I know this is a bit outdated but there are now 2 full episodes from season 5. Enemy of the World and Tomb of the Cybermen.
since this video has been made, episodes to the Enemy of the World have been found, now making it a complete story, along with all but episode three of The Web of Fear. both are available on itunes.

The War Games, in my opinion, is one of the best stories of the classic Doctor Who
The Troughton years, though incomplete, are my favorites. The best serial? I love "Tomb of the Cybermen" to death (get it? Tomb? Death?), but "War Games" was INCREDIBLE. Thanks for this series of reviews.

We'll be doing one episode the first week of every month for the whole year, eventually covering ALL of the Doctors. Yes, we've been Who fans for quite some time :)
My favorite Second Doctor story is "Enemy of the World", which was found after this video was originally released. It features Patrick Troughton in two roles - the Doctor and the mysterious Salamander - both of which his shines in. My second choice would be "The Tomb of the Cybermen".
What no The Mind Robber? One of the best of *all* Dr. Who, not just (surviving) Troughton.
1) Just "The Invasion," if I remember correctly, though First Doctor serial "The Reign of Terror" is apparently next on the slate.
2) We're phasing out the Avoid section of episodes, plus Shyamalan's movie was about the Last Airbender series, not Korra, so it's not exactly applicable.
It's the 50th anniversary and both of us love Doctor Who. This was basically destiny.
If you're not a Whovian, there are at least three other weeks per month with fresh GCC content to enjoy!
We needed to prioritize parts of the Who canon into the eras in which they were/are most relevant. As a part of that process, the Second Doctor episode focused more on regeneration (being the first one of them and all). The Third Doctor era, as explained in that GCC, saw a much-expanded use of the screwdriver into the cure-all tool we know today.
Its sad, but most people can only judge the Trougton era on the handful of complete stories, and miscellaneous episodes from others that exist today. For those of us who watched the Troughton era in the 60's, i can tell you there are other excellent stories that i hope get found one day........."Fury from the Deep" being one of them.......now that was a creepy story.
We've been doing that for 100 episodes. It's our thing.
My favourite second doctor story is the invasion. So epic

What I have seen from the 2nd Doctor I have enjoyed a lot. My favorite story is "The War Games". A great and sad ending to the 2nd Doctor's era. Someone mentioned the Mind Robber..I agree..loved that story. It's shame this era is nearly lost.
My favorite Troughton story is The Invasion and it is missing the first and fourth episodes out of a total eight episodes. The now defunct animation studio, Cosgrove Hall did the animated reconstructions of the episodes with fan recorded audio and they are quite good. The story is similar to the David Tennant 2 part story, "Rise of the Cybermen/The Age of Steel" I've heard that an animated reconstruction of the missing episodes of "The Ice Warriors" is also coming soon on DVD.

I Love "The Mind Robber" and "The War Games" although the end of the latter breaks my heart when PT waves at Jamie and Zoe in an almost childlike way, kinda like he's saying "Playtime's over". That makes me so sad, because Patrick Troughton is my favorite Doctor and I don't want playtime to be over. . .

When I was a little kid that was definitely my favorite episode save a few of the Tom Baker episodes
Some of my fav episodes from the Second Doctor are Tomb of the Cybermen and War Games. My other favorite is The Mind Robber.
A bit to add on to about Season's 4-5 of the Classic Series, Tomb of the Cybermen isn't the only complete one anymore. Later in 2013, they released "Enemy of the World" and "The Web of Fear" onto DVD for the 50th Anniversary. Look them up. You can find all three episodes on Hulu.
I loved The Invasion and The Mind Robber, very cool stuff.
The Mind Robber, I love the trippy, psychedelic feel of the story, very 60's.

GCC isn't a show for the hardcore. GCC is a show for beginners. As a resource for those who haven't seen the classic show, or who refer to David Tennant as the Second Doctor (these people exist, I've met and corrected them), I think we did a reasonable job. Did you know that the Invasion story had 8 episodes with episodes 1 & 4 missing with animation reconstructions for DVD release?
A reference to The War Games is in the 11th Doctor Story, "The Doctor's Wife". Those little Cubes that Matt SMith is so bent out of shape over are the same cubes that Doctor 2 uses here in Episode 9 to get a message to the Time Lords.
Also, The Two Doctors was supposed to be Doc1, but unfortunately, Richard Hurndall had died by the time the story went into production.
The Two Doctors couldn't have thought up with Doc 1 because Hurndall died straight after The Five Doctors.
Robert Holmes wrote it specifically with Troughton in mind.
Shrug. It's what I read in interviews at the time.
Joe Siegler The writer himself has insinuated that it was his intent to portray Troughton as being under the control of the Time Lords.

The Wheel of Ice has definitely fit as my favorite Second Doctor Episodes. But that may be cause my imagination was allowed to run wild with it.
"Tomb of the Cybermen" is a fave of mine. Really creepy and atmospheric for it's time and holds up pretty well. :)
I like the power of the daleks even if it's missing
It's animated photos in colour but the best representation you'll find of the first bits. Type in 'Power of the Daleks in colour'.
Favorite 2nd Doctor adventure?
Hard to choose actually but if i could Choose 1 it would have to be "Evil of the Daleks"
Even though most of the story no longer exists in film form (except episode 2) from what i have listened to in audio form it's one the best stories from the 2nd Doctor era.

If you use the Loose Cannon reconstructions and watch the remaining eps from Lost in Time dvd you can get a fair expereince of some of the missing stories. Watched the Wheel in Space this way the other day and even though it is not fondly remembered, it was pretty fun. War Games is still a fave, though as the majority of the acting, the weirdness and the sheer watchability for 10 whole bloomin eps is amazing. A weird but wonderful story.
I find the idea that we're not doing our research here to be a bit offensive, honestly. If we were doing an hour-long version of the show, we'd cover a greater range of stories and factors of the Second Doctor era.
In choosing the material to cover, regeneration seemed to be the larger factor. The Sonic Screwdriver will have more prominence in our Third Doctor episode as the Sonic Screwdriver came to prominence in the Third Doctor era.

What've always felt they should do is. Take todays actors (British of course), remake the missing adventures in the same B&W style, but use today's technology.

The Tomb of the Cybermen is slightly overrated, but classic. The Mind Robber and the Web of Fear are also a couple favorites of mine. I've been meaning to listen to more of the off air recordings of his episodes.

The Evil of the Daleks, yes its missing, but listening to the audio and watching the reconstructions, if this was the last Dalek story, it definitely would have ended on a high note!
As discussed in other comments, "The Mind Robber" might be a bit overly surreal for beginners, hence our hesitance to recommend it.

Pretty awesome :) I've only seen one Second Doctor story, and that was Tomb of the Cybermen when it came on BBC America.. It was really good. I loved Jamie and the Second Doctor was amazing.

We try to tie in classic Who to modern Who because many of our viewers are already familiar with the new series, this is a great way to give them a kick start in the old series.
We do a fair amount of research on a fair amount of topics, apologies if we miss something once in a while. But our dedicated fans are always there to help us out!
