I love CBC Marketplace, I love how they aren't afraid to go against any company, even the Canadian government, even though they are a public broadcaster. Really feels like they have the public's best interest at heart.
Because it's too long for people, they dont want to invest that much time in something they know nothing about. Time Stamps and a good description could help.
I believe the show airs on TV as well. So many viewers, especially long time fans, see it on there. But you're still right. This show could have a bigger UA-cam audience with the right kind of techie touch. I think it should be a required class in high school! At least the kids would pay attention and get off their phones because I know they would love it! This show has always been great stuff!
Yes, but they cannot set foot in those countries without government approval! Those countries recieving those dumps, are paid by the sender to buy landfill space and the government agrees to sell its country's dignity and reputation for money!
I really love marketplace, one of the top notch shows out there. Big Fan. Keep up the good work. Cant wait to see the next episode. CBC reports real stuff. I love it.
@700 K Yes!! I noticed that there is also a commercial I see often on UA-cam made by the Alberta Government promoting their online gambling site. Followed by a nice message that states how all the money stays in Alberta (followed by a small warning to not get addicted)! This is such a contradiction to that big fiasco when they took all the slot machines out of public places like pubs not that long ago claiming it promoted addictive behaviour. Now, apparently, the whole fuss was over nothing and they now advertise online gambling. They don't advertise cigarettes anymore. Or alcohol (I don't think so anyway). But weed and online gambling is totally ok!! I was horrified!! Anything for the big bucks I guess. I hope some of that money is going to help people who become addicted to gambling due to their sinful prompting! I'm sure that number has risen since Covid started. How confusing for our young people!
Guys CBC marketplace is my favourite show. I watch it even though I Live in India. Some things are common everywhere😂. But your presentation and honesty is what connects most with me
I just love you guys!! My favorite show ever! Thank you for making it readily available on UA-cam! I love that! Thank You, deeply Thank You, for continuing to create the show even throughout Covid. Somehow there is a feeling of still being connected, even while living in near-isolation, just because you guys are still looking out for us in the big, bad Marketplace! And you pull out all the stops to get to the truth and prove a point. Good stuff!! Much appreciated! Have a great summer!! See you in the fall!
And you want to know what "scares" me most of all? All they denounce doesn't apply exclusively to Canada, it's global. With some slight differences, like size of country location..., but mostly it all exists everywhere... Best regards to all from Lisbon Portugal. Stay safe!
I wish our journalists in the United States would be as aggressive in their interactions with officials who duck important issues, and be as concerned for the public's safety and well being as the Marketplace journalists are for Canada.
Thanks CBC Marketplace...one of my top favorite shows...I think that the order of sins should have had neglect move up to the second position after all people's lives have been lost...could have even been the number one sin!
#4 So you give these private companies your DNA - which i wouldn't do or recommend in the 1st place - and then they provide you with some random results that have been pulled out of their A5S. Yeah, sounds about right.
Thank you, Marketplace, for doing what you do - and for posting your content on UA-cam so the rest of the world can enjoy it as well. It's a type of reporting that's fallen out of favor here in the corporate-dominated US, so if not for you we'd have nothing like this.
I love this show, I can really trust them. I appreciate that they out the work in and go up against the powers that be whether that is corporate or governmental.
Not really Last time they show a lady with a 10 year old laptop complainang the battery died and she have to plug it to outlet to use it. I am sorry is a 10 year old laptop of course the battery isn't going to work. And then show this roofer who complain about the his new cell phone broke and he didn't do anything. He didn't even have a case on the phone and he is a roofer maybe he broke it?
What's worse is that even if COVID ends, nothing will change in our nursing homes. They don't care about seniors, only the money they can get from them.
I like this overall countdown of coverage! I would suggest you do a story on the price of popcorn and colas to see a movie in a theatre? why the high costs?
Ordered boots in November-no Canadian store had the size needed because it is popular for 14-17 years old. They arrived at end of January but I cannot pick them up unless I pay 112$ as border fees for Fedex. I already paid 450 US$. The price for any other size, in Canada, is 195$. Kickscrew is not in US but in Hong Kong. Every time I enquired about the delivery since November, they offered 10 or 20 US$.
In this new lockdown I can't buy a glass mug at a dollarama I'm forced to buy all plastic cups because plastic cups are essential and glass cups are non essential so ridiculous
Love the 'SIN LIST', hopefully Company's, government, and scammers learn to BREAK THESE SINS and DO THE RIGHT THINGS, THE RIGHT WAY!! Wonderful REVERSE PSYCHOLOGY tactic! High 5!!
#4 is kinda difficult to predict If you’re a biotechnologist then you’d know Basically, DNA samples can be quite random as the base sequences can be different in each saliva sample. Another factor which contributes to the differences in the DNA of identical twins are epigenomic differences which you won’t be able to see. These epigenomic differences are what makes every person unique. Sincerely, A person with an identical twin who is studying genes.
Great ending to your season. I got into the habit, back in the 1980's, of following TV commercials. That morphed into online commercials, and the latest trend I've seen by & for Canadians is online MLM's touting online business. They purportedly cost you nothing to start up, & bring in significant returns. Then there's the "Ancient Chinese Weight-loss Formula", which medical doctors don't want you to know about. :/ I always have commercials I either love, or love to hate. My biggest beef these days is the deluge by Grammarly. My last "Love it!" moment was for the reintroduction of the Mini Cooper. Absolutely hilarious. ;)
@MandyLina123 I don’t know if this is helpful for you personally, but I’ve heard good things about those Soda Stream machines. One friend bought hers from MaxSold, and another from Facebook marketplace. (Might as well save money, and rescue someone else’s unloved/unused appliances, especially if you’re not sure if it would work for you.) If you research the reviews on specific flavours ahead of time, you may find some brands are more authentic tasting than others. Wishing you and your loved ones safety, peace, and as much lighthearted laughter as you can get in these incredibly unpredictable and constantly changing times. 🙏🏼🇨🇦
@@traceynomatterwhat383 Thanks! I was really considering one but wasn’t sure due to space as I was considering a big move in a few years to another country but in the meantime, I drink water flavourings. As a Sydney boy in Australia here, I'd just like to say thank you to all Canadians here! I'm just bloody sick & tired of loudmouth gum-chewing Jesus quoting Yanks! Canadians are cool Down Under!
I hate how much plastic waste is coming with legal/retail marijuana. I thought ziplock bags were bad. Now anything comes in 2 to 3 layers of plastic packaging.
There's a simple question people should ask themselves when anyone is trying to sell them something---"sell" literally (taking your money) or figuratively (e.g. persuading you to embrace an ideology): "Cui bono?" ( "Who benefits?") Almost always, except in cases of purchasing the necessities of life, the answer is "not me." Saves a lot of hassle. And money.
I would like to know if Febreze is really not toxic and if it can harm for example Pregnant people. Whether it is the antibacterial to fabric or just air freshener. My opinion on the #1 sin.
Silence or silencing the opposition! So many companies threaten people who speak up, or cancel them.
Sin of silence! Bang on the right target! That indeed exists everywhere in Canada.
This episode is a great one, should have its own series called 7sins

Only 9% of plastic is recycled in Canada. It sounds like it would be more environmentally safer to throw it into the trash instead !!!
