There's more rocks than just rocks and gems. There's porous igneous rocks, slate, marble, sandstone. Gems are a start, but we can go beyond, PLUS ULTRA!

Its very impressive how you guys can make these designs on the spot. If you want to make a rock pokemon without it being a rock, try making them more Prehistoric looking. If you look at the fossil pokemon, all of them besides the gen 8 fossils are rock type and none of them have a single rock on them.
Mollusk shells are made of calcium carbonate which is a rock, so Omanyte and Omastar have big rocks on them, _mega_ Aerodactyl obviously, Amaura and Aurorus have Ice crystals on them and ice is technically a rock, so there's a handful, just in creative ways.
It's okay for Ross to forget there are other kinds of rocks. Commenter was probably just suffering PTSD because Game Freak forgot there were other kinds of rocks a couple of Generations ago.
I mean, no? Hell, we got the Nacli line in this generation, which not only has crystals (in the form of salt), but also is clearly a sedimentary rock, overall. The Rolycoly line are made of coal, a metamorphic rock, and Stonjourner is made of both sedimentary and igneous rocks.

I think it would be funny if someone chose normal type and just drew the Pokémon as a regular animal but with the color pattern designs of the Pokémon. Almost like how Giwi did her Pachirisu.
Fun fact clodsire is based off of the Iberian ribbed newt, a species of newt endemic to Iberia and Spain. It has a very special and unique defense mechanism where it sticks its own ribs through its skin so that when a predator tries to eat it they get a mouth full of pointy ribs, hence why clodsire also does the same when it attacks!!!!

I’ve thought of lore for “Jailgar.” Yes that’s what I’m calling him. Stow-on-Side, home of the ghost type gym leader in Galar, used to have a prison that used a gigantimaxed Jailgar as the building. Because the walls were made out of its “flesh,” most escape attempts were easily thwarted. This made Stow-on-Side Penitentiary the most secure facility in the world, akin to Alcatraz. There have only been 3 near successful breakout attempts on record, two of which needed Jailgar to intervene. It would later be abandoned, but the Jailgar, not having used the last of its dynamax energy, remains as a tourist attraction of sorts. This Jailgar is currently the longest lasting Gigantimax in history.
I kind of want a fairy type Puchirisu form in the future just to remind everyone of that time one stood alongside dragons in the championship, And *WON!* I'll always remember that whenever I see a Puchi. Like, Yeah, You keep doing what you're doing you adorable little champion.
I recently found out that Ross has aphantasia. I also have aphantasia, and it’s made me honestly really nervous to continue doing artwork, but seeing how successful Ross is, even without being able to picture things, is making me feel a lot better about my potential ☺️

I hate to be a person like this, and really there’s nothing anyone can do about it, but Rose’s voice makes me have to adjust my volume so often. Some people can’t help it, but it sounds so deliberate and it’s just kind of giving second hand embarrassment with how loud it is.

My favourites are Campfire Bulbasaur, Smog Altaria, Ice Altaria, Rock Altaria, Snowman Scrafty, Chainsaw Pachirisu, Bloodkip, Skewer Wooper, Pumpkin Pie Appletun, and Beer Cooler Appletun. I couldn't narrow it down more than that.
I had drawn a bunch of half type-shifted Pokémon (meaning for something like bulbasaur it would keep it’s grass type but also be something else so it would be grass-water or grass-rock or grass-flying) for my own custom region so seeing this was really cool. Love the work guys!
Hey Ross, I know it adds additional work but can you put in the next videos reference pictures? I started and ended my history with pokemons with gen 1 and I don't know most of the newer ones and I believe there are many others who don't know how the original pokemon looks just from it's name. Actually, tyrunt, cranidos, and aerodactyl all make sense to be rock types.
