We were almost on our way out when he came back out and this was one of the coolest things I've experienced in a while!! The Eastern was a great venue for this, too

This was such a great night. You're welcome for the upload! Was hoping someone would get something out of it! Was so glad he came back out for another nearly 30 minutes! I had also turned around and started walking out already.

I only just now found this, but being on the front row of this concert was one of the best experiences of my life.

Given that Jacob attracts an audience likely to be largely musical themselves, at least to some degree, I always find it remarkable how he can turn a group of strangers into a three part choir capable of such tone and dynamics.

    I was blown away.
This is almost musical magic. A kind of voluntary and beneficial hypnosis. I had never seen anything like it. And the way it elevates the audience to a really beautiful choir. Of course, it helps that people in the US know about musical education (a girl out of tune is perceived, but not very noticeable). But they are highly tuned. Really, he did it. He managed to elevate this encore concert to the level of the northern lights... And, by the way, I'm 65 yrs old. So, I am grateful.
    wow 3 times

I think the crowd wasnt as into him as some of his other our locations.. i heard people in line coming in talking about how they dont even listen to his music. I think some were there to check out the venue because the tickets were affordable.. thats just my theory

@@DylanJayce It's possible that the crowd wasn't as into him. I saw you and someone else mentioned that you were about to leave before they came back on. I just got out of the Detroit show and I don't think anyone except for the people at the very back would have started to leave. We had already started calling for an encore before they even left the stage. Edit: He did have a lot more fun with the rhythmic part of the audience improv in this video though.

Very impressive use of the crowd as a choir. No question that his persona and stagecraft are getting the most out of the audience. Presumably, he does actually play the instruments at times during his concerts, as that is what I'd be interested in. After all he's a formidable multi instrumentalist and quite possibly one of the greatest gifts to the jazz world for some time.
Personally, I'd like to see him play (keyboards and occasionally bass), with great guitarists and bass players with legendary drummers. One day perhaps. 🤔🤞
