I’m an elderly woman now and I cry for the young American women of today. The republicans are boiling a frog, slowly but surely women are losing their rights. Imagine where this might end.
There was an audio of a phone conference that was leaked. It was shared by ErinInTheMorning. They laid out the plan to strip healthcare of all children and all women. They specifically said "If we attack their rights too quickly, they will fight back. We must take little bites at a time so they won't notice. I have a list of rights we should strip away in order. We can talk about it off the phone". If you think the right to healthcare is the only right they're taking away, that's a mistake. They've already been attacking the education system with book bans and such. They're already attacking every effort to make schools safer. They want to literally end the lives of everyone else. This isn't about oppression. This is about extinction. Ours or theirs.

Exactly. Government or judiciaries have no right to restrict EITHER. Choice means just that. No one was forced to have an abortion (abortion rates have gone dramatically down). What is important here is choice over body without outside influences and consult with a licensed doctor. Otherwise, access to contraception and birth control pills is a right more recent and only since Griswold v Connecticut (1965). Access to contraception was only identified in the holding of Griswold a right (to privacy) for married couples. It didn't address unmarried couples. But then, that might be extreme, too. Marriage is the state getting involved (asking for permission to be together). Oh, well. Some folks are content when "big" government appears to take their side. The corruption at the SCOTUS renders any decision questionable and maybe non-enforceable.
Then why have a government? If the government isn’t allowed to protect life, I see zero purpose of a government.

i grew up christian and in a christian school, so when I was little and only listened to what my teachers said I was just like the rest. Strange enough, it was the movie dirty dancing that make me realize how important having abortions be an option were. The part about how the protagonist's sister almost died from an underground abortion really struck me. I even went to ask my mom who is a doctor about it, and thats when I learned that my family didn't share the same beliefs as my teachers, because with having a few doctors in the family they all understood what the alternative is. If people don't have access to abortion, they will just do it at home, and will die from it. More lives are lost when its illegal then when it is legal. Period.

I think some people believe we use these terms as hyperbole. But we aren't. The conservatives in the Senate are already working to repeal the 22nd amendment that limits presidential terms. Think hard about the leadership of Trump, and the leadership of his best friend Kim Jong Un. Think about the kind of country North Korea is and how the citizens live. When I say "This could be the last election this country ever has", I mean it as literally as possible.

I saw that one woman on the news say she went into the ER because she was miscarrying a pregnancy she wanted. They said they could not do anything and told her to go home and pray. Can one fathom the pain she had to be feeling both physically and emotionally? What has this country come to?

Edit: I have an anti-abortion friend and I said women are dying and getting sick because they are forced to hold their expired fetus in them for days. She flat out said "no" so I ended the conversation.

@@Ishi_hagane01 thing is they think a ton of healthy babies are being aborted bc its birth control or inconveniences when most are of wanted pregnancies and complications happened or the fetus isn't viable/already died. you have a lot of moms esp poc that are dying from preventable conditions.. they don't die of preeclampsia but are getting full blown eclampsia= too late which they only way to fix preeclampsia is to give birth.

yup I would love to adopt and we did try. CAS and foster care systems are so broken.. not just in the usa but canada and the uk min. they think its saving babies but it'll end up like Romanian ... babies that are 100% perfectly healthy will be so neglected you wouldn't be able to tell them from the unhealthy ones as docus on that show.
