I love beautiful glass. Your large bowl reminds me of turn of the century carnival. The dark iridescence is very rare in newer pieces. Absolutely lovely

Just beautiful! I am unable to get to the stores when I want, but was so inspired that I went "shopping" in my stash of stuff and put something together last night! It's not quite as spectacular as yours, but it's just super cute! I'm waiting to see if it will hold up to my giant Doves before I embellish it a bit more. I'm a pretty new crafter, but your detailed instructions and explanations made me confident that I could DO THIS! Thank you!!!

I would have filled the blue vase with the colored stones from the dollar store to make it heavy so the wind would not blow it over. The wind blows so hard where I live.

I was thinking the same thing, or maybe sand. I can get a big bag of sand for $5 at a farmer/garden supply store near me

or the White gravel rock might be nice and still cost effective. Stones from the dollar store could add up pretty quick.

I do that and I have also drilled holes in the bottles one and used painted tent stakes to holes them to the ground if I want to keep the clear glass, bc sometimes I will putting solar fairy lights inside them.

Love that totem. I have made several different inside and outside pieces and given a lot away as gifts. I have made the glass flower plates as well.
A tip for your glue, before you put the lid on put some petroleum jelly, Vaseline on the ridges and the lid won't stick. Tfs.

I never use my ceramic bird baths in the winter.
The constant freezing at night and thawing during daylight
will cause ceramic bird baths to disintegrate much sooner than they should.
I use a heated, white, plastic bird birdbath in the winter but I don't fill it up
too high because the water on the lip will freeze. I thought the heater had
stopped working until realized I was filling it too high.
But I live in the suburbs of Philadelphia and people in warmer climates
probably don't have to worry about this.
I try and look for white bird baths.
That makes it much easier to tell if the water is dirty.
I keep a tightly wound strainer hung-up near the bird bath and
use that to clean very minute debris and birdcrap out of the birdbath
between changes of the water. I change the water at least once a day.
Some species of birds will crap in the water on a regular basis.

I use 2-Ton Epoxy by Devcon (found in most hardware stores) to adhere my glass pieces. It's incredibly strong and stands up to the weather.
One of the first birdbaths I ever made--about 14 or 15 years ago--I used that exact same blue vase. It really is lovely. And your birdbath is gorgeous!!
