman) Sekiro is the easiest.
My favorite DLC video so far - so personal, funny, and helpful. Not sure I’ll use it, but it’s nice to know it’s there - and that even Souls fans can reach their limit. Nice work!
Yeah, this boss in my opinion went over the threshold for what's hard but fair in FromSoft games imo. I've managed so far to get within a few hits from defeating the boss and what I did was do the shield build that everyone was doing but I used Mohgs spear and summoned my mimic which would do that blood loss aoe attack from the spear while Radahn was focused on me. I would then get a few hits on him man and managed to do like 10k damage at once when combined with my mimic's attacks. This was very inconsistent and even with my mimic I've still died over 20 times, but I'm determined to eventually get him with it. Thanks for the cheese build though I am sure a lot of people will benefit from it and have no shame in using it.
If you want to do it without any cheese. Here is my advice. I don't think this boss is really bad. He is quite fair actually when you learn it. He is definitely hard. Always remain close to him and dodge around him precisely in the correct direction. I am saying that look at his attacks and dodge how you normally dodge it but around him mostly toward his swipe attacks, so that you will end up behind him. That way, you will not get hit by his light trails. About after image attacks, run perpendicular to him. He will miss every afterimage except the final one. Roll it at the correct time and you will be fine. For the dash one, you had to roll twice. I don't think any of his attacks are undodgeable. He is quite fair actually. It forces you to be more precise and aware of your placement. That's all.
@@HerMi.T Thanks for that I beat him with the shield and Mohgs staff build using my mimic to get the blood loss aoe effect off. He was still very tough and took me around 30 tries. The first phase is quite good but the second phase is just bad boss design. They throw so many light effects on top of his already tough moveset and as if that's not enough you also have worry about the grab attack where Miquella can steal your heart. It's just too much going on and it goes over that tough but fair threshold in the second phase. The best boss in the dlc imo is Messmer The Impaler where his attacks are satisfying to dodge and the snake transitions and attacks are easy to dodge once you get the hang of it. He should of been the bar to meet in terms of boss design for the dlc imo or Bayle the dread but I understand that's a very high bar to attain. I really hope Radahn gets a nerf.
The problem is phase 2. If you’re unlucky with the rng it’s a lot harder. I finally beat him but had to respect to the “poke” build. Shield makes the fight really easy.
That's what's sad about it. He's hard because he's unfair. Too much rapid insta hit spam over and over. He isn't fun to play which IMO overshadows all the fun I had with the rest of the dlc since he's the last thing I experienced. Their design philosophy is I'll feel great once I've been pissed off beyond belief after defeating them. No, I won't want to buy your next game.
the best part about this is that it's not a cheese. This is a legit tactic. They might nerf it, but its not "so we're gonna snipe the boss from outside the arena" or "were gonna have him drop down a hill and buss up his shins"
@@giannis7707 I am using it, no chance. 2nd fase it is end of the line max lvl200 max sacru and summon. No chance. If FromSoft nerfs the bottles most of us are f*cked.

@@giannis7707 Using also bloodfient arc 75 (should be more then enough), the problem is he does not leave alone for 1 second after I spawned, no chance for the mimic etc. Only thing I can do when I spawned is dodging and healing lol. This is no fun anymore and I am used to a lot of bullshit.
I’ve had the urge to cheese but I can’t get myself to do it. I’m over 400 tries and I have to beat this guy with my build no matter how long it takes me. I might be insane 🤷🏼♂️. Your build is very impressive tho.
Just used this 7/4/24 at 6:45 a.m. est (prior to the patch that also released today, unsure if it will affect perfume bottles). Phase 1 my damage was similar to video . Phase 2 I had to spam three more attacks than what was shown in the video. I did equip iron jar aromatic prior to the fight but unsure if that did more harm than good because I forgot you fat roll. If it wasn’t clear you are only using L2 for damage. DO NOT LOCK ON and aim for Radahn’s crusty dusty feet. Thanks for the video I was getting curb stomped every time then after I respeced I got him first try.

Thank you for this. I too was a katana build and I had 0 issues with any of the bosses in the DLC, then came the final boss and I spend 7 hours pulling my hair out. I would get him to phase two and it was over for me in just a couple hits as he hits hard. I was constantly dodging attacks with little option of attacking. So I was on youtube looking at strategy videos and came across yours. So I decided to try this build. And it worked, took him in 3-4 hits. But it still wasnt easy. It took me about 5 more attempts as untargeting him and aiming at the ground was a bit odd. And timing it between his attacks. But I did it. I dont care if I had to respec to do it. This DLC was amazing.
Yesterday after 4 hours trying and learning his patterns I was in the same situation as you, I'm going that same build, he doesn't deserve my samurai swords. xd
Have they nerfed this already? I have the exact same build with same exact everything, and I’m going nowehere near as much damage. I have all scadutree fragments, same armour, same attributes and I’m still getting one hit killed.
Just wanted to pop on and say this WORKS! Just did it about an hour ago. To anyone not getting her damage numbers, make sure you actually fill your madness bar, I had to cast Shabriri 2 sometimes 3x. Also do not lock on and make sure you're aiming for the ground in front of his feet. One last thing, this isn't an instant win button, you're still going to have to learn the fight, learn to dodge and look for your openings. Thanks again Ericutz!

Got all talisman, the ash of war, rakhasha whatever set, silly hat, perfume 25+ and can't kill him first phase Edit: It doesn’t work because you aiming in the wrong way, aim at the floor, bellow radahn and you will definetly kill him
for everyones information, if you summon thiollier or ansbach the boss get's 60% more health and some ekstra to resistances.. if u summon both it's not just an ekstra 60% but 60% multiplicative.. makes him very VERY hard to stagger and even more of a tank
I have no shame in saying that I was using the Verdigris great shield from Moore with the great shield talisman and the pearl shield talisman to take absolutely zero damage. I know a certain big Twitch streamer has made the great shield build quite popular but I have to admit I've loved running great shields in all Souls games. It's just so much stronger in this game and is really slept on. Sure, it's cheesy but there are way cheesier things in Elden Ring. Definitely try it out with a spear or rapier like the Antspur and guard while poking bosses to death with bleed and scarlet rot lol. It really helps if you run barricade shield on the fingerprint shield with turtle talisman and stam regen in your flask and hold block at all times. I literally almost first tried Consort Radahn with it but took about 5 attempts.
I can't thank you enough for this! I was really enjoying my time with this DLC until I got to this boss. I tried so many different weapons and strategies and was about to give up until I came across this video. As a bonus, after the fight, I went back to the base game and obliterated everything in my path (except for Malenia). But yeah, sadly, I don't think I'll beat the DLC ever again.
btw just a tip, if you long press (like 2 seconds) the key to switch items, you'll get back to the 1st one in the list (which usually is the healing flask) :)
More like a clever strategic use of multipe items. Souls games are all about finding out new and clever ways. In my first playthrough, I went for a rot method just remind Radhan of Malenia, but this time I wanted to try something new and this perfumer method is just stupidly funny and fun. :) For anyone wondering, it is working as of today and RL150 with 80 faith.
Nice video . Since Dark Souls 1 I have always loved the 1 hit challenges where you see the bosses die with a single attack. I think you should try using more buffs in the future, both for damage and defense, there are quite a few and they are fun to use
Carian dueling shield with frost grease both phases, two hefty rot pots at phase change and an uplifting aromatic to tank the big aoe, both shield talismans, stamina reduction and elemental reduction while guarding, two handed sword talisman, two headed turtle talisman. New shield tear in physic. Trade into almost everything with guarded r1s, run left or right for big rock sling and dodge exactly left or right (whatever direction you're running) when they're about to hit. Getting the special blocks isn't very important, go for some kind of defense tear here if you're iffy on that. It is important to keep the shield standard to keep its gaurd up.
I finally killed him! Damage negation+max health physick tears, boiled crab, lords divine protection incant, tree sentinel chest for holy resist, mushroom crown for damage around rot, scarlet aeonia for rot, black blade incant for initial massive hit to hp. Dragoncrest greatshield talisman, golden braid, pealdrake +2, old lord's talisman, Siluria's tree spear and Clawmark Seal +25. Oh, and a lot of farming mats to make holyproof dried livers for phase 2 EDIT: Oh and scadutree level 16, i really didnt want to hunt for more fragments
I guess you had different experiences than I did. This is one of those bosses where for me I didn’t care how many times I died cuz I was having a blast. It invoked a feeling where every time I died, I didn’t go “damn what bullshit” Instead I’m constantly in the zone! I also learned that he can be parried and when I found that out I giggled and currently still having a blast. Very interesting build tho Erica! Very impressive! Great video maam
My first playthrough of dark souls 3 I were a strength build. My second as a mage. I’ve been a mage ever since. I’m a mage in Elden Ring. I find the game easier and a lot more fun that way. I got tired of the dodging and rolling that you do with swords. I find the dlc is meant for magic builds and potions since there are a ton of cookbooks in the dlc.i think they might be trying to push more people towards a magic build since the majority do strength and dex builds.
I just beat Radahn...oh. what a relief. Here is what worked for me(level 238)-- . I just beat Radahn using my standard DLC Boss build.(great all-around build for mobs and all/can be switched with BB or Sacred Relic sword easily with a few tweaks) I used the 1 NPC, Mimic +10, Blasphemous Blade+10, Erdtree Seal +10, shard of alexander, talisman of the dread(buffs BB!), Pearldrake tal +3, Dragonquest greatshield talisman, flame grant me strength, golden vow and a pickled turtle neck. When he uses that golden wave attack, run a way and then jump when you hear the sound. Flask is opaline bubble tear and flame-shr cracked tear. 60 vigor, 80 faith, mind, end, str and dex at 40. Level 238(now 239 after) It took me about 5 attempts today. (Died around 100 times total with 3 different builds) Good luck!
Phase 2 is so random… he’s more hyper aggressive and I don’t even have a chance. I think RNG on what he does on his second phase was kind to you on this video…
Shield poke with antspur rapier and fingerprint shield (talusmans - dragoncrest great shield, great shield, two headed turtle, pearl shield). Bleed and scarlet rot on rapier. Just watch out for his grab and meteor strike. Enjoy your victory.
I just beat him today after the update, I wish I had this option because I most definitely would’ve used it. I hated fighting him and I don’t think I will ever fight him again.
Just got the b*stard using this method! Took a few attempts to get the timings down, but got him in just 3 hits! Amazing damage output! Had real fun putting this build together. Thank you good person 🙏🏻
Honestly i have no idea why is everyone hating on this video simply because you defeated radahn. And its funny that you are literally me on how i play the game lol. Also good job beating him and of course thank you so much for thsi amazing tutorial! Thats just amazing. This isn't cheese, this is legitimate. Cheese means playing the game in a way that it wasn't meant to be played. High damage buffs and OP weapons is what Elden Ring is all about. Enjoy and relish in your win. I have not made it to Radahn yet, I'm being slow and want to get all the Scadutree Fragments before I tackle him, but I beat Bayle The Dread in the same way, and Bayle was a tough boss, apparently I saw him on one list he made it to #2 of the hardest bosses. He hits like Darkseid but thankfully I got him. I'll see how bad Radahn is soon enough, he definitely looks the worst.
Thanks for sharing. Yea this boss was the only boss I needed to summon for another player for help. I was using the thorns spell while the other guy had the tank shield.
THANK YOU I failed on this lame, unfun boss for hours and tried like 5 other "broken" builds and nothing worked but this did! Just destroyed him in literally 40 seconds on my second try. For me, Souls games have so much bullshit and jank that using broken builds to fight broken bosses is not only okay it's downright karmic justice.
I made it through the whole DLC without much problem rockin the great katana with some ranged incants. Then Radahn, I respec'd for him lvl 200 and went 99 endurance, 60 vig, 25 faith, and rest into strength and dex. I pulled out the old reliable shield turtle poke bleed build. Moore's armor, fingerprint shield, Naginata (one of my fav weapons) with rot grease for 1st phase and blood flame for 2nd. It got the job done on 3rd try after getting my ass kicked for hours.
Right now i use the same Parfume build buuuuut i think i bugged the Boss... Radan won´t get any DMG from me even if i hit the ground below him (25 trys still no dmg😅)
Let me preface. I've beaten every souls game multiple times. I hundred-percented Sekiro back in January. This is the first time I have genuinely believed a fight was difficult to the point of not being enjoyable. I've been pushed to the point of anger in many bosses before, who hasn't right? But I was always making progress toward victory, and that made the grind fun. Not this time however. I've switched builds 3; Dex/Int, Strength/Faith, Dex/Bleed all with fully upgraded weapons and I'm barely laying a finger on him. Closest I've gotten to beating him was perfect dodging and hitting him with a glintstone pebble, but as soon as he caught me it was over. He outright never stops attacking and I don't have time to make more than a single light attack (that I trade with) before I have to run again. If it keeps up like this I'll welcome the cheese.
I had the exact same reaction with this boss, your video came up as a recommendation and I swapped once I found all the components and smashed his face in. I was soo done with the boss and wanted to move on. Thank you to @syrobe for this hilarious build
@@Craggle25 I am doing that and it shows only 16k+ damage only and with one hit I can't get him to the second phase as in the video .. I don't know what's wrong now .. I have to attack and dodge again to take to the 2nd phase
@@gaminglord2138 maybe take a look at your stats, it needs more investment in faith potentially. I also ground out the black head thingy from the original video as I wanted to ensure I could smash his face in. I also spammed the ash of war, not just pressing it once
I actually did the same. On my first playthru, I him solo with Level 14 Skibidi tree. The build I used is Black Steel shield (magic imbue) + Antspur Rapier (poison mist + Bleed imbue). Originally my build was guts sword + lion's claw, but I did like 50-60 tries before I respec'd to the build above. 2nd playthru I used the same build but only with Flame grant me strength + Golden vow. I didn't specc'd into Raksasha and Madness stacking. Was able to defeat him in 5 tries lmao.
It works, but I had to keep it simple. Do not summon NPCs, do not use mimic tear. Aim completely down at the feet. Phase 2 run to him, again DOWN at the feet, do not lock on. Finally it took a little bit of luck in the try, but two full hits were enough. Attack only with the ash of war.
After so many failed attempts at the final DLC boss, hours spent trying different setups, even the perfume bottles weren't working for me! I searched for an easy start and found the Chicken Nugget Bleed Bonk (that's what I'm calling it, lol). Worked like a charm!
She doesn't mention that to get these damage numbers you need to look straight down at the ground so that the effects go off immediately. Otherwise the damage is more random and may not hit like this.
@@sunnysidee13 well possibly, but my lvl is 321 and all stats but arcane are 50s or higher. The video shows the player's faith at 50, not sure what I'm doing differently.
Nothing to be ashamed of. Some people "git gud" by learning boss moves, others by knowing how to mix/match items/spells/etc. to maximize damage/defense. They're both a form of mastery of the game, since they reflect a lot of knowledge about the game. Different fields of knowledge, but still they're not opening a console and typing a cheat code OR installing a mod giving yourself god mode. Those are the only things I'd consider unfair. But whatever's in the game is fair game from my point of view.
This is some Asmon level of cheesing. My Brass Shield and Serpent Hunter carried me all the way and I thought that build was a bit too easy. At least for everything except this fight, it took me 10 hours of gitin gud but I still prefer that over 4-shotting him like this. That's just like giving up.
I've seen "Let me solo her" stream and he struggled with armor so I knew us mere mortals would find it almost impossible to have the stamina with lightning fast reflexes to slowly grind the boss down to death. I also like to find exploits in games. I remember in Baldur's Gate 3 there was a vampire boss where I simply cast Daylight and he would get damage over time during the conversation which did not trigger combat so I stood there until he died.
I ended up having to change my from my usual armor set and used the meteoric ore greatsword ash of war and with golden vow and howl. I had thrown myself at the boss for several hours and got close once but needed the defense that my usual gear didn't give. So I just changed up a bit and in two tries I beat him. Lucky as hell win but a win is a win.
If it wasn't for his phase 2, I would honestly probably *like* this boss. Parrying his phase 1 has been a lot of fun, even though it's excruciatingly difficult. All this phase 1 moves are basically reasonable. Phase 2 is a series of strobe lights that kill you and I hate it.
Straight up: im struggling hard against radahn And seeing a video titled “cheese” made my heart sink BUT this is a tactic not a cheese :) congrats on the win Might even do this myself
The first 2 minutes of this video describes my adventures in the dlc 100% exactly 😅 I too bit the bullet and went for this approach and, like you, i also beat him in under 60 seconds

100% agree with everything you said. I’ve never used a mage style build in any souls game but after 3 respecs went with the thorn sorcery build and finally beat him yesterday. Was it a valiant win? No. Did he deserve my respect? No.
Honestly, a lot of the bosses in this DLC were just lazily made "hard" by making them spammy and hyper aggressive. But they're very one dimensional. I used the FP shield and Anspur build to beat Radahn. Then, on my other character who was further back in the DLC, I decided what the heck, let's try that with others. Well, it smokes every boss. I changed the weapon out sometimes depending on the boss but it was always a thrusting type. So, I thought let's see how this does with the main game bosses I have left to do with this play through.... Not so good. Fire Giant, Maliketh, Marika, and Elden Beast were tough. Beatable, but tough (Melenia not so much. This build actually tanks waterfowl dance). And I've beat them all many times. Astel (Snowfields), forget it... Hard to hit with that set up. But DLC Radahn I beat 2nd try with that build.... Twice. Point is, these DLC bosses are cheap and spammy. Turn yourself into a tank, and they're nothing but flash. A real disappointment.
I used a classic from the base game. Marius executioner great sword. The trick was getting the window to get it off. I didn't go all that hard into buffs, but if Icould get a full charge off I could phase him in 1 go.
The DLC seemed to encourage massive weapon cheese strats. Dex builds felt like playing an optional mode, there was so much poise. Milady and wing stance heavy carried me, until Radahn.
I think there was a bug for me. Ever when I used golden vow and the madness skill, I couldnt do any damage on radahn with the ash of war. since I tried to not use the vow, the whole buold worked fine and I also just needed 3 hits.

@@HerMi.T99.9% of attacks you can dodge. Radahn is 100% unfair. Very fun fight though, I’m on my 3rd playthrough of the DLC now.
Most of the DLC bosses play like Nioh, or just flat up say “fuck your rules here’s a 27 hit combo”

@@goodhoonter9882 The same case is made for Elden Ring. Lots of bosses have moves you can jump, dodge specifically, or even fully script fights. UNFORTUNATELY, like I said. This dlc and the bosses play like nioh instead of ER. And THAT is the reason why most people are having so much trouble. In Nioh, unless you use cheese, it’s one of the hardest games of the typing. Obviously it’s case by case and it’s personal experience bottom line. For me; Nioh is the hardest(without cheese like sloth and def talisman) Sekiro is the easiest.
My favorite DLC video so far - so personal, funny, and helpful. Not sure I’ll use it, but it’s nice to know it’s there - and that even Souls fans can reach their limit. Nice work!
Yeah, this boss in my opinion went over the threshold for what's hard but fair in FromSoft games imo. I've managed so far to get within a few hits from defeating the boss and what I did was do the shield build that everyone was doing but I used Mohgs spear and summoned my mimic which would do that blood loss aoe attack from the spear while Radahn was focused on me. I would then get a few hits on him man and managed to do like 10k damage at once when combined with my mimic's attacks. This was very inconsistent and even with my mimic I've still died over 20 times, but I'm determined to eventually get him with it. Thanks for the cheese build though I am sure a lot of people will benefit from it and have no shame in using it.
If you want to do it without any cheese. Here is my advice. I don't think this boss is really bad.
He is quite fair actually when you learn it. He is definitely hard. Always remain close to him and dodge around him precisely in the correct direction.
I am saying that look at his attacks and dodge how you normally dodge it but around him mostly toward his swipe attacks, so that you will end up behind him. That way, you will not get hit by his light trails. About after image attacks, run perpendicular to him.
He will miss every afterimage except the final one. Roll it at the correct time and you will be fine. For the dash one, you had to roll twice. I don't think any of his attacks are undodgeable.
He is quite fair actually. It forces you to be more precise and aware of your placement. That's all.
@@HerMi.T Thanks for that I beat him with the shield and Mohgs staff build using my mimic to get the blood loss aoe effect off. He was still very tough and took me around 30 tries. The first phase is quite good but the second phase is just bad boss design. They throw so many light effects on top of his already tough moveset and as if that's not enough you also have worry about the grab attack where Miquella can steal your heart. It's just too much going on and it goes over that tough but fair threshold in the second phase. The best boss in the dlc imo is Messmer The Impaler where his attacks are satisfying to dodge and the snake transitions and attacks are easy to dodge once you get the hang of it. He should of been the bar to meet in terms of boss design for the dlc imo or Bayle the dread but I understand that's a very high bar to attain. I really hope Radahn gets a nerf.
The problem is phase 2. If you’re unlucky with the rng it’s a lot harder. I finally beat him but had to respect to the “poke” build. Shield makes the fight really easy.
That's what's sad about it. He's hard because he's unfair. Too much rapid insta hit spam over and over. He isn't fun to play which IMO overshadows all the fun I had with the rest of the dlc since he's the last thing I experienced. Their design philosophy is I'll feel great once I've been pissed off beyond belief after defeating them. No, I won't want to buy your next game.

There are no cheese tactics for this boss. His logic doesn't break, he's in your face constantly and there's nowhere for you to hide or exploit.

@@giannis7707 Using also bloodfient arc 75 (should be more then enough), the problem is he does not leave alone for 1 second after I spawned, no chance for the mimic etc. Only thing I can do when I spawned is dodging and healing lol. This is no fun anymore and I am used to a lot of bullshit.
I’ve had the urge to cheese but I can’t get myself to do it. I’m over 400 tries and I have to beat this guy with my build no matter how long it takes me. I might be insane 🤷🏼♂️. Your build is very impressive tho.
Just used this 7/4/24 at 6:45 a.m. est (prior to the patch that also released today, unsure if it will affect perfume bottles). Phase 1 my damage was similar to video . Phase 2 I had to spam three more attacks than what was shown in the video. I did equip iron jar aromatic prior to the fight but unsure if that did more harm than good because I forgot you fat roll. If it wasn’t clear you are only using L2 for damage. DO NOT LOCK ON and aim for Radahn’s crusty dusty feet. Thanks for the video I was getting curb stomped every time then after I respeced I got him first try.

I always take the easiest way on bosses, that has always been a part in my gaming experience. Making bosses easy is harder than make them hard.
When building madness, equip the Black Dumpling helmet, and Madding Hand gloves for extra damage.
Thank you for this. I too was a katana build and I had 0 issues with any of the bosses in the DLC, then came the final boss and I spend 7 hours pulling my hair out. I would get him to phase two and it was over for me in just a couple hits as he hits hard. I was constantly dodging attacks with little option of attacking. So I was on youtube looking at strategy videos and came across yours. So I decided to try this build. And it worked, took him in 3-4 hits. But it still wasnt easy. It took me about 5 more attempts as untargeting him and aiming at the ground was a bit odd. And timing it between his attacks. But I did it. I dont care if I had to respec to do it. This DLC was amazing.
Yesterday after 4 hours trying and learning his patterns I was in the same situation as you, I'm going that same build, he doesn't deserve my samurai swords. xd

Have they nerfed this already? I have the exact same build with same exact everything, and I’m going nowehere near as much damage. I have all scadutree fragments, same armour, same attributes and I’m still getting one hit killed.
Don't lock on. Aim at his feet. I had the same problem.

Just wanted to pop on and say this WORKS! Just did it about an hour ago. To anyone not getting her damage numbers, make sure you actually fill your madness bar, I had to cast Shabriri 2 sometimes 3x. Also do not lock on and make sure you're aiming for the ground in front of his feet. One last thing, this isn't an instant win button, you're still going to have to learn the fight, learn to dodge and look for your openings. Thanks again Ericutz!

for everyones information, if you summon thiollier or ansbach the boss get's 60% more health and some ekstra to resistances.. if u summon both it's not just an ekstra 60% but 60% multiplicative.. makes him very VERY hard to stagger and even more of a tank
I have no shame in saying that I was using the Verdigris great shield from Moore with the great shield talisman and the pearl shield talisman to take absolutely zero damage. I know a certain big Twitch streamer has made the great shield build quite popular but I have to admit I've loved running great shields in all Souls games. It's just so much stronger in this game and is really slept on. Sure, it's cheesy but there are way cheesier things in Elden Ring. Definitely try it out with a spear or rapier like the Antspur and guard while poking bosses to death with bleed and scarlet rot lol. It really helps if you run barricade shield on the fingerprint shield with turtle talisman and stam regen in your flask and hold block at all times. I literally almost first tried Consort Radahn with it but took about 5 attempts.

I can't thank you enough for this! I was really enjoying my time with this DLC until I got to this boss. I tried so many different weapons and strategies and was about to give up until I came across this video. As a bonus, after the fight, I went back to the base game and obliterated everything in my path (except for Malenia). But yeah, sadly, I don't think I'll beat the DLC ever again.
btw just a tip, if you long press (like 2 seconds) the key to switch items, you'll get back to the 1st one in the list (which usually is the healing flask) :)

More like a clever strategic use of multipe items. Souls games are all about finding out new and clever ways. In my first playthrough, I went for a rot method just remind Radhan of Malenia, but this time I wanted to try something new and this perfumer method is just stupidly funny and fun. :) For anyone wondering, it is working as of today and RL150 with 80 faith.
The big shield and reduvia/antspur rapier with added bleed to the already added rot worked for me.

Since Dark Souls 1 I have always loved the 1 hit challenges where you see the bosses die with a single attack.
I think you should try using more buffs in the future, both for damage and defense, there are quite a few and they are fun to use

Great video. I'm no where near Radahn but this was very satisfying to watch.
Carian dueling shield with frost grease both phases, two hefty rot pots at phase change and an uplifting aromatic to tank the big aoe, both shield talismans, stamina reduction and elemental reduction while guarding, two handed sword talisman, two headed turtle talisman. New shield tear in physic. Trade into almost everything with guarded r1s, run left or right for big rock sling and dodge exactly left or right (whatever direction you're running) when they're about to hit. Getting the special blocks isn't very important, go for some kind of defense tear here if you're iffy on that. It is important to keep the shield standard to keep its gaurd up.
This no longer works after patch. They ruined dueling shields.

I finally killed him! Damage negation+max health physick tears, boiled crab, lords divine protection incant, tree sentinel chest for holy resist, mushroom crown for damage around rot, scarlet aeonia for rot, black blade incant for initial massive hit to hp.
Dragoncrest greatshield talisman, golden braid, pealdrake +2, old lord's talisman, Siluria's tree spear and Clawmark Seal +25. Oh, and a lot of farming mats to make holyproof dried livers for phase 2
EDIT: Oh and scadutree level 16, i really didnt want to hunt for more fragments

This is one of those bosses where for me I didn’t care how many times I died cuz I was having a blast. It invoked a feeling where every time I died, I didn’t go “damn what bullshit” Instead I’m constantly in the zone!
I also learned that he can be parried and when I found that out I giggled and currently still having a blast.

My first playthrough of dark souls 3 I were a strength build. My second as a mage. I’ve been a mage ever since. I’m a mage in Elden Ring. I find the game easier and a lot more fun that way. I got tired of the dodging and rolling that you do with swords. I find the dlc is meant for magic builds and potions since there are a ton of cookbooks in the dlc.i think they might be trying to push more people towards a magic build since the majority do strength and dex builds.
This hard boss hard. Finally I use thorn cheese build. Survive casting it all work for me.

I just beat Radahn...oh. what a relief. Here is what worked for me(level 238)-- . I just beat Radahn using my standard DLC Boss build.(great all-around build for mobs and all/can be switched with BB or Sacred Relic sword easily with a few tweaks) I used the 1 NPC, Mimic +10, Blasphemous Blade+10, Erdtree Seal +10, shard of alexander, talisman of the dread(buffs BB!), Pearldrake tal +3, Dragonquest greatshield talisman, flame grant me strength, golden vow and a pickled turtle neck. When he uses that golden wave attack, run a way and then jump when you hear the sound. Flask is opaline bubble tear and flame-shr cracked tear. 60 vigor, 80 faith, mind, end, str and dex at 40. Level 238(now 239 after) It took me about 5 attempts today. (Died around 100 times total with 3 different builds) Good luck!

Phase 2 is so random… he’s more hyper aggressive and I don’t even have a chance. I think RNG on what he does on his second phase was kind to you on this video…
Shield poke with antspur rapier and fingerprint shield (talusmans - dragoncrest great shield, great shield, two headed turtle, pearl shield). Bleed and scarlet rot on rapier. Just watch out for his grab and meteor strike. Enjoy your victory.
I just beat him today after the update, I wish I had this option because I most definitely would’ve used it. I hated fighting him and I don’t think I will ever fight him again.
To each is own. Took me over 2 hours using backhand blade bleed dex strength build. No summons. Absolutely brutal.
For to further buffs to this build, wear the madding hand in your offhand for 10+ and the black puffball helm.
Just got the b*stard using this method! Took a few attempts to get the timings down, but got him in just 3 hits! Amazing damage output! Had real fun putting this build together. Thank you good person 🙏🏻

This isn't cheese, this is legitimate. Cheese means playing the game in a way that it wasn't meant to be played. High damage buffs and OP weapons is what Elden Ring is all about. Enjoy and relish in your win. I have not made it to Radahn yet, I'm being slow and want to get all the Scadutree Fragments before I tackle him, but I beat Bayle The Dread in the same way, and Bayle was a tough boss, apparently I saw him on one list he made it to #2 of the hardest bosses. He hits like Darkseid but thankfully I got him. I'll see how bad Radahn is soon enough, he definitely looks the worst.

THANK YOU I failed on this lame, unfun boss for hours and tried like 5 other "broken" builds and nothing worked but this did! Just destroyed him in literally 40 seconds on my second try.
For me, Souls games have so much bullshit and jank that using broken builds to fight broken bosses is not only okay it's downright karmic justice.
He's not a broken boss. He's just poorly designed like most of Miyazaki's games entirely.
I made it through the whole DLC without much problem rockin the great katana with some ranged incants. Then Radahn, I respec'd for him lvl 200 and went 99 endurance, 60 vig, 25 faith, and rest into strength and dex. I pulled out the old reliable shield turtle poke bleed build. Moore's armor, fingerprint shield, Naginata (one of my fav weapons) with rot grease for 1st phase and blood flame for 2nd. It got the job done on 3rd try after getting my ass kicked for hours.
Right now i use the same Parfume build buuuuut i think i bugged the Boss... Radan won´t get any DMG from me even if i hit the ground below him (25 trys still no dmg😅)
Let me preface. I've beaten every souls game multiple times. I hundred-percented Sekiro back in January. This is the first time I have genuinely believed a fight was difficult to the point of not being enjoyable. I've been pushed to the point of anger in many bosses before, who hasn't right? But I was always making progress toward victory, and that made the grind fun. Not this time however. I've switched builds 3; Dex/Int, Strength/Faith, Dex/Bleed all with fully upgraded weapons and I'm barely laying a finger on him. Closest I've gotten to beating him was perfect dodging and hitting him with a glintstone pebble, but as soon as he caught me it was over. He outright never stops attacking and I don't have time to make more than a single light attack (that I trade with) before I have to run again. If it keeps up like this I'll welcome the cheese.

@@Craggle25 I am doing that and it shows only 16k+ damage only and with one hit I can't get him to the second phase as in the video .. I don't know what's wrong now .. I have to attack and dodge again to take to the 2nd phase
@@gaminglord2138 maybe take a look at your stats, it needs more investment in faith potentially. I also ground out the black head thingy from the original video as I wanted to ensure I could smash his face in.

I cheesed Radahn that way as well! After multiple attempts, I finally got him by being aggressive.
I think you forgot about the uplifting aromatic perfume consumable that made all the difference for me
Yeah I have some but not a lot so I didn't use them much
I actually did the same. On my first playthru, I him solo with Level 14 Skibidi tree. The build I used is Black Steel shield (magic imbue) + Antspur Rapier (poison mist + Bleed imbue). Originally my build was guts sword + lion's claw, but I did like 50-60 tries before I respec'd to the build above.
2nd playthru I used the same build but only with Flame grant me strength + Golden vow. I didn't specc'd into Raksasha and Madness stacking. Was able to defeat him in 5 tries lmao.
It works, but I had to keep it simple. Do not summon NPCs, do not use mimic tear. Aim completely down at the feet. Phase 2 run to him, again DOWN at the feet, do not lock on. Finally it took a little bit of luck in the try, but two full hits were enough. Attack only with the ash of war.
I did the fingerprint shield and mohg spear strat but damn that perfume damage is crazy

After so many failed attempts at the final DLC boss, hours spent trying different setups, even the perfume bottles weren't working for me! I searched for an easy start and found the Chicken Nugget Bleed Bonk (that's what I'm calling it, lol). Worked like a charm!

She doesn't mention that to get these damage numbers you need to look straight down at the ground so that the effects go off immediately. Otherwise the damage is more random and may not hit like this.

u probably need to lvl up ur stats... maybeur faith is a bit low?
@@sunnysidee13 well possibly, but my lvl is 321 and all stats but arcane are 50s or higher. The video shows the player's faith at 50, not sure what I'm doing differently.

Nothing to be ashamed of. Some people "git gud" by learning boss moves, others by knowing how to mix/match items/spells/etc. to maximize damage/defense. They're both a form of mastery of the game, since they reflect a lot of knowledge about the game. Different fields of knowledge, but still they're not opening a console and typing a cheat code OR installing a mod giving yourself god mode. Those are the only things I'd consider unfair. But whatever's in the game is fair game from my point of view.
This is some Asmon level of cheesing. My Brass Shield and Serpent Hunter carried me all the way and I thought that build was a bit too easy. At least for everything except this fight, it took me 10 hours of gitin gud but I still prefer that over 4-shotting him like this. That's just like giving up.

I've seen "Let me solo her" stream and he struggled with armor so I knew us mere mortals would find it almost impossible to have the stamina with lightning fast reflexes to slowly grind the boss down to death. I also like to find exploits in games. I remember in Baldur's Gate 3 there was a vampire boss where I simply cast Daylight and he would get damage over time during the conversation which did not trigger combat so I stood there until he died.

FINALLLYYYY THIS BUILD DID IT FINALLLYYY
I ended up having to change my from my usual armor set and used the meteoric ore greatsword ash of war and with golden vow and howl. I had thrown myself at the boss for several hours and got close once but needed the defense that my usual gear didn't give. So I just changed up a bit and in two tries I beat him. Lucky as hell win but a win is a win.

If it wasn't for his phase 2, I would honestly probably *like* this boss. Parrying his phase 1 has been a lot of fun, even though it's excruciatingly difficult. All this phase 1 moves are basically reasonable.
Phase 2 is a series of strobe lights that kill you and I hate it.

100% agree with everything you said. I’ve never used a mage style build in any souls game but after 3 respecs went with the thorn sorcery build and finally beat him yesterday. Was it a valiant win? No. Did he deserve my respect? No.
Honestly, a lot of the bosses in this DLC were just lazily made "hard" by making them spammy and hyper aggressive. But they're very one dimensional.
I used the FP shield and Anspur build to beat Radahn. Then, on my other character who was further back in the DLC, I decided what the heck, let's try that with others. Well, it smokes every boss. I changed the weapon out sometimes depending on the boss but it was always a thrusting type.
So, I thought let's see how this does with the main game bosses I have left to do with this play through.... Not so good. Fire Giant, Maliketh, Marika, and Elden Beast were tough. Beatable, but tough (Melenia not so much. This build actually tanks waterfowl dance). And I've beat them all many times. Astel (Snowfields), forget it... Hard to hit with that set up. But DLC Radahn I beat 2nd try with that build.... Twice.
Point is, these DLC bosses are cheap and spammy. Turn yourself into a tank, and they're nothing but flash. A real disappointment.
I used a classic from the base game. Marius executioner great sword. The trick was getting the window to get it off. I didn't go all that hard into buffs, but if Icould get a full charge off I could phase him in 1 go.
I did the shield and pokey strat and one shot him. went in with cold Ant Spur applying frost and rot. melted him in less than 2 minutes
The DLC seemed to encourage massive weapon cheese strats. Dex builds felt like playing an optional mode, there was so much poise. Milady and wing stance heavy carried me, until Radahn.
I think there was a bug for me. Ever when I used golden vow and the madness skill, I couldnt do any damage on radahn with the ash of war. since I tried to not use the vow, the whole buold worked fine and I also just needed 3 hits.
Dumpling head will stack even more damage with madness..
