There’s a deepness that Jim had in his voice that seems no other singer can emulate. You can be a great singer vocally but that deepness comes with the soul.
I agree. Morrison is my favorite vocalist. Ian Astbury, Payne Staley, Eddie Vedder have all sat in with the remaining Doors members, and it's good and respectable, but falls short.
C'est vrai, mais pour les avoir vu à l'Olympia Paris,je peux dire que Ray et Robbie étaient heureux de ne pas avoir une épave comme chanteur !et quel charisme
I saw this show and as the biggest Doors fan ever, I loved every minute! Loved the mystique of Ian's performance. No one can sing as deep and soulful and Jim, but this came damn close!
I drove 2hrs speeding the whole way to see Ray play in 99 but when I got to the ticket window I heard him play two big notes & say thank yooooou! Just missed it

Stop sitting on the fence Fil I wish you would stop being defensive and call it out as it is love your integrity at the end of the day when you get to 65 years old and can’t do it anymore will you do what Ken and the eagles do or do what meatloaf and jethro Tull do and carry on regardless it’s about entertaining the fans who really don’t know better and want retro entertainment
No disrespect to Ian Astbury ,he's an amazing singer but this is so wrong.Im a huge fan of The Doors and without Mr Morrison and with Mr Densmore there are no Doors. As much as I admire Ray N Robby, they shouldn't have done this because it kinda ruined the Doors legacy..I'm glad John Densmore and Morrison's estate put an end to selling out to commercials etc and letting them tour without THE DOORS name.Thank you John Densmore for saving the Doors legacy..
It was but he didn't use the lowest register of his voice I didn't make sense.. I have the same problem he's got the vibe and even in the cult had a similar thing but just didn't sound perfect for the doors... Eddie vedder and Scott weiland were better even Chris Cornell would have been better Soundgarden waiting for the sun is amazing
@@Stereostupid I saw them with Ian a few times but I just didn't get it, the first time was ok but the second time I felt he come across as a bit arrogant. out of all the people I've seen Scott weiland was definitely one I enjoyed when he did vh1 story tellers one thing im glad for they did use Perry Farrell lol
@@thiagocardoso5301 anyone would have been better than astbury he was very arrogant I didn't like him when I saw him he was taking the piss out of people in the audience and then moan people weren't dancing, for some reason the seats had been left in at the theatre they were playing at and there was lack of room to even move
The set of nuts it took to even get on stage and belt out Morrison songs is commendable. Ian killed it.
Honestly Ian is about the best replacement for Jim. I don't know how you people can say he's so bad.
Uh if they said Ian ain't.....that shows they ain't got an IQ above a brick. Plus they probably have a hundred pounds of brain damage .
Saw them in California with Ian.. AMAZING
If anyone says this is bad they either cant hear or cant hear..lol
Yes his brilliant! The best voice for the Doors 🎤🎶🎶❤️
Ian Astbury brought these lads back 30 years. Look at Manzarek here. In his element! Great performance!
Not forgetting Bobby either! Brilliant!
Seems like everytime I listen to Ian he goes up a couple notches in my best frontman of all time list.
Je suis d'accord avec ça, nous les avons vu à l'Olympia Paris.... et la performance de Ian émerveillait Robbie et Ray....il y avait une communion
These Doors cut loose with Ian singing and they LOVED it. You can tell

Closest to me is Scott Weiland, more Morisson like bad ass taste of voice.

Ian makes everything rock.
Guys a beast. Ray and Robbie sound as good as ever. They mesh well.
Holy Barbarians such a great albumn
RIP Ray, my guy
Went to see them at Manchester Apollo what a night one of the best shows I’ve ever been to!
I saw this show and as the biggest Doors fan ever, I loved every minute! Loved the mystique of Ian's performance. No one can sing as deep and soulful and Jim, but this came damn close!
I saw them at Jones Beach in NY. It was pretty good to hear those songs played live with a performer who certainly could play the part
Bradfords very own Ian Astbury !!!! Legend
Ian Ashbury for president!
I wish I was there! This is incredible! Sigh! 😢
I drove 2hrs speeding the whole way to see Ray play in 99 but when I got to the ticket window I heard him play two big notes & say thank yooooou! Just missed it
Pretty cool !
Wow !!!
Wonderful
Great job Tommy Wiseau!
I see what you did there
Ray and Robbie are locked in!
Nothing against Ian, but this makes me appreciate the richness of Jim Morrison's vocal quality even more. One of a kind and he is missed.

Ty sounds good, which is not easy under the circumstances.
Thanks Graham!

My only regret is that I wasn't there.
❤🎉❤❤❤Aw some Guys
Ohh my god the mother of piano riffs
Mmm
Ian does a fantastic job, but I've liked the CULT since their debut, so....
Anyone know where (venue) and when this was shot?
I thought he was perfect. No he's on Jim but hell no one is.
its the lawsuits that stopped these new doors from performing, so sad.
Yeah… piss on John Densmore.

Was this sucsessful financially
Always thought Michael hutchence would have been good fill in for jim.had the looks and swagger.
Ian or glen Danzig, only people could have done this
i love Ian but >Jim
Not the same without John Sebastian
I didnt realise ian could sing like jim
Yeah. NO.

you obviously didn't catch them live ,
I never liked Ian's voice singing doors songs its not deep enough

I think Mark lanegan's voice would fit better than Ian's.
