- We hike a 5.5 mile loop at Jackson Falls in Shawnee National Forest, located in Southern Illinois. The Jackson Falls trail follows the top of a bluff and then goes down and around into a canyon. Rock climbing and bouldering are popular activities here, and we catch a climber in action!

I rode my bike there out of Harrisburg a couple of weeks ago ( January 2024) I camped right by the creek since I was on my bike and arrived close to dark. It was a really pretty day and a lot of people there. I spotted 2 waterfalls flowing. Beautiful place! Plan on taking the family there this weekend!!
