Maybe if I bite him, he will move out of the way. Had me smiling. I like the branch attached to the barn, nice perch. I can' only imagine what it feels like to take the first flight.
This shows how important genetic diversity is...physically and behaviorally. Number three's cautious approach may add or subtract years to his or her life, affecting the number offspring produced. Fascinating and beautiful birds!
The last wasn't quite sure and I think wanted back in, bit didn't know how to do it. Finally said, what the hey, did some branching and flew off. They are so beautiful.
We just "fledged" 5 flycatchers last week from their nest on our deck. True to this video, the last two were really scared. The mother and dad came back and encouraged them, but no dice. Finally, about a week later, the last two left.
Our feathered friends seem to experience their own anxieties and lack of self confidence. It seems the last chick didn't' know it could fly and had such trepidation about its own abilities to fly with its wings.
..it makes me want to study the evolution of emotions through different species… anxiety in kestrels.. go figure!!! .. and then maybe somebody is already studying it…
These guys do everything in a frenzy!! I laughed at the last 2 ... "HEY bro ... get going or let me go!!!" 🤣😂🤣😂
The reaction of the other three when the first youngster flew out was hilarious.😆
Congrats to the Kestrel chicks!! Have a fantastic, happy, and healthy life!

The last one reminded me of a moth, clinging to the wall like that XD
Amazing! Loving watching youngsters leaving the nest..... the first step/flight of their new life!
Awesome~ I hope that they all live in the wild well~
Thank you for sharing this video~🤗

Cute video....Thanks :)
That last one made me chuckle- couldn’t quite figure out what he was supposed to do!
The "final fourth" one should have pecked the "final third" one when he/she hesitated. "It's not so easy...told ya so!" 😆
As General Patton said, “lead, follow, or get the hell out of the way.”
I would definitely be the last one!
That's me at #4!
The last one is get out of my way
To quote the late Robin Williams. "Fly, be free!"

Fascinating. So I'm just wondering how they know how to find food once they're out. And water
My heart...
The last one was a bit of a chicken...
Gorgeous birds, though. Thanks!
The last baby was hesitant, did it finally fly off with the siblings?
I've been wondering about that as well.
Wasn't real sure about that initial jump AT ALL!! Bless it's heart!
Maybe it wasn’t really ready to fly! 😬
What are the dimensions of the nest box?
All males!
