Yes. Apparently, that was true of Geritol.
Basically, yeah. A lot of moonshine mixed with a bit of vitamins. A spoonful was practically the same alcohol content and a shot of liquor.
That is what an elixir is: Alcohol is used as the vehicle for the medication.
Actually the alcohol was the LEAST concern. Back then they used cocaine, alcohol, cannabis, chloroform, and morphine.. So yea.
