      Hi! Can you talk about the mines owned by Canada and the violence caused by these mines against indigenous peoples and the environment?
      Also, in Brazil, more than 6,000 people from 176 indigenous peoples are demonstrating against the paralization of the demarcation of indigenous lands and against draft laws aimed at destroying the fundamental rights of indigenous peoples, this protest is called *Luta pela Vida*.
      Currently, we are waiting for the decision of the Federal Supreme Court of Justice regarding the demarcation of indigenous lands. Can you also make a video about this?

      Interesting, I thought the opposite. Figures were cherry picked to turn an otherwise nuanced topic (blame for the climate crisis) into a denunciation of US foreign policy. Production and demand are inextricably tied together, so making change in the direction of sustainability requires an active effort from both parts, as well as in global and national politics, to allow and promote the aforementioned two. Of course its way more complicated than that, and there are so many other factors in play.

      @@imiy Well, if you want to go that route, you could blame climate change on every single individual, because we partake in a society that relies on production which in turn uses energy and causes pollution.
      No, the reason for doing this is so that we can track on national level how much each nation contributes. This forces developed countries to face the reality that they actually contribute much more, even today, than what the statistics say, since they have outsourced a lot of the production, but the demand is still generated from their countries. All of this will make tracking and reasoning about what needs to be done much clearer and it'll be easier to form policies and reforms, and it'll be harder to obfuscate one's contributions to emissions.

    • @zachweyrauch2988

      Ive thought alot about this. I settled on social non-participation.
      Be something locally, buy locally, work locally, barter as much as you can and never buy new if possible. Do EVERYTHING you can to avoid purchases and patronize small business for your staples where possible.
      It comes down to the simple fact that wal-mart has so much money that if your local politician doesnt take the bribe then they get deposed by the money that would have otherwise been bribed to them.
      All you can do is make systems for your nieghbours to have things without using the larger capitalist system. (maybe get in shape for no reason in particular)

      The political system prevent us from doing anything. When was the last time people decides policies in the US?

    • @OlJackBurton
      @OlJackBurton 3 роки тому +9

      You're funny. The political system is so broken in the US (it's broken in other developed countries, but most egregious in the most powerful nation on earth of course) that no one can do ANYTHING without control of the executive branch and complete undivided supermajorities in the other two branches, and even then it takes forever. Bipartisan? What a joke.
      Of course, the real joke is thinking that the US was a democracy (ruled by the people through fair representation) in the first place. The US is a plutocracy and a corporatocracy using military muscle and bullying sanctions on weaker countries with impunity (well, until these countries eventually foment terrorists that are crazy enough to attack such a powerful country as the US). A country with so many weapons and deadly and destructive toys is one that is uneasy and insecure and has made a lot of enemies. When they US couldn't legally exploit slaves anymore, they expanded their search on other countries to exploit, and when that wasn't enough (the US really thought they could exploit China and their cheap labor and then their enormous market forever, as the British did as well), they found ways to legally enslave their own people again.
      Here are your videos. They might not make you feel much better in terms of solutions, but they're apparently very crowd pleasing for whatever reason...
