I've been eyeing this as well for my theater. I see a lot of debate whether this will provide an accurate representation of Dolby Vision since it's more of a metadata hack. I'd be curious to see some comparisons of the video quality.

I am confused by your comment around 5:10 about the output displaying "just without the dynamic metadata". Isn’t the whole purpose of the HDFury to allow "dynamic" LLDV to be displayed on non DV displays?

So, does the HD Fury Vrroom override the projector's processor? I'm looking at a Sony vpl-xw6000es but is the sony X1 processor overridden by the HD Fury? Does that negate the idea of spending that kind of money on Sony's processing in the first place?

I was always looking at the fury/vertex etc but they rose their prices a lot. I just got a projector that does HDR and I haven’t messed with the fury and not sure how much work it will be. The forums have some mixed results.

Can you use an Nvidea Shield Pro to get Dolby Vision on your projector (assuming you rip your 4K UHD to a hard drive)?

Unfortunately not. You need this hardware to get Dolby Vision working on a projector.

…..am I not understanding? What does this thing actually do? If you play DV content on a display that doesn’t support, the content just reverts back to HDR10….its not like you can’t watch it. And if this thing outputs the image “without the dynamic metadata” you’re still just effectively watching HDR10 content. Unless I’m not understanding this product is completely useless.
