Well, I pulled the pin on some Black Ops 3" J-pipes and put the aftermarket mufflers back on after three days. Way too loud and obnoxious with an upleasant rasp that I'm really not a fan off. Idle and cold start up sounded fantastic and aggressive AF, but for daily driving and on freeways they were far too loud and compared to the aftermarket mufflers I've got, inferior note-wise. I realised very quickly that with a cammed 6.0L with OTR, headers, 100 cell cats, an X-pipe and a 3" stainless catback, J-pipes are total overkill. Still, they only cost $265 so that's OK, but the aftermarket mufflers give me that deep, sonorous rumble I'm after rather than that attention-grabbing, ear-piercing rasp. I'll leave that nonsense to the V6 P plate crowd, I reckon and stick to a more grown up exhaust. But hey, if that's people's thing Im not going to judge. It just isn't my thing.

I got the hurricane 3” system on my Vf at the moment and was gonna jump to straight pipe for fun but the J pipe sound is on point. If it reduces cab drone, I’ll definitely go the Jpipe. Nothing worse than the slight incline at 110km in a cammed SS 😂
They work great! Personally I think the camera audio didn’t do any of them justice they are always going to sound better in person. But would 100% recommend!
I'd love to hear a 3 inch hurricane with J pipe rears. I've got 2.5 Manta atm with J pipes thinking of switching to hurricane 3 with J pipes

@@ugabugawugaguga even with headers and a mild cam hardly any drone at all, I'd say the J pipes cut 85% of the drone out.

Hey mate I run the full black ops 3" system w/ headers myself. I have tried both the mufflers and the J-pipe deletes and found that the mufflers do sound the best in my experience. For me, the J-pipes made it clacky. sounded good lumping on the spot but yeah. With other mates that have the similar X-Force branded exhausts without the centre muffler, sound very similar. Hence the next thing I will try will be removing the centre muffler and running hotdogs instead maybe?? Overall, they do sound good either way.

Black ops makes a very good system for ls commies and the price point is very good. I’ve gone the big dollar DFP with headers on my built ls3 but my mates have black ops and they sound and perform no worse than mine on similar builds. Btw, nice car mate, love the wheels and stance!

I have the same system, I really need to get j pipes. Also nice ss mate... my only constructive criticism would be, go the smaller wheels on the front, leave the big dish on the rear and go the staggered look. No need for spacers etc.

Great video! Did you end up camming it and doing a new comparison vid? My 6.0L is cammed with OTR and a 3" catback and I'd be keen to hear what the J pipes sound like. Also, how's the drone at freeway cruising RPMs? I'm after more volume and growl but want to reduce increased drone as much as possible. And FYI, I'm a "50 year old bloke" so thanks for the shout-out 😂
Thanks man! We uploaded a video on the channel last week of the full cam package and how it sounds with the j pipes and 3 inch catback, makes a hell of noise under the pedal but inside the drone isn’t too bad at all

@@FknFaction Low oil pressure from a worn thrust bearing bro. Makes sense now, cause I was confused why it was due to just changing the rear mufflers. Sounds mint now though 😎🔥💯

Only because of how low I choose to be man. And my spacers so I can fit the brembos. But it’s not too bad and obviously if you lifted it alittle higher than me it would be fine

Jpipes and straight pipes sound the same, play one back to back and they sound the same

They sound the same on a phone or from the outside. But from inside the car you don't get the horrendous drone buzz with J pipes that kill your head.
My holden statema 3 point six lounder then all pipes you point on Ur car there baby sounds . My v6 sounds Tougher then Ur ss only the sound of mine it pops cracks no tune done 😅😊
