That feeling you get training on the track never goes away, at least for me. I have been running and racing for over 50 years and I still go to the track to train. Just this past weekend I did 5 * 1K, all around 4:01, not as fast as you but not bad for a 67 year old
i think the oversized boyfriend tee + shorts is a killer track outfit! this is making me want to do some track workouts. wish i had a friend to do them with bc it's usually just me!
So happy to have found your Vlogs. I totally hear you on the anxiety of track works leading to injury and loving being at the track so much that it makes you want to cry just thinking about the joy of it. I like being at the track all by myself actually. But that could be just because I like to pretend I'm super fast which is easier to do when no one is passing me.
Looks like a great workout. One that is even harder when you're just running against yourself and the clock and your heart rate. Good to see you regaining your speed and conditioning. Wishing you the best as you continue to "build back better." ;-)
Awesome. Continue improving on the tempo pace and one day you will see the results on how much you improved in 1k, and in no time you will be the sensei of the 1k one day.
I always love your videos and it's so great to see you back running that is awesome and I am so happy for you! I honestly wish that i could still run because I miss it more than anything but i'm trying to just focus on what I can do like cross fit!! Keep being amazing and I look forward to watching more of your videos!
Allie you have to understand we would love for your content to be 10 to 15 minutes long and we love hearing your voice it’s awesome for what you’ve learned with being around coaches in your own training what you feel what you’re doing for the college kids that you’re taking care of yourself right now interested in your next step with a new coach whenever that happens you are going to soar when it’s time for you to soar love ya
Awesome workout slayyyy!!!!!! It’s literally so nice seeing my fav back out there on the track vv exciting Also are you going to start doing steeple training eventually like hurdle mechanics ect !
Hey Allie! Big fan of you and Spence. I just ran a timetrial on a track for the first time this weekend, and it was so much fun! Do you recommend track workouts for runners focusing on longer distances i.e. 10k, half and marathon or is it really more good when focusing on shorter distances?
I think the track is a useful training tool for longer distance races too! You’ll probably want to focus on longer reps and shorter rest, but no reason to avoid the track! It’s fun!
Focusing on feel over pace, varying the length of my tempo reps, utilizing active recovery, adding more speedwork to my training, and making sure to be consistent 👏

That’s a great workout! Nothing quite like a solid track session 🙌
Wow, great work!

Felt this.
Ask a friend to just come and watch/hang out! It’s still better than being alone 🤗
So thankful your back, last couple of videos have been awesome to watch. Keep moving forward :)
Thank you!! Glad you enjoyed 🤗🤗
Been following you for a long time--and especially encouraged for you now.
Your patience is being rewarded...embrace the process and be mindful of impatience...your joy is contagious.
You’re absolutely right, Allie, ‘it is the best’!!

Allie O is one tough cookie. Her race effort speaks for itself.

Okay! Maybe next time I will ramble a little extra 🤔

With my hip still being vulnerable to injury, I probably won’t be hurdling, but I do mobility still!
I saw you in the background is Spencer’s last video and hoped you were going to post the session too😃
Yes, I’m glad I came through for you!
Thanks Allie keep the ‘em coming you’re so inspirational for us mere mortals!
Random question, but how to you prevent the infamous sock tan line from wearing tall socks? Just curious lol
As a former track athlete, I totally get the feeling of being there. Just something about it ;) ;)
Awesome!

When I grow up I want to be like you allie
Apologies if you’ve already answered this, but are you planning on running any upcoming meets? Great to see you back in action!
I don’t have any meets on the schedule at this point!
"Speed Kills!"
Now we want to see the hill workout!!! 😀
I will make a video about hills soon!
So how are you improving your tempo pace?
Focusing on feel over pace, varying the length of my tempo reps, utilizing active recovery, adding more speedwork to my training, and making sure to be consistent 👏
Even though you’re no longer with Brooks Beasts- do you still see Karissa or Marta?
Yes!!
@@allie_ostrander I miss your training interactions with them😞
Ok, I know you've said it's wrong, but I'm still convinced your goal for this year has something to do with bathrooms at the places where you run 😂
Lol it should honestly
🥳😁
You are always running with a left turn remember that so if not racing and no one at track. One lap left one lap right
Nice form 👍🏽. This would not be a “tempo” workout for me :))).
Make a salad! I like salads
