Hi, I have a Philips oled805 TV with only an arc port. To connect to the TV, I used Sonos Arc + 2 one SL + 1 sub. So far, the built-in Netflix TV has performed admirably. I can play Dolby Atmos without any delay. However, when I connect my PS5 to the Philips TV and use the Dolby sound option in PS5, it shows dolby 5.1 but the sound has a 0.5 s delay, which I can clearly hear. When I switched it to PCM, there is no delay, but the soundbar was operating on a stereo model, which produces only two channels of sound, and the sound was very crisp. So I'm wondering if Aracna will fix the delay issue when I use PS5? Thanks
So, using the splitter its only possible to have the sound with the arc? Or its possible to shutdown the arc and use the speakers of the tv without disconnect the splitter? For example stream Musik to the arc using airplay 2 from iPhone AND watching any fitness tutorial on the tv?

I have a similar variation of this problem but no sonos involved and wondering if this HD fury unit would help or what the issue is... My late 2016 Samsung 4K KU6300 tv has only 1 HDR input on HDMI 1 but ARC to my receiver is HDMI 3. All my devices support 4k HDR & atmos (Denon AVR-X3600H, Apple TV 4K & Samsung 9500 Blu-ray). All worked smooth until recently setting up the Apple TV 4K where I noticed I can either get simple reliable functionality limited by arc specs or kinda buggy full spec HDR/atmos but not both. Also my Denon room calibration settings often get switched off /reset to default by the Apple TV 4K. I’ve read all the manuals/ mfr websites, how to videos etc and wanted some feedback before dropping $200 on an adapter. Thanks.
I dont quite understand whether this device can solve my problem. I have a smart TV with only 3 ARC ports (NO eARC), and a sonos arc soundbar with an earc input. I want losless audio from my TV to my soundbar, and I dont want any external device like a ps5 or a receiver or cd player etc. If I connect my tv's arc port to my soundbar, everything works fine and i can get the compressed version of dolby atmos from streaming services etc, but i cannot get FULLHD losless audio from my tvs internal storage to my soundbar, because my tv ofcourse only outputs through an ARC hdmi port. My question is: If i connect the ARC port of my TV to this device, and then connect the device to the earc input of my soundbar. And then play a file that has full HD losless audio from my tv's internal storage, will it output the losless audio to my soundbar? Or is this device only usable with an 'external source', like a ps5 etc?

So i just purchased the Sonos ARC. A lot of my movies in Plex are DTS 5.1. I understand that the ARC does not support DTS but I thought Plex would transcode it to a playable format (it doesn’t). Will the HDFury help with that or will i need to decode my movies in a different audio format?
Can you suggest the best way to have two alternative inputs to the Arcana. For example a Roku Streaming Stick for Netflix etc, and my normal Sky box (here in the UK). In other words which splitter could you recommend.
I wanted to share my experience: - Bought Sonos Arc last week - I have an Optoma Cinemax P2 with no e-arc - thank you for this video, watched on Monday and promptly ordered the Arcana (thanks for the code) - it was supposed to arrive Friday but it got here Wednesday!!! - I also ordered the RooFull Premium 5 port HDMI switch from Amazon - I am now sitting in my couch enjoying atmos in my PS4, SHIELD and HTPC all flawlessly controlled through Logitech Harmony THANK YOU 🙏
This is the exact set up that we are considering (Sonos Arc + Arcana + Optoma Cinemax P2). Do you have a picture of your set up? I'm trying to figure out how to place the Arc in relation to the Cinemax P2 since they'll both be sitting on the TV stand. Also, have you tried the 3D yet? How is the quality?
Hi Jonah, just new to the Sonos products. I have purchased a Sonos ARC recently and I did find that my Samsung tv doesn't have an eARC port. It only allows to passthrough up to dobly digital 5.1. I would like to get dolby atmos from my apple tv 4K and yes HDfury Arcana is a good option but I would also like to have more HDMI inputs. Is there any other product that you would recommend to do the same job with more inputs?
I just bought a JBL bar "9.1" sound bar system. I have a sony bravia 65x750h tv manufactured in 2016. it does not have an eARC connection. My question is will i even be able to use the dolby atmos features of the JBL bar 9 with this tv. I understand that arc can do compressed dolby atmos audio but what i dont know if my TV will send the signal or work in a way where the new soundbar actually presents a form of dolby atmos. Also if not then will this hdfury arcana you are talking about remedy the situation?
My set up is Sonos Arc + LG55UJ + Apple TV 4K for Netflix and prime. I dont get any atmos signal !! My TV has ARC but not eARC and I thought this should at least get me lossy atmos but no :(. Quite disappointed. Will HDFury Arcana solve this issue ? Want to be sure before I get it as it is $400 here in AUS.
It’s possible the TV isn’t able to process Dolby Digital Plus through HDMI ARC, but that’s strange. You should still be getting Atmos. Make sure whatever content your streaming has Dolby Atmos audio (I’m sure you have, just double check). But yes, the Arcana will definitely solve this issue for you!
Jonah Matthes Yup, even rented a movie from ITunes on the Apple TV to be sure. But I don’t get lossy atmos :(. I’ll give it another month or so to see if there will be cheaper, less complicated solutions out there. If not, might just buy a New TV on Black Friday that has eARC. Thanks heaps though. Loving your content !!
The Apple TV 4K outputs a special flavor of Atmos known as Dolby MAT, which encodes Atmos metadata into an uncompressed LPCM 7.1 stream. It's primarily intended for gaming (it's also used by the Xbox One S & X and one of Nvidia's streaming boxes), but it helps Apple deal with an arcane (and IMO stupid) Netflix rule that only devices which decode DD+ internally can stream Atmos. (That's supposedly why most Roku devices' Netflix apps don't support Atmos.) Atmos over Dolby MAT isn't supported by regular ARC as its LPCM is limited to 2.0, but the Arcana should bypass that limitation.
So here's a question. I have a TV with just ARC not eARC. If I use this will the rest of my devices plugged into my TV via HDMI all output sound in Dolby Atmos or just the device I plug into the HDMI input of the Arcana?
No, just the devices you connect to the HDMI Input or the Arcana. You can use an HDMI switch to connect all of your devices, then output from the switch to the Arcana.
Nope! Just connect your devices to the HDMI Inputs on the soundbar. This device is meant for Soundbars that don’t have HDMI inputs, and a TV that doesn’t have eARC. If you need more HDMI inputs, consider an HDMI switch.
Jonah, I now have the Samsung Q950T soundbar and love it! I plugged my Nvidia Shield TV into the Arcana just the way you did but I get no sound. Do I need a certain setting in the Arcana? I've messaged Arcana but the guy will never answer any questions if it's not related to Sonos ARC. Any ideas?
May I ask you 2 questions: 1) does the HDFury text at the bottom of the tv screen go away after a little bit? 2) did you have to update the HDFury firmware? @@jamesgarrett6602 Yes, you'll like it. If you order it directly from them make sure you pay for the three day shipping. I was actually shocked that I got it in three days from Taiwan.
You need an external device for this device such as a Shield, Blu-ray player, PC, Firestick etc. If your setup is just a TV and soundbar, then this is not for you I think. Edit: Appears the Firestick doesn't support lossless audio www.reddit.com/r/plex/comments/axqrzu
I just want to know something. I have the lg c9 oled , who has earc Also I have the apple tv 4k. If I am correct, what’s you are saying is that If I use the arcana and play atmos content on Netflix on apple tv4k the audio should be dolby atmos true hd rather than dolby atmos or dolby digital plus?
So is the point of this to get dolby true hd from a 4k blue ray player for atmos? Is there any point of using it with an apple tv since streaming services use lossy version of atmos? My tv will pass atmos from an apple tv or fire tv cube. So this would just basically be an hdmi input for a 4k blu ray to get true atmos. Am I correct on this? Just trying to decide if it would make any real difference in my setup with my arc.
Great review 😊 Thanks for the info! But I have a question that I hope you will answer. I have a 2018 samsung tv with Dolby digital plus and the sonos app never shows if I get Dolby atmos so I doubt I'm getting it. I just got the sonos arc last week. I only stream movies through the apps on the TV. And I know Netflix and disney+ has some atmos content. So if I got the arcana and used the hdmi in for my TV and eArc out for sonos, then I would be able to get Dolby atmos from that? 😊 Or will I need the nvidia shield for example?
I was wondering this the same but turns out. You need streaming product (Nvidia Shield/ Apple TV). This doesn't fix your TV outputting TrueHD/DTS:HD-MA. Netflix,Disney+ or any other streaming service will output w.e your TV is able to. In the end of the day, you may as well spend on a streaming product if your soundbar/receivers have more HDMI ports and eARC. If not, and only eARC, then this would fix that. That's pretty much it.
@@BAOUZIZI none of the streaming companIES support HD formats like DTSHDMA or TRUEHD, Atmos is included in Dolby Digital Plus streams, so you don't need eARC TV in this case, you only need TV with Atmos support

1) does the HDFury text at the bottom of the tv screen go away after a little bit?
2) did you have to update the HDFury firmware? My MacBook won’t bring it up when I connect them together. Is it really necessary or can I just plug and play without updating? (Waiting on my soundbar to arrive) - Sonos ARC

Thanks a lot for your valuable review. Would you be able to review the phone app for it? Would any HDMI switch work with it? HDMI 2.1.
It's of course backwards compatible but I believe it only has the one HDMI 2.1 qt. Honestly HDMI 2.1 is a mess right now and I'd stay away from it.
@@JonahMatthes have any recommendations on the best 4k/atmos hdmi switch?
So Jonah would you use it on a Nakimachi which only has ARc? I do have more ports but wondering if passing it through the tv would it be more clear?
Nope! Just connect your devices to the HDMI Inputs on the soundbar. This device is meant for Soundbars that don’t have HDMI inputs, and a TV that doesn’t have eARC. If you need more HDMI inputs, consider an HDMI switch.
@@JonahMatthes thanks!!! Glad all the Sonos Arc people have the option now.

So, I should connect my TV output to this and it coverts it to earc? How does it do that if the TV is not earc to begin with?
You need an external device for this device such as a Shield, Blu-ray player, PC, Firestick etc.
If your setup is just a TV and soundbar, then this is not for you I think.

Jonah, do I only need ONE HDMI 2.1 ultra high speed cable going from the Arcana eARC port to my JBL 9.1 soundbar eARC?
I just want to know something. I have the lg c9 oled , who has earc Also I have the apple tv 4k. If I am correct, what’s you are saying is that If I use the arcana and play atmos content on Netflix on apple tv4k the audio should be dolby atmos true hd rather than dolby atmos or dolby digital plus?
Well explained, answerd a lot of questions.sound difference ,noticeable worth it.?maybe not so great on samsung 990c.?
@@BAOUZIZI thanks for the reply. I never found an answer so I didn't buy it. So I'm glad you can confirm it 😊
