I just ordered this and I’m wondering if the product is good or all type? Does it stay lit easily? Ventilation is good? And does it actually stay cool? I want to cook on a fishing boat but I don’t want to ruin anything:) I appreciate your help!
So far, I like mine. I placed a heavy duty foil on the bottom to hold the charcoal which makes cleaning a whole lot easier. Ventilation is not too bad I used small handheld fan to flare up the charcoal and when I close the lid, this unit can hold temp very well for smoking purpose. I use temp probe to keep my meat from over/under cook. "If you are looking, you ain't cooking" lol As far as the out side surface temp, it gets hot when you do smoke. But I don't think it will melt things. I always use wood piece or metal rack under neath (just in case) anyways. So, my final thought is.. this is what I'm going to keep for how it looks and what it can do for my need.
