It's the ignorance they teach about economics that causes our problems.
The notion that building "wealth" is a positive thing. When it's a dog whistle for socialism. Like wealth gives you a right to socialism mailbox money.
To take out loans to buy real estate to rent back to us. In the name of "building wealth", and that causes real estate shortages.
It's economic ignorance. Very poor math.
Houses are outpriced for the working-class to afford and no policing to help us to stop socialism.
And we need policing by a Democratic nation. Not "wealth". Get rid of Citizens United. Let us choose who we associate with. Citizens United takes our choice away. Citizen United makes us slaves.

It would not change anything. Take the money away from the rich and give it to the rest, some years later it will be back in the billionaires bags. An example of the hypocritical world we live in is on this channel. "I love your videos so much" "Never stop" "You're so great" but still this man can't earn enough money from 280k people. People talk to much and do to little. This is why people who DO (the evil billionaires and others) will become wealthy because they invent good tools, helping people. Otherwise they would not be rich.

@@leonard0104 do you really believe billionaires are that rich because they work harder than people who work two or three jobs and are smarter than the most renown scientists and engineers on the planet?
Or is it maybe a lot of initial luck, combined with having no moral qualms about exploiting everyone around you and the ability of money to acquire more money without you having to do anything?
Is Bill Gates somehow a better programmer than Linus Torvalds? Not just better but billions of times better? Or did Gates just do the immoral thing and try to monopolize the market and exploit workers while Torvalds did the moral thing and made it free for everyone to use?

@@leonard0104 You know he won't earn enough? Not all can really aford regular monetary support. Adding comments is supposed to help.
Reducing inrqualiru would help by reducing the imbalance in political control. We may need to see some realities and change our thinking along with it. A maximum wage or income could help.
The idea that converting everything that possibly can be into a concentrated personal wealth for a few people is a good thing is a big problem. It as seen as the way things should be and needs to be.
Money means merit and merit means money. A dangerous blindness comes with this.
People come to think or act as if those with the most money are simply better people when it comes to just about anything: smarter, more thoughtful, have the best things in mind, most helpful, generous.........
They have polls to show much of this. In short, people assume lots of good things about wealthy people without having nor demanding any evidence. The wealth is the only "evidence" they need.

Yeah, but this is a useful opportunity to distinguish between run-of-the-mill millionaires and the billionaire class, especially given that phrases like "demonizing wealth" or, more euphemistically, "demonizing success" are often used as a cudgel any time we dare critique the status quo. Wealth alone isn't the problem, per se. It's the access that wealth buys - to legislators, international organizations, "thought leaders," media, and institutions (like universities) - that is the real problem. John Greene is certainly rich, but with a net worth less than 20 million dollars, his ability to shape laws, regulations, and public discourse through his money is far more modest than the ultra rich.

You are right about the billionaires being able to use their donations as tax write-offs but what a bunch of people don't get is those systems are also whats helping small business owners. There are a multitude of things that can be written off. Anyone that works for Uber knows you write-off your miles and your gas but there is a lot more that you can write-off like food, myself being an entertainer I can write-off apparel, donations, and virtually any other expense like gear or services. The other thing people do not realize is that these systems can help them too. Setting up an LLC is not the most expensive thing in the world and is something to work towards. You can have an LLC setup under your own name just as long as you get an EIN that will work with giving you tax write-offs.

You can try to open a door all you want by acting parallel to it or you can act perpendicular to it and open the door using less energy. Working smarter always beats working harder. Probably an unpopular opinion, but I don't fully agree with you. Sure, the people know what they need and want, but they don't always know how to, or actually move to get what they need and want.
You mention taxation and movements, when taxation gives the money to possibly even more corrupt politicians, while movements are just common folk using their productivity time to voice out, hoping someone would listen to them, not actually using their time and effort to change something.
I respect billionaires, because they know how the world moves, and use the rules they know to achieve success. Their success stems from the service their built leading a bunch of people who wouldn't have provided such services otherwise.
While I do agree the system is rigged, giving money to the people will rig the system too, only before this it was rigged by billionaires who earned that money, now it's rigged by common folk who got that money by force from the government, who aren't guaranteed to know how to best make use of that money. Who is to say that these "people's representatives" won't be as corrupt as what we have now? Politicians we're supposed to be the "people's representatives".
I think the biggest problem is, people just aren't standing up. People complain, protest, but don't put in the action to make the change. Take MeetKevin for example. California is a mess? Become the governor and fix it. Rules are rigged by the rich? Actually learn about candidates and select the good ones, or run yourself.
The reason there's no change is because there are still too many sheep among American, who expect others to do the important things for them. Then they complain about inequality, a rigged system, etc etc.

    • @waasar
      @waasar 3 роки тому +7

How is curbing unjustifiable earnings rigging the system?
People often talk about "the system" like it's a fixed set of sacred rules that magically provide the optimal results for mankind. Many people therefore perceive changing the system as something that must be negative.
Furthermore, many people seem to think of the system as inherently just, leading people to believe that the the money billionaires make has to be a fair reflection of their relative contribution.
In reality the system is just what policy makers decide it to be and it is subject to constant change.
The world's richest people make this much money not by working millions of times harder than the rest of us, but by coming up with all sorts of ways to influence policy makers to enact policies in their favour.
Governments can also be corrupted but I am not sure how that is supposed to be worse than having billionaires in power. Billionaires are definitely "corrupt" in that sense (spending money to increase their own power rather than improve general wellbeing). Billionaires are also not accountable to the people and cannot be removed from power by democratic means.
You're also implying that billionaire corporations are absolute experts at allocating money, whereas governments hardly know what they are doing. I'd argue an imperfect institution that doesn't always act in your favour is still a lot better than an imperfect institution that definitely doesn't act in your favour.

I just see a lot of hyporitical GOOD people lately and I hate it. If you hate against other people and do not really do something yourself (against those "evil people" or better something good) in my opinion you are just trying to do yourself and your conscience a pleasure by being a hypocrite "good person".
everything what "seems good" is being supported. for example socialism. like, do people realize socialism NEVER worked out in the past and rn? look at venezuela, and why dont we have a soviet union and so on. it just does not work. capitalism and even social-capitalism brought so much benefits, progress and wealth to people. or do you want to live in a world like in the middle ages (not that they had socialism there lol idk).
I think people are just unhappy but attack the wrong targets. they hate against so many things which are so unnessasary. taking away money from the rich for example wont help. Give it to the rest, the "poor people" and in a view years the money will be back with the rich.
That is how I think it works. People innovating and bringing people good will be benefited with money. if you dont want them to get rewarded they would not do such things or there would not even be a drive to make the earth a greater place or push humanity.
Idk if I am being unfair. Was nice reading your answer tho

being born form a wealthy family I was always against the idea of my parents donating hundreds of million because it doesn't help the poor in any way but just a false sense of hope, they told me it's for their own interest and imagines, I never think it helps anybody in the long term, turns out that's just the case, if they really want to help they should've change the industry instead of how they can manipulate where the money goes

Stop being so greedy maybe, they have more than enough to buy whatever they want and sustain all their life without ever working again.
Most of us don't have nothing close to that and that's why we can't do much and struggle to just keep ourselves alive and without debts...

"When billionaires make charitable donations they can write off that amount off their taxes"
When you compare a guy who's figured out how to build something productive worth billions of dollars against the kind of ineptness, corruption, and frankly malfeasance we see from the government, it seems to me the billionaire using his money charitably would be vastly more efficient and productive than what the government would do with that money. That's true for all of us but on a far grander scale with someone with a proven track record of success.

I always like to come back to the story of how LA government wanted to help homelessness by pitching tents. A year behind schedule they finally managed to pitch 50 tents, with the total taxpayer bill coming to around 60,000 dollars per tent…
Give an entrepreneur that kind of money and they’ll be able to feed hundreds, provide jobs for hundreds more, boost the local economy, and come out with more money than you gave them

      @darioinfini 3 роки тому +5

@@catfunt5583 Thing is, you wouldn't have to *give* the entrepreneur that money. The entrepreneur however does have to give that money to the government, which promptly wastes it and takes more. That's why government has to be kept to a minimum.
