Oh, so you mean it's like trying to get your promised Reserve Component retirement out of the Army/DFAS. If you don't "apply" for it as of 2018, then the Govt is more than happy to forget about that it owed you anything.
Hmmm. Not sure I get you... I have several colleagues who have successfully navigated the retirement process from the USAR. As for Space-A, yes you have to meet their criteria and apply the rules, but it can be pretty easy once you fly a couple of times.
@CliffWagner That's the whole point! We shouldn't have to "navigate" anything. You can't tell me that someone out there isn't incapacitated for some reason, mentally, physically, or both, and got their 20-year letter maybe 20 years earlier. Who's helping them?
I may try to get a flight to Hawaii out of Travis.I live in So. Calil., so Id either drive or fly to the nearest airport to Travis. Any recommendation. I am 100% service connected, is there lodging on Travis. I have posted questions to you before but did not get an answer? How do I get it? thanks, Lloyd I.
There is lodging on Travis however it depends if it’s a Reserve Duty weekend it will be tough to get accommodations. Call ahead and check for availability. If you plan on flying to Hawaii it’s very easy from Travis because there are a lot of flights to Hawaii. I hope this helps you.
Sorry if you did not get a response before. I know that you can get really inexpensive Southwest flights from So Cal to Sacramento International. Then just UBER down to Travis. As @skip2it426 indicated, call ahead to Travis to check on accomodations, they have a very large Air Force Inn. Getting between Travis and JB Pearl Harbor/Hickam should be easy and once in Hawaii, watch for return flights to March Air Reserve Base in Riverside Co. or North Island NAS in San Diego. Hope you have a blast!
alohaairporter.com/ I have not used them, but aloha Airporter comes highly recommended. I suggest that you call them and confirm they have access to the passenger terminal at Travis AFB.
I have not done that route yet, but have heard of folks who have. Are you on Facebook and if so, are you already on Military Space Available Travel group? Check in there and get ideas. Thanks for supporting the channel!
It is one sign up. You can watch for PE on the 30 Day Schedule and as they enter the 72 Hour window they will then show up on the 72 Hour schedule. If you sign up and show up on a day that the PE is flying, you can compete for the PE or for any cargo aircraft departing same day.
I was medically retired not 100%P&T. My military ID says Retired after reading DOD INSTRUCTION 4515.13 I think I qualify for the Space A under Category VI but I’m still a little confused. Do you have any clarification.
Where space-a flights are concerned medically retired is the same as retiring after 30 years. You and your lawful dependents are eligible to fly anywhere space-a goes. You are correct, you are CAT VI. Thank you for supporting the channel!
Thanks Cliff always appreciate your Space A information 👌🏾👍🏾👏🏾!
Glad to be of service and thanks for watching!

@@CliffWagner will do
So if were at Travis, do we get a choice of SpaceA or Patriot Express, is it one sign up or two?

Unfortunately, the developer of that app is not keeping it updated for Android or iOS.
