You're absolutely right. I love her so much but it seems like she's afraid to hit some notes. Too many times,now,her throat closes.
every singer are changing because of aging, that's their voice was change
+Clyde Clyde Actually vocal changes caused by age are results of bad technique (there are a lot of singers whose voices didn't change at that age), her voice hasn't changed that much, but she probably finds it harder to reach some notes (because of age, but that's not vocal change), she should just take some time to rest and improve her technique and she would be as awesome as she used to be (in terms of technical singing), 'cause she still can slay. I think she should try to get rid of these awful nodules, her whistles have lost some of their quality, but she could relearn them, just take time and find the right vocal coach.

In my opinion, this was her best performance surpassing all of her performances in 1997-2000. Even though her belt wasn't that high here, her singing was very comfortable and her tone was really gorgeous here
She was almost 100% rested here after what the horrendous rainbow era did to her voice
That's why her whistle was really strong here, when her nodules are bigger she can whistle easier and harder to belt, vice versa

Soul is objective in a sense but not completely. Mariah has proven to have soul with her ability to convey emotions regardless of whether she sings exactly like the record or hits every single note perfectly. In this version for instance she significantly lowered the key of hero but still managed to touch our spirits

The tone is a preference but overall Daydream is superior vocally
