well done. my buddy and i also only used chocks on nutcracker out in yosemite the same year royal robbins passed away. seemed like a proper way to climb one of his routes in his honor. we really gotta give it up to the golden age climbers back then, they were something else.
We went to climb the East Buttress but found a traffic jam with parties that showed no progress after we waited 45 minutes. We decided to try the East Face even though we hadn't studied the route. It's a classic, how hard could it be? We got off route and ended up in a steep box canyon at 14,000' with no way out except for a series of splitter cracks going up about 30 feet of dead vertical. Perfect cracks but unfortunately I didn't bring gear large enough for hands and had to lean over to a finger crack a running parallel to the hand crack a few feet a way and try to place each piece by braille. Thought I was going to cough up a lung. I'm personally glad I had cams as nuts wouldn't have done it for me. You guys showed great style climbing it old school.
Great Vid, altitude was definitely a problem for many. I had to take some Ibuprofen at the higher elevations. I was surprised how crowded it was at the summit when we got there. I'm thinking of opening a Starbucks at the top : ) Really enjoyed your vid
I climbed this route in 1969. All chocks and a couple of real bolts, not put in by us. Thanks for the memories.
"i feel like shit" "ok you wanna lead?" lmaoo

I love that you two share adventures together

As a old school climber you guys rock.
I have never led a route using only nuts. It sounds nuts. Y'all got some big nuts. Did y'all snack on any nuts during your all nuts ascent?
Did that seem clever to you while it was still between your ears? If so, something bad happened on its way to your fingers.
acommenter fuck you that was funny hater

Was that person at 1:41 wearing a bicycle helmet?

Now that I look at it again, it does say "Bell" on it.

I'll open a Starbucks across from your Starbucks and we can rename Mt Whitney Seattle Washington
Acclimatise, with shorter lower climbs or hikes in the weeks before going to 14,000 feet. There are plenty of climbs out there, make it fun.
Fun channel
I felt like that on Whitney before, no fun.
No wonder you aren't feeling well, "The Range of Light" (Sierra) is higher than Colorado.
That music runs me off.
nice video, awful music
dope her up some more fool I like the way he laughs at you instead of with you
