- This teardown will show how to remove the Mavic 2 Pro or Zoom Gimbal/Camera assembly. It is also noted that the two gimbals are fully interchangeable without any special calibration methods or procedures.
The tools used are: 1.5mm Hex driver, Pry tool, precision tweezers

I have to replace the mounting plat on my gimbal, I ordered a new one. Do you have a video on taking apart the gimbal so I can install a new mount? By the mount I mean the piece that keeps the gimbal in place so you can control it.

I used your video to remove the gimbal/camera, so that I could access the IMU below and behind it. I was having getting an "IMU Error" and under advanced settings menu it was showing IMU 01 Data Error.
After removing the camera I gently tapped on the IMU with the tip of my hex driver. I inserted the battery and booted up the drone but still got the error. I then turned the drone over and tapped the IMU while powered up and the Data Error cleared and the IMU warning went away.
Thanks again as this was much easier than taking apart the whole drone to get to the IMU.

I've heard that you need to do a software gimbal calibration after swapping the cameras. I have a Mavic 2 zoom that camera is tilted about 45 degrees after swapping the camera units. I've seen it happen on sparks and Mavic airs too after a camera replacement. There is a script you can run to fix the spark and Mavic air tilt issues. Do you know how to do it for the Mavic 2 drones?

so after exchanging cameras, for example, the mavic 2 pro changes the camera to mavic 2 zoom, then we use the application of mavic 2 zoom or mavic 2 pro?
Great video, the M2P has amazing quality images (much less post work required) but I will be getting the Zoom gimbal as I think it also help out with certain types of filming and survey work, the dolly Zoom looks like fun (to be fair is the main reason for me) also like the zoom idea for situations where you cant get as close to subject matter for safety reasons shame they didn't just bundle it all in one model and charge another $400 or so or better still make it user swappable similar to the Inspire
For everyone who want to try this, first of all REMOVE the battery. Never connect ribbon (flex cable ) of camera with connected battery. Btw nice work.
Very correct! You would short circuit the connection & end up smoking the ribbon cable😬😬

Do you know what size the 4 screws that hold the gimbal in place are? I've had to replace my middle chassis but my original has plastic threads but the replacement has metal thread on the chassis and the original screws don't feel like they will screw in properly. Any suggestions? Many thanks

Wrecked my zoom, and bought one of these replacements. Just put it in. I can finally control my camera. But the quality is no where near the original camera quality. Is there a setting a need to change?

exclenete video, choque mi mavic 2 pro y la camara se desajusto en uno de sus lados, funciona perfectamente pero no gira... podrias ayudarme..?
me paso lo mismo el día jueves pasado se desajusto en uno de los lados por el choque y se rompio el cristal de la camara, trate de ajustarlo pero es imposible al parecer por el choque se deformo la parte que hace mover la camara de arriba para abajo hace un esfuerzo el motor, ese es el error que me sale... lamentablemente tocara comprar otra cámara, la encontré en aliexpress en $580
@@guillejtc tuve que comprar la camara, no hubo solucion al intentar repararla, la compre en linea y la instalacion la hice yo mismo, sin problema y quedo exclente, suerte con la tuya.

I would take the battery out first. If your left had accidently turned on the battery you could cause a electrical short damage or damage the gimbal as it tries to start up.
You are very right. A lot of things to account for when making a video, but taking out the battery is definitely a priority!

It was the intention to make the mavic 2 pro have interchangeable cameras.. you would only have to buy one drone and then upgrade your camera as needed..
You would only have to spend about $350 to get different camera and carry them both with you and use the one that you needed at the time.
BUT DJ I REALIZED YOU MAKE A LOT MORE MONEY IF THEY HAVE TO SPEND 1200 TO 1500 DOLLARS ON A NEW DRONE TO GET A DIFFERENT CAMERA RATHER THAN 350!!
