It was a pleasure to bring our young artists to NPR headquarters in October to record for NPR’s legendary Tiny Desk concert series. Congratulations to cellist Cameron Renshaw (age 13), violinist Laura Jin (age 12), and composer/pianist Rhyuhn Green (age 18) and their collaborative pianists alum Eden Chen and Eri Kang on their superb performances. Thank you to our friends at NPR Music!
It's hard to imagine you are just 12 years old, you play like an adult. The demeanor, the notes are clean, very in sync with the piano and of course, as you mention the technical variety of this piece, is incredible. Of course, there's always room for improvement, but this is already concert level.
I first heard this piece by Paganini many years ago, performed by my cousin, cellist Emilio Colon. It's always been a favorite of mine, not just for its challenging nature but also for the intriguing story behind it (whether fact or fiction 😄). This interpretation is absolutely stunning. Overall, this Tiny Desk concert is a true delight-I can't stop replaying it!
Thank you NPR (every production member), for giving a chance to artists from all over the world, and (without an age limit) to share their musical creativity, and talent. Without your effort, who knows how many artists would have been overlooked due to the mainstream music.
THIS is what civilization is for, so this incredible human talent can be expressed, and not strangled and crushed in the daily struggle to survive. Whether art, or music, or dance, or drama, or poetry, it cannot flourish without the organized striving of humanity around it.
Thank you NPR for having Cameron, Laura & Rhyuhn to enlighten us with their gifted performances! Very Beautiful! Look forward to experiencing their gifts again🙏💗🌟
Tiny desk concerts often bring out that nostalgic feeling to us. This one right here touched my heart & soul with their amazing instrumental playing. Loved every second of it❤❤🔥🔥
Outstanding performances! I'd love to see more classical performances like these showcasing our young performers and composers. In particular Xavier Foley would be a wonderful choice for a future booking.
Wowy Zowy, that was some mighty fine fiddlin. Green’s piano composition was a breath of fresh air. Many composers are too arcane for audiences other than their moms and girlfriends. Symbiosis gives the listener a piece grounded in the 19th century while exploring some innovative twists.
Thank you Tiny Desk for bringing these young, inspired musicians to play among your books and memorabilia. Their smiles when playing, made me smile as well, and also cry a bit. Thank you !
one o the best tiny desks! Letting these young musicians shine on this platform warms my heart and their talent are breathtaking! The last piece composed by Green himself at 9 really spoke to me! Thank you.
Oh wow! So gifted at such a young age. We are proud of our young students and protegees. Keep going, stay strong, rise above the critics, stay true to yourself and craft.
Wow, what an amazing performance! 😊 These young artists are so talented and inspiring. Cameron’s opening song especially moved me-it really touched my heart. Thank you for this beautiful music! ❤❤❤
No doubt these kids and young adults have incredible talent but I can only imagine the amount of hours they put into practice and giving it their all. Amazing! I applaud you!

But does it make someone a profit? That's what really matters in the USA.
