Go for it! I started my first extreme (and savage in general) in 6.4 with Golbez and it was pretty fun (static and PF). In my opinion, extreme isn't as bad as I thought it would be
re: 21:00, the longest pull I had yesterday was 10m53s and even that didn't see enrage, it's a looooooong enrage timer. We didn't hit the 25% phase push until around 8m10s that pull, so assuming they have separate enrage timers the p1-p3 enrage timer is over 8 minutes and the p4 enrage timer is at least 2m43s from the phase push
also whew this fight on Black Mage is a ton of fun but also a *lot* of work. Pretty much every 2m window has heavy forced movement so LL uptime is a mess no matter what you do
Black hole person can also literally just stay with the party, dropping it right against the north corner, with party a little south of them. Safe spot has enough space, and there's plenty of time to get away from the black hole expanding, and keep melee uptime the whole mechanic.
This is what my PF did, I think it's a bit riskier because if they're a bit late it leaves no room for melees but yeah you can just drop it in the very corner with the party

you don't risk anything, they get one if not 2 vulns and there is multiple options to keep them save such as rescue and tank mits. stupid easy@@OrionXIXI
yea @1:10 Macrocosmos DOES work. it just wont get you back to 100% by itself. Been farming this as AST the entire time and Macrocosmos always healed us back to 55% ish by itself.
@@hara_shinigami Just a misunderstanding of what Macrocosmos does. It stores *HALF* the damage and heals for 200 potency + stored, so it should be a little over half your HP healed instantly. About 65k for tanks and about 48k for melees. You have ~23 seconds between the start of the encounter and Nox's hit, so if Astro lays down Combust + 2 Malefics and then places Star it should explode right after the Abyssal Nox on its own. Possibly even just your usual Combust and Malefic then earthly star
This is a pretty good one, though curious what was the solve if both players in the same corner got Nox? Was there a priority for one go to counter clockwise?

For the blackhole bait the person can in fact Bait it W/E on the line without killing the party. Maybe save sprint if you have the marker otherwise you will die to it.
they melee gets semi increased uptime (barely, its like 2 seconds of uptime) but then casters cant get their uptime cuz they ahve to move so its an overall net dps loss. Granted none of this matters cuz the boss is a joke and super easy with a lenient enrage
at the very least, the two healers should go to the south safe spot for the bonds of darkness visceral whirl since they already go south for bonds of darkness, dont come north with rest of the party and then we all scramble to spread

Might be uncommon, but it is possible for both players in the same corner to get Nox, at which point you should determine who goes north/south and who goes east/west.
You don't need to spread the noxes though, they don't blow up or anything if they hit eachother as far as Im aware? Someone only dies if they're slow moving in the same direction as the other guy.
Just completed this extreme raid this morning. The phrase 3 flares you showed was helpful to get through without running like a headless chicken! Question though: is it necessary to use LB before enrage/phase 4?
The meteors…Everytime I think I’m good I either get to close or I’m waiting my turn in someone else’s line and I die. I do know you have to die before the phase so a meteor won’t appear. I got as far as 4% before enrage….i have done the fight so many times I know almost all the mechanics prior to 20% hp
Ironicly the problem I run into party now is they can't get past his Enrage when he has between 5-15% HP left. Besides that the fights pretty bread and butter
These Void Meteor and Black Hole strats are not great. The left paint diagram show one person on the right way too close to a comet and ignoring a very easy way to get further away, the two on the left are not positioned correctly to let the second set survive. There's at least two proximity kills on that diagram. The black hole strat is awful too, it's simple to just drop it in the corner of the northern safe spot and everybody runs away alongside the laser
I've done these pattern these exact ways and every time it works perfectly fine. And that Black Hole strat has MURDERED so many PF groups cause people pay literally no attention to the Black Hole in the corner lol

Because the only pattern on your diagrams that your video shows resolve successfully is the right hand one, but you've got plenty of clips of mishaps going on whenever the left hand pattern shows up (and that's not even all of the patterns that can appear; I've got my own footage to show if necassary)

Worth mentioning that the players Void Meteor targets *isn't* random. It's always either supports first, or DPS first. You can use this to your advantage to preposition better.
@@Pyro_Salamander Someone in your party was either dead, or raising too late to get the appropriate buff. 1st set must pick 4 people assuming you have 4 people alive, so if a role is missing a member it will take from the opposite role. The 2nd set will pick whoever is remaining or hasn't been assigned.
I swear to god some people in Zeromus EX farm parties are just straight up griefing with meteor and forked lightning memes, fuck meteors in particular for being an instawipe
Void meteor is such a bad design, unless all party member learn all the patterns. Which PF doesn't care. It feels like you will be randomly getting pass the mech and clear or restart.
Sounds like skill issue to me. How is it literally any different from any of the plethora of mechanics that are hard mechanic-> body check? Also, as mentioned you can even cheese it by having your worst player die and not even get a mark.

I killed the boss 12 times now. people still don't get the pattern properly and the Cheese you mention, it is the norm, not cheese if you cannot strech it just don't let it be red. Sometime you die sometime others. it randomly sac people.that's exactly the bad design part.

Honestly sounds like some really unfortunate luck, I put up a party as I started watching this and was filled by the start of the phase 4 explanation, and this is on OCE, the dead data center, said group also cleared in a single lockout, fun fight
i ended up getting asked by some rando, and we ended up doing it in 5 attempts, i only died 1 time out of those 5 runs xD the fight was REALLY well made and really really fun to do, it wasnt annoying or anything. Golbes was cool AF too but that last Gale was so annoying lol.@@kurosakikun96

Directly in the middle of the room is completely safe for Void Meteor. You take very little damage, almost less than in the corner sometimes.
Seconding this. I even used Reprisal as a just-in-case and even then I doubt it was needed

The extremes are pretty easy once you learn the "dance" with each one. FF14 mechanics have become pretty predictable.
Dropping black hole in the corner next to the party is the best strat. Seen so many people panic sprint to get away and wipe the party

Flare prog? Meteors. Black hole prog? Meteors. Post meteor cleanup? Meteors. It's all just meteors. Every single party finder is just meteors.
We found moving Nox clockwise was a reliable way to resolve baiting without having to think about where other nox aoes are

I would absolutely like to see more fights with reliable Rescue strats. I almost never use that button and would like to do so.
I miss p12s rescue strats, kinda unnecessary with some specific positioning but was fun to do in the early days

Black hole can be baiter max melee close to wall where zerous' facing, so if it's a melee, they could get uptime

I can already say that is wrong as when first progging this with some friends MT got tethered to the first drop and OT got tethered to second drop.

I'm....REALLY disappointed by the damage coming out of this fight. This is kind of weak.
This feels like how normal trials were back in the day. Too easy.
