Song Title: From Galway To Graceland - Richard Thompson Cover
GREAT VOCALS JOHN!!! CARRY ON SIR!!! ✌❤ from Hampton, VA
Fantastic singing and playing as always. Thanks for listening.
This is truly beautiful. What a lovely voice you have and your finger picking is amazing
Thanks for listening, beautiful playing and singing from John! It's great to show off the wealth of talent from around Donegal.
@@emeraldguitars such talent comes from Ireland...it's like a natural talent Irish people have and that's from me an English woman...although I do have 1% of Irish in my DNA 😂
Wow... It's not often that I hear someone covering a Richard Thompson song anywhere near as well as Mr Thompson. It would be great to hear you do Crazy Man Michael using one of these guitars.
A beautiful song John and on such a beautiful guitar. The more I hear these Emeralds, the more I want one.
Beautiful rendition and guitar accompaniment.
Fantastic, A great melodic tune, with great lyrics. Thank you
Lovely
What a beautiful rendition of this lovely song! 👌🏽👏🏽
You made a damned fine job of that.
Oh man, what a beautiful version.
Smashing cover
Thank you Tim
That's the shot.👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Man I just love your voice and style. Is there a name for the strumming/ finger picking. I want to learn how to do it.
Why do so many people covering this song change the lyric "she hummed Love Me Tender" to "she was humming Suspicion"? Glad you kept the original lyric.
I see you've asked this question on a few different versions of this song posted on UA-cam. I agree with you. My "suspicion" is that Sean Keane first covered it and everybody else that's Irish copied that version. He changed a few other words and phrases, too, thus making it "his own," I guess. You are right: nobody does it better than Richard. But as a sort of singer myself, I can sympathize with the people who want to sing it. It's a great song.
I believe it was originally Suspicion, and it was Richard Thompson changed it to Love Me Tender....goes better with the story
RT often changes the lyrics to songs. I have heard him sing this song many times live and have heard him sing both ways so i don't think there is any right or wrong. Real nice version this by the way.
Does John have a website or Facebook page? I would love to play him on my radio show. And what a beautiful guitar.
