This song holds a very special place in my heart as an Australian it was the battle where aussie and new Zealand troops made a world wide appearance separate of the british empire and would become the event that led to our breaking away from the empire and becoming independent anzac is (Australian and new Zealand army corps) and anzac day was made after gallipoli to commemorate those troops not anzac cove which is where we deployed also the turks and the anzac troops had great respect for eachother through the campaign and after ww1 during the campaign anzac troops and ottoman troops would have truces and trade chocolate cigarettes or other precious items during war and would have truces to pick up wounded and bury the dead and after war on the first anzac day the first president of modern day turkey (who also commanded a ottoman army during the campaign) made a good speech which you'll hear in sabaton history that's why in the song it said there was no enemies or foes as we didn't consider them enemies like we did with the germans
Hey its good to get emotional... that's wht's needed. Maybe if people had an easier time to show or even have emotions there would be less problems in the world. Less wars, less poverty, less illnesses and less economic crisis... e.t.c... It's a beautiful song for that reason. Nothing is hidden. Just the truth. As hard as it is, it needs to be taught.
One of my absolute favourite Sabaton songs. The lyrics are so poetic and unapologetic and the music melodic and catchy. Love your reaction as always! Never shut up, Jay!
Play this song on Anzac day every time. The Australian made movies & TV shows that cover this battle are real good. in 2015 for the 100th anniversary they did a made for TV series on the battle. also a good follow up to the 1981 Mel Gibson movie is (1987)"The Lighthorsemen" and if you can find it the 10 hr mini series with Paul Hogan "Anzac's: the war down under" which covers 1914-1918 w/ the fighting on Gallipoli
The Gallipoli campaign was doomed from the start as the navies of France and Britain failed to clear the landmines so they should have cancelled the attempted invasion at that point. Instead they decided to go ahead and it was a disaster. Churchill, who was First Lord of the Admiralty at the time, was held responsible and after demotion resigned from the government and went to the Western Front as an officer. It was a terrible experience for the mostly Australia and New Zealand troops and they didn't really get of the beach. If this is chapter seven then it is about manoeuvring and in this case it is the failure to manoeuvre that doomed the troops
So eerie how events can turn everything upside down. I would've preferred no second world war and having Churchill being remembered as an utter failure. I guess history had other plans, cheers mate!
It's a great song! I like your reaction very much, nice comments :-)

Without WW2 the Winston Churchill would be remembered by this chaotic slaughter.
So later war saved his reputation as he was leading British.
So eerie how events can turn everything upside down. I would've preferred no second world war and having Churchill being remembered as an utter failure.

I believe this is the only song that they have done that is in a major key
First soldier is also in major key, and I think I heard that there shall be a third song too but I don't remember the title.
Blood of bannockburn as well and there is another but i need ro watch all the episodes of #SabatonHistory
