    Here it is! I have to say Im really really happy with the performance of this boat. Excel are on to a winner here - some tweaks required, but this is going to get a lot of time on the water for me.
    I'd love to hear what you think!

    One of the best review videos I’ve seen of anything. Honest, with a point. Looks a cracking boat, and a good size too

      I've since installed some row locks and oars, but aside from that I'm very happy with the boat still today. Plenty other brands out there too!

    Hey great video and very nicely done as usual. This is the first video that I’ve seen on UA-cam with any analysis on the new Excel boats… Well done! I guess you’ve got to appreciate these new products come with teething problems, but good to know you think going forward it’s going to be fun…!

      Thanks so much, truly appreciated. Teething problems indeed, all or which easily addressed thankfully! The boat performs- a good foundation to build on.

    I was looking at the Explorer boats in their range because they were lighter and had a dedicated Air deck. They seem to take quite a big engine size for the smaller boats in the range which is appealing.

    • @TheReelIsle
      @TheReelIsle  8 місяців тому

      May be worth looking at the Scout 360 which also has an air deck. It really depends what you're looking for though. The Explorer range has those trim tabs, which you'll need to keep in mind when fitting transom wheels.
      I'll have to see if they'll loan me an Exporer to review

    Great honest review as always.Very disappointed with Excel they should know by previous experience about grap rails and rowlocks never mind that they will supply them if you want them at a extra cost.They should be standard. You should of had the last of the mohican music on when you were launching 😂😂😂

    • @TheReelIsle
      @TheReelIsle  9 місяців тому

      Agreed in that they should be supplied as standard, at least in some form. Or an optional extra at no cost, giving the option of plain tubes for those who want them

    Hi again Jason, which boat handles better in the water the Carbon Pro or your new Scout? They are slightly different design, obviously ones bigger, my guess is the scout is better but im just curious from your own experience or do they perform pretty much the same on the water?
    Thanks.
    Whens the next video? 😂

      Hi mate apologies for the late reply. Just back in the UK from a work trip. My 4m Scout is better on the water than my 3.65m Carbon, however both boats are pretty much the same aside from fittings, so the 4m Carbon or a 4m Scout would be my recommendation based on handling. The 3.65m boat is great but moving up to a 4m for fairly little weight gain is worth it due to the stability of the hull. I'll sell my 3.65m Carbon, and keep the Scout 4m. I would flip it around and sell the 3.65m Scout and keep the Carbon 4m if I had one. Next vid will be as soon as the weather and work permits - I forgot my sd card last trip, but that was just as well as the fishing was terrible ;)

      @@TheReelIsle Thanks man, Yeah the Carbon 4m looks to have all the bells and whistles, shame the scout didn't load up on accessories and even some of the basics however still a great sib once you get all those extras sorted! I'm for the Honwave T35 as it has enough room for my gear, it's shaped fantastically well for handling & speed and it's still low enough in the weight for me to handle with a dodgy arm 😤 going to pair it with my 20hp Tohatsu! Got myself a Gro Pro 10 for some good footage this year 😄👍

      Superb choice! If you use JCBW at checkout it'll knock £50 off seat bags or borika mounts (0 kickback). Don't buy cheap wheels: these are best on the market: amzn.to/3SnH66A

      @@TheReelIsle Thanks man, this will be my first boat and it will be paired with a 20hp probably Tohatsu.

      Great package. Weight wise manageable solo when you need to manoeuvre on land but large enough to go out all day with plenty of space. I think the 4m hull moves through the water better than the 3.65m, too. I'm running a 20hp tohatsu topping out 24mph when I last went out!

      @@TheReelIsle love the Scout seems to handle well, just wish they had rowlocks and the grab rope around the tubes.

    • @TheReelIsle
      @TheReelIsle  5 місяців тому +1

      I have the Excel accessory pack which includes the row locks and grab ropes etc. To be honest not sure if I'm going to install them all. Kinda like the plain tubes now..! Using my own ropes on the d rings as handles, and potentially some railblaza row locks

    Good review but that boat is £45 more than a Honwave T40 which is a tried and tested boat with no issues

    • @TheReelIsle
      @TheReelIsle  8 місяців тому

      Agreed, and the optional extras (like oars and row locks) will cost more. Unfortunately I've not had personal hands-on with a Honwave yet. I was always told they are a boat more for performance on the water vs an ideal fishing platform, which is the main use case for me. I'd love to test one though.

    If you purchased the Excel yourself, in surprised. It has so many faults.. Seems to handle well tho.

    • @TheReelIsle
      @TheReelIsle  5 місяців тому

      I had a warranty claim on a previous Excel boat, and I paid some additional money for the Scout instead of the previous model.
      You're right, it handles very well and now having owned it a while I can say that I'm very pleased with it.
      I plan on updating with a new review when the weather permits.

      It's missing some fittings in my opinion, yes! They're sending me a few items to retrofit - been waiting a few weeks now mind. I disagree about it being junk though - it's my 4th sib and I'm enjoying it despite the flaws.
