1) does the HDFury text at the bottom of the tv screen go away after a little bit?
2) did you have to update the HDFury firmware? My MacBook won’t bring it up when I connect them together. Is it really necessary or can I just plug and play without updating? (Waiting on my soundbar to arrive) - Sonos ARC
@@jamesgarrett6602 ad2 you need to use a usb stick. Move the bin folder to the stick and connect the stick to the Arcana. Thats it.

I have been watching many reviews of Sonas Arc and associated problems. I have retired my Bose AV18 after 12 years. It all started with the purchase of a new Samsung QLED 75" TV, excellent picture for my room size. The Sonas Arc, Gen3 sub and 2 One SL makes excellent sound very happy with system. I have a EPSON 1080p projector got the HD fury and HDR HDMI Matrix 4x2 matrix (HDMX0012M1) all works seamless have projector, blueray, chromecast, sattelite TV 4k, system supports Dolby Atoms scales 1080p to 4k all works perfect. Your advice on HD fury and Sonas devices spot on.

This is the exact set up that we are considering (Sonos Arc + Arcana + Optoma Cinemax P2). Do you have a picture of your set up? I'm trying to figure out how to place the Arc in relation to the Cinemax P2 since they'll both be sitting on the TV stand. Also, have you tried the 3D yet? How is the quality?

I was referring to eARC incompatabily with most products from Sound United which I believe should be boycotted as I will. I've been had by Denon twice. I hope others will follow.
Any receiver without eARC is not capable of supplying anything more than compressed 5.1
Firmware updates are not possible when it's a hardware issue, so don't believe any corporate bs about Atmos compatability without eARC outputs

Issue fixed. I had to replace my Hdmi switch and bought a Roofull 5 port one. All is working very now
@@jamesgarrett6602 if your tv doesn't support eARC and have more equipment that your TV Hdmi ports can handle, I suggest buying a hdmi switch

I don't need it now, since I got lossless audio from Blu-ray player, but will be something I would consider when my Blu-ray player dies.
Actually, the Arcana is needed to feed lossless audio from sources such as Blu-ray players into an AVR or soundbar with *only* an eARC HDMI output (like the Sonos Arc) without needing eARC support in your TV. If you can connect your Blu-ray player directly to your AVR or soundbar via HDMI in, you don't need the Arcana to get lossless audio. However, if you connect your Blu-ray player to your TV you need eARC on both TV & AVR/soundbar to get lossless audio; regular ARC, optical & coax are limited to lossy audio. Without eARC, lossless audio must be sent to the AVR or soundbar instead of the TV.
It is easy to turn off the on screen display in the settings. The Dolby vision is a plus as well.
This is a great video and enough for me to leave the arc off my list. As don't want to spend another 200 ontop of the arc. So my final 3 are a beam paired with two SL speakers...or the new Denon 550 but not enough reviews on that yet.....or the Klipsch 600

Great video. I recently got a Sonos arc. Got new tv earlier this year (Samsung) that doesn’t have eArc port. I’m not very tech savvy and was wondering, do I also need to have that tvpro box as well as the arcana or can I connect the arcana directly to my tv and Sonos arc?

Absolutely! CEC still works perfectly fine with this setup.

This is great. Been on the fence for a new soundbar as my last one of 7 years finally died. Been doing much reviews and came across your in-depth videos and with this device alone, I'm ok with spending the additional funds for proper sound. Just upgraded my TV in the last 2 years and don't plan on upgrading again for awhile. You definitely need to reach out to HDFURYARCANA for some sponsorship. Bought the Arcana to get Dolby Vision working with a Samsung QLED TV using a 2019 NVIDA Shield Pro. The Arcana converts Dolby Vision signals from LLDV (or is it LDV) sources into a compatible signal for use with non-Dolby compatible TVs. Refer to HDFury's website for additional details. Only issue is that the TV will not indicate a better signal than HDR. For example, Dolby Vision or HDR10+. This conversion will only work with LLDV sources and not regular DV sources. There are plenty of LLDV sources and LLDV is not limited to specific esoteric sources. In other words LLDV sources are quite common. For further info refer to the Arcana website.

Hmmmm. I'm not sure if it will or not. I can image that inputs will work fine, but I'm not sure about HDMI ARC. Difficult to say without testing it!
Samsung choked at the pass after I purchased a Q80R 75" on a promise of an eArc firmware update. Samsung's retailer lied. Samsung had no intention of updating the ARC output to eArc. I had an HD Fury Vertex on a previous LG and it worked perfectly. So, I too bit the bullet (missed the 5% JONAH discount - ouch!) and placed an order. Thanks. Your video helped.
Download the latest firmware - resolved all issues I had. Mainly sound cutting out when swapping channels
Do you just download it onto a usb stick and plug it into the unit and it auto updates?
@@Cheese-Head HDFury is great about updates. Seem to release an update for each of their products At least once a month, if not twice. They will fix any reported issues.
My optoma p1 had some dropout issues. I got the key to get hd audio(true HD and DTS MA) to my non arc receiver. Even with its minimal EDID management it solved all my dropout issues. I then started reading about the diva and once I found out you can essentially get Dolby Vision or HDR+ on an HDR10 display I was sold. Essentially it tricks the player, in my case the new Nvidia shield pro, into thinking our display can do Dolby Vision. The Diva then remaps the color tones to HDR10 in sub 1 milliseconds. You can really notice the difference. That is what that LLDV setting does. Not sure how much control you have on it with the arcana. With the diva you can inject your own HDR metadata for a better picture for both HDR and Dolby Vision. Here is how often they release updates. Go to downloads and you will see what I mean.

I recently installed a 7.2.6 Home Theater ...he had a 85 inch Samsung TV for display and the CEC (HDMI control ) was causing some major problems - such as you described - turn d off CEC and everything was working fine after that

@@ferfmedia4255 Yes it worked. I have the exact same tv and have setup Arcana exactly like how it’s setup in this video. It truly works every time. Sometimes though the sound starts a few seconds late when starting a new video. But there are no lip sync issues. Sound is awesome 😎
Thanks for your video about this product. I’m still unclear if it will work in my situation and how it increases the number or HDMI ports available. I have an Apple TV, a non-ARC/eARV tv, and a Sonos ARC. My thought is that I can plug my Apple TV into one port on the device (HDMI In) and then coming out the other end HDMI Out got to the TV and eARC goes to Sonos ARC. Is that correct?

Hey Jonah! Thanks so much for this review. I’ve recently purchased a full Sonos Arc system and I’m finding the lip sync to be a huge issue. I’ve purchased the Arcana although I’m waiting to receive it as it’s back ordered. Can you suggest a good HDMI Switch with at least 4 inputs that will allow for multiple HDMI inputs while not degrading audio quality?
FYI my set is through my LG 65’’ OLED HDR CL8 - bought in 2018. It has a single Arc HDMI out. And three other normal HDMI inputs.

It's of course backwards compatible but I believe it only has the one HDMI 2.1 qt. Honestly HDMI 2.1 is a mess right now and I'd stay away from it. Is there even display that can do the full bandwidth? I know the new consoles can't and the LG can't. 40GPPS. What's the point in specs of no one has to follow them?
I have a question, if i have an avr connected to the hdmi arc on my tv can i use the tv optical out at the same time? I am asking because i want to have the avr and the soundbar at the same time. Which avr is the best that have hdmi to connect to soundbar.
With the amount of processing that happens in the sonos arc itself are you able to tell the difference between compressed and non compressed audio?

I currently have a Sonos arc, sub and suround speakers but am only getting lossy atmos. Is the difference in lossless that noticeable? Unsure if it’s worth the extra money
You won't hear the difference. Audiophiles will claim you can but 99.9% of people just won't hear a difference unless you have a very fine tuned $20k home cinema setup. Through a sound bar even the Sonos which sounds great, you won't notice it.

Can you suggest the best way to have two alternative inputs to the Arcana. For example a Roku Streaming Stick for Netflix etc, and my normal Sky box (here in the UK). In other words which splitter could you recommend.

Great video! I've heard about the product for the past few months but I'm about to start building a home theatre room in the next few months. I'd love to keep things simple and not go crazy in this space. Would this work? - I want to use an ultra short throw projector (OPTOMA P2 CINEMAX 4K UHD) and Sonos arc system. The projector has Arc capability and I may or may not hook it up to a shield. In theory with the HDFury Arcana, I'm assuming it would all talk and work just like your example here in the video with the TV. I appreciate any feedback or if you have something out there now about this or coming soon. Great videos!
Hi Jonah, this is an excellent video and solves my issue perfectly so thank you. I use a projector connected to my Sky Q mini box and currently, I'm splitting out sound to optical on the Sonos Arc and getting 5.1, but want the full Atmos. Can I ask, is there another device with more inputs you know about and can recommend as I also use an Nvidia Shield?

Its happening on all soundbars sadly, i used bypass option on my LG C8 to get that annoying delay to be gone or at least reduced so its not noticeable and annoying af

I have only Arc conectipn and DD+ is not supported on my LG OLED (EG9100). Will Dolby Atmos will still work with this?
2 big hifi stores in Sweden told me that of your tv/ projector doesnt support eArc it is IMPOSSIBLE to use eArc. So therefore I was planning to leave my arc back to the store since i have got open shop guarantee.

I have an HDMI-ARC Switchbox with 3 inputs and one output to TV and one to the sonos arc.
But the thing that annoys me is that when I play Spotify and then want to switch to watching TV, the sound doesn't switch to TV mode.
When I manually set it to TV in the sonos app, I get an error that there is no arc connection
In the settings menu I turned on the settings to overrule the TV. How's this works with the Hdfury Arcana?

So I can hook this up from my older 4k TV that only has hdmi 2.0a to my new receiver that has earc 4k pass through???
My 2016 Samsung KS8500 tv's spec says DD+ but I don't get atmos with the native Netflix app (shows HDR 5.1) on the Sonos Arc (connected to the hdmi arc port).
Any thoughts on how to debug this? I've exhausted all options so far and haven't had any luck. 😐

Did you notice a change in quality using the fury? I only have arc on my tv and looking at getting the Sonos arc and wondering will I need to get the fury arc and Apple TV. My current tv has android system built in so can use all the apps like Netflix, prime and Disney+ etc
@@DanEscapesThe sound quality is absolutely noticeable and significantly improved. However, if you're strictly using your Smart TV's internal streaming apps you should already be getting Dolby Atmos through your Arc and don't need anything else. You can check whether the Sonos is getting Dolby Atmos on the Sonos app. If you want to use an Apple TV or similar streaming device you'll need the HDFury ARCANA (not the Fury) to get Atmos out of the Sonos Arc.

@@juanvalera7272 Does your TV have an EARC out? If it does, run your HDMI cable from the EARC on the TV to the Sonos Arc. You should be getting Dolby Atmos from your TV's internal Netflix & Amazon Prime apps, and it will be indicated on the Sonos app. If you're not, the TV probably doesn't support EARC and you would need the Arcana to act as the "middle man" between the TV and Arc. Is it worth it if you have to pay the 230? Really depends on your financial situation but in my opinion Dolby Atmos is the most immersive and impressive sound you can get and the Sonos Arc does an amazing job delivering it. Remember though that there are still a limited (but expanding) choice of Atmos titles out there. Good luck and stay safe!

My LG TV is only hdmi arc and it doesn't output DTS audio via hdmi arc. When a DTS audio is input to the TV it will output PCM 2.0 audio to arc.
I need something like this for my soundbar.
So i just purchased the Sonos ARC. A lot of my movies in Plex are DTS 5.1. I understand that the ARC does not support DTS but I thought Plex would transcode it to a playable format (it doesn’t). Will the HDFury help with that or will i need to decode my movies in a different audio format?
Hi Jonah, I stumbled upon this video and this may be the solution for my problem. Id be happy for a short reply from you.
So Im planning on getting a new high end tv + a sonos arc system + philips hue sync box to also get surround light.
But the sync box and the arc both need the arc/earc outlet on the tv and i could not find a problem or find a splitter which supoorts earc.
Is this product the solution to my problem tho ? Because I want to control it all with alexa and not loose any funtionality or quality with video or audio and also be able to have the full philps hue experience watching "normal" tv and streaming or gaming !

Hi, I have a Philips oled805 TV with only an arc port. To connect to the TV, I used Sonos Arc + 2 one SL + 1 sub. So far, the built-in Netflix TV has performed admirably. I can play Dolby Atmos without any delay. However, when I connect my PS5 to the Philips TV and use the Dolby sound option in PS5, it shows dolby 5.1 but the sound has a 0.5 s delay, which I can clearly hear. When I switched it to PCM, there is no delay, but the soundbar was operating on a stereo model, which produces only two channels of sound, and the sound was very crisp. So I'm wondering if Aracna will fix the delay issue when I use PS5? Thanks
Hi Jonah! A big thanks for this video. I have a 2020 Samsung 4K Tv and a Sonos Arc. Apparently this model TV does not support DTS and now Sonos have updated with DTS support. Would the Arcana fix this so I get DTS sound?
Did you ever try this? I have the Samsung QN90B and a Sonos Arc and have the same DTS woes 😭
@@Marth8880 no I never got one. After speaking to someone who supplies them, they told me it wouldn’t work.

May I ask you 2 questions:
1) does the HDFury text at the bottom of the tv screen go away after a little bit?
2) did you have to update the HDFury firmware? My MacBook won’t bring it up when I connect them together. Is it really necessary or can I just plug and play without updating? (Waiting on my soundbar to arrive) - Sonos ARC

Hello! Had a question. Why cant a regular AVR be used to fo the same thing? Dont AVR's come with an eARC where i can then connect my amazon fire cube to the AVR, have the video go to the projector and have the audio go through the eARC from theAVR to the sonos? What am i missing?
In case you are using DIRECTIONAL Fiber optic HDMI cables - obviously the APPLE TV (for example) will be the SOURCE connection ....Both OUTPUTS of HD FURY ARCANAS will be SOURCE connection > The TV or PROJECTOR will be DISPLAY connection .... SONOS ARC will also be DISPLAY connection

If you got the Sony A7000 sound bar. You don’t need the HDFury. The sound bar has a Earc HDMI for Audio that goes the Apple TV or similar device. Then another HDMI for the TV or projector. I got the HDFury but didn’t have to use it.
